I said this on embarkation day to my partner, but I think for something so small it’s absolutely brilliant
I wonder how long they will last.

On the other ships, roulette minimum is $1. Seems a bit of a jump.

Clearly, the narrator has had far more exciting times in the "infamous" Queens Room and Golden Lion than most of us might even imagine.

On QM2, Q4s are half as big again and have a dining room.
Apologies, I was referring to the Vistas.
I should know better, we have a QM2 Q4 booked for April.

I’m booked on a 3 night mini cruise on QM2 end of May and was offered a potential upgrade from Q6 to Q4 with minimum bid of £180pp
Not much difference between the two. Just different location.

If someone offered me a PG>QG for £200pp rather than the £640pp the bids started at I'd take it and Cunard are £400 better off than giving a free upgrade to someone
...providing they manage to sell your original cabin for at least what you paid.

The dart board is in the Golden Lion.
No croquet.
Possible fencing on sea days, if there is a qualified instructor.

QM2 has an excellent disco - G32, which is always busy.

I searched the forum for another instance of "BC" and couldn't find one, other than category BC. I'm sure that's not what was meant here.

We've had many trips on both QV and QE on the stern. QV used to have very large balconies but were severely reduced after the refit. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed them, even with the overhang.
We have 3 cruises booked on QA, on the deck below your's, so expect it will be fine. Just don't make too much noise above us 🙂

I had just finished the watercolour class in the Britannia, and spotted her sitting all alone.
I grabbed the phone and managed to get her indoors who quickly brought the passports down, and after a cursory glance our names were ticked off.
Fastest immigration ever.

I believe it is often allocated to those approaching retirement, as a sort of farewell present.
It was a young girl last year.

Anyone can dine in the Britannia for breakfast or lunch.

When you see the king removing his jacket at the table, and slinging over his chair, then we can all do it.
Until then, leave it on.

Can a black suit be okay for a gala evening or should it be a tux ?
It should be a tux or dinner suit, but with so many trying to drag down the dress code, they've made concessions.
As I have stated previously, the Cunard dress code is the MINIMUM not the target.
In QG on a Gala night almost all men are in tux/dinner suit, and on Smart nights it's mostly still jackets.
You can never be overdressed but enjoy yourself too!

It can be very much hit and miss.
As mentioned above, put it on your Roll Call to establish interest.
Traditionally, meets are held on first sea day, either at 11:00am or 2:00pm, in the Commodore Club, port side.
You will get no help from anyone.
I've been to a few that were quite well attended. Similarly, I've been to a few, when despite many responding on the Roll Call site only two or three turned up. With so much going on, people simply forget.
Good luck.

If the pilot boat or something similar has to come and collect you from the Solent, say, as I have seen happen, who pays for that?
Surely not a Pilot Boat? They're not equipped for MEDEVAC. Not an RNLI lifeboat perhaps?
We've watched a Pilot Boat bring out a stranded (late) passenger at a Spanish port. At the time the charge for that was €500.

All international SAR is free of charge.
Thanks, but I was specifically referring to a transatlantic crossing.
It's not the evacuation that you have to worry about, it's the on-going and aftercare. Plus the repatriation costs.

Isn't US/Canadian/British Coastguard free of charge?

With three trips booked, I certainly hope it looks better in real life when we get on board. Pics almost look depressing.

White shirts, formal shirts and polos all go to the laundry 3 or 4 at a time.
Occasionally trousers/chinos get sent as well but only if her indoors has spilt something on them.
The "smalls" get chucked into a wash machine on way to breakfast and get picked up on the way back.
No way she's going to wash and iron on holiday.

Actually, I much preferred Cunard's old policy when they used to state that "passengers should drink in moderation at all times".
Now that was a green light for the party to start at the breakfast table and continue all day.
