  1. One reason my wife and I eat ALL of our meals (breakfast lunch and dinner) is because it decreases the opportunity to overeat. The few times we have eaten in the buffet, we tend to "try everything." So if your serious about your A1C, stick to the MDR.

It is mainly a joke - I have maintained a 5.9 A1C for about 15 years solid [did a stint of chemo 15 years ago that had my numbers out of whack] and have been diabetic since 1980, so I am *well controlled* :p

Though I do admit, seeing some of the photographed menus is fun, I can't wait to see what we will be getting. We have 3 specialty meals planned - first night out, last night out and the 14th, already pre-reserved.

  2. Haha, I hear that. I think I gained 20 lbs on our Thanksgiving cruise between all the food and drink.

We did a Royal Caribbean cruise in '11 [20th anniversary sort of we had to delay a year and reschedule because I ended up in hospital, this one is specifically for the 25th anniversary] and the food was amazing in the main dining room. This time around we got the 3 dinner package, the drink package and the thermospa pass and I can see needing to start my day sweating out all the toxins from the day before!

We have decided to do the steakhouse the first night out, the Brazilian churawhatever on the 14th for our anniversary and the Tuscan place last evening out. Since we both do odd hours, at about 5 am you can probably find us down in the pub, though being an insomniac, I may wander around to the pub pretty much any time overnight.

  3. Yesss! I end up hand washing my undies and bras. I personally have never sent in my stuff, but I did send in baby clothes three years ago with no issues, but they were mostly cotton, etc. This time I'll send out some of my son's clothes and husbands, but never mine!

Wow, I would never actually think of sending off my undies to be washed by someone else, normally I even hand wash them at home!

But then again, I ruck along in my issue backpack and can pack for an entire 7 day cruise with my laptop, charging cords, kindle and odds and ends in a small 'hiking' backpack.

And by issue backpack, I mean one of these:

  4. OK. Almost everybody recommends taking a power strip - this is because....??

very limited power points/outlets available, so if you need to charge a camera, and have an alarm clock, and a cpap/sound generator ... and so forth.

Most cruise ships do not take into account how "electrified" people have become lately.
