Contact NCL and they'll have you fill out a form in advance regarding your special needs. My mom has an allergy to butter and they assigned a specific crew member to work with her each day to make her food choices and ensure no cross-contamination. I've toured the galleys and they have separate areas to prepare these types of meals.  It was incredible and they went above and beyond. A few nights, the chefs even made a special dessert for my mom to eat that fit her needs.  It was amazing!

We're booked with the free airfare promo and a friend is now also joining us on the same cruise (different reservation, but same airport).  Is there a way to have NCL to book us on the same flights?  I know you can "link" reservations, but I don't know if that will be taken into account when assigning air...

We're just off the Breakaway. For Belize City, we were told to meet at 9am in Cirque and they would escort us off as a group.  That's a nice option, but we wanted to get off on one of the first tenders at 8am, so we ended up getting tender tickets instead.

We have an 11:30am flight out of MSY after our Breakway cruise in December - Thanks for asking the question! The ship docks at 7am. As long as we walk off and are through customs by 9:30, I think we'll be fine. That being said, we also have Global Entry/TSA-Pre... So we shouldn't have any issues getting through security at the airport. Good Luck!!

We're sailing out of NOLA shortly after Thanksgiving this year and hotel prices were CRAZY high! We're going to stay at a B&B called Elysian Fields. Location is great. An awesome breakfast is included. Rates are reasonable and they have amazing reviews on TripAdvisor...

Maya Chan is incredible - I'd highly recommend it. We're taking our family to visit Maya Chan on our cruise this November (4 people in the group are over 70 and have mobility challenges)..

Does anyone know if all the cabins were updated? Or just the suites? Thank you!

Did you notice much noise from the Great Outdoors on deck 12? And was the MiniSuite balcony larger than the regular aft balconies? Thanks!

We haven't been to this one, but we've gone to Maya Chan in Costa Maya four times. It's incredible!!!! Good luck with whatever one you choose...

Interesting... We're on the same sailing and we have reservations for Vocal Overdrive. I didn't see anything for MDQ...

We recently got a great deal at the Marriott Biscayne Bay...

We fold them and cover them in clear packing tape. Punch a hole in them and then use a zip tie to attach to your luggage...

I've tried searching the boards, but haven't been able to find a reasonable current price list for the spa on the Getaway. Can someone please point me to one or post one online? Also - please comment if you know of the current spa specials (usually on part days?)... Thank you!

Which ship? We recently did an upsell from a B1 to a forward facing haven suite for 750 per person. Thus was the initial offer from NCL at about 5 weeks out. We tried to negotiate without success. Finally agreed to the 750pp about 3.5 weeks out from our cruise. Good luck!

Does anyone know if we can rent a cabana (on the all inclusive side) without getting the entire romance package? We're not huge sun worshipers and want to make sure we have ample shade.

And if we don't get a cabana - are there large umbrellas available with the beach loungers?

Let's see....

You can get your own water in the buffet. Just use their cups to fill your own bottles so the dispenser doesn't get contaminated. We've checked water/soda with our luggage pretty easily.

For dinner - I've often worn sparkly flip flops or sandals without a problem. As for men... I'm not sure what's enforced.

Soft serve ice cream is available in the buffet. I think traditional ice cream might be available in O'Sheenans (Sundaes, shakes, malts, etc...). but I believe it's ala carte.

Specialty dining restaurants without reservations - With the UDP, I'm not sure how much success "walk ups" will have. But you can always try to make reservations once you get on the ship? Perhaps more times will open up.

Shore excursions we've done (or are planning to do):

Roatan - Spa Baan Suerte; Pirates Ziplining; Private tours by Victor Bodden

Belize City - Bicycling in a rainforest - wasn't that great.

Costa Maya - We've gone to Maya Chan at least 4 times and we LOVE it! Highly recommended

Cozumel - We've done snorkeling with the Fury company - it was fine. We're going to try Mr. Sancho's next month - it has pretty good reviews.

We did an upsell last week for the 5/15 sailing of the getaway. $1500 to go from a B1 to the forward facing haven suite. Enjoy your upsell!

I had been having the same issue on the website, but it suddenly started working last week. I found it interesting that it was only charging me $12.95 per day (per person). The current rate is $13.50. We also just accepted an upsell to the Haven - which should be $15.50 per day...

We just accepted an upsell from a B1 to an H4 on the Getaway ($750pp). It seems the Haven upsells started about 5 weeks prior to the sailing. And even at 3 weeks before sailing - they wouldn't even budge on the price. The Aft Suites and Spa Suites went first. Then only thing still available are the regular Haven Penthouses.

Have you considered Uber? They're usually cheaper than a cab and I believe they also have a "carpool" option which is even less expensive...
