  1. I've recently upgraded from the classic to deluxe drink package. I understand most of the additional benefits (still not clear on Venchi situation). The website description of the Deluxe package says: "drinks and food from room service menu"

Any idea what food this is referring to?

  2. We just got back and had the Aurea experience. The priority check in and boarding was nice. Certainly not a must have for us though. As mentioned the My Choice dining and private deck/bar were absolutely worth it. There were 4 in our group. Went to dinner around 7 each night. There was never a line and we were seating immediately. Around 8 or so we noticed a line started forming and people did have to wait. There are 2 hot tubs on deck and there were always plenty of chairs available. However, we did have less than favorable weather so that could have something to do with the lack of people outside.

Where is the private sun deck, and can you always find a spot easily?

  3. Going in our first cruise in June and was looking to hear people views on activities for teenagers two boys 14 &17/. They are sports mad is There a few for the Astro / basketball courts . Have any of your family used the teen club ::: tia

Lots for them to do. Sports court is free, so they can play basketball, soccer, dodgeball etc. Get them involved in the teen club. I'm sure they'll enjoy that. Pool, water slides, zip line, 5d theater, F1 simulator, bowling, arcade, etc.... Of course there are extra fees for much of this, but that's standard. There will be tons for them to do.

  4. I just added it for Nov 17 2018 and Mar 16 2019. It should be available, you just have to get a rep that knows about it.

Called in and got a rep that definitely knew about this. She upgraded me without an issue. Went to my booking online and it shows up as Upgrade 534-536, followed immediately by Cancelled item - Upgrade 534-536

  5. Yes the upgrade does work. We just got off of the Seaside this past week and had used it on our promo package from early booking. It was $56 per adult, $112 total. Kids don't have to upgrade. The full code is 536UPGAD. It is very very well worth the upgrade:)

Being told this is not available on my sailing (Dec 15, 2018). They really need to get their stories straight.

  6. Free mini-bar, premium alcohol brands, higher end drinks like the martinis at the venchi chocolate bar, more selection at the gelato bar (ice cream bars), etc. for $112 it was very worth it.

So we don't need to pay for kids to upgrade - and they still get upgraded?

  7. Just booked an Aurea suite with whirlpool. A bit confused about the all-inclusive drinks. The fine print says the following:

*Depending on cruise destination, the drinks package may be either All-Inclusive Restaurant & Bar Drink Package or All-Inclusive Classic Drink Package.

Can someone confirm that this is all-inclusive drinks, anywhere, anytime (I know it excludes room service and minibar) - or is this all-inclusive drinks only at mealtime in MDR?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Confused about the MDR situation. I understand there are two main dining rooms - one on 5, and one on 6. I've also heard that the main buffet on 8 is converted to a dining room in the evening. So who sits in that room? Seems weird.

  9. Yes. It is available for free until 11pm. There is a section of free items and other sections with paid options in the booklet in the room. Wait time was usually 20-30 minutes. One or two times it took around 40-45 minutes.

    Did you cruise recently?

  10. Having trouble getting a definitive answer on this. Hopefully a recent Divina cruiser can clarify room service - specifically on Fantastica level. I had an online chat with an MSC rep several months ago, who assured me that at Fantastica level, room service food AND delivery is free - up to 11pm. Reading the boards recently, there's lots of confusion on this. Can someone clarify?

    thx

  11. We have just booked our first MSC cruise on the Seaside for March 2018. We are part of a group booking that received OBC for booking through TA. Have just submitted info to match status to our Marriott status (both have silver). I am wondering if we will be able to receive the 5% off our cruise pricing? Also, would we qualify for the $50 OBC?

The $50 OBC is only for select 'Voyages' sailings.

  12. We booked for Dec 2017. Found that the price/adult was about half regular price. Overall price for a room with two adults and two kids was unbeatable. Definitely a very 'legit' sale.
