I'm having an issue with the passport scanning on the app. First time cruising MSC and unbelievably frustrated with this web check in process thus far.
i just came here to search and found you have EXACT same problem as us...i was able to get wife checked in WITH picture taking on laptop working, then tried to do mine and NOTHING...the camera comes on with me on screen, but no "you are too close...or you are high, get lower" like my wife got when taking her pcture. I guess I will try again tomorrow, and if doesn't work will just show up with out being checked in! We cruise out of Southampton England on March 8.
I also tried on my Iphone, but there don't even get a picture screen...just blank.

https://book.abparking.co.uk/ABPShop/ABP/Parking
that is the site I was told to use.
There is off site parking at nearby parking garages...cheaper, but not as convenient. We are on March 8th sailing and are parking our rental car at the port.
In past we have used "park and fly" rates at the Holiday Inn which is right next to port.
-
I'm watching it right now...no problems with it currently.
I like that you can put in more than one "participant"...so my wife is also "watching".

I wear jeans, you wear tux. I find nothing wrong with either.

I wear my normal jeans every night when cruising. Where whatever u want and have a great cruise.

We did stand by and got on 930am flight a month ago in FLL. No checked bags (Maybe obviously). Gave us longer layover in Atl.

2 of us both got 10 points

Great news. Hope it continues. We get on this ship on Friday. We had already decided that we are sticking with our normal cruise dinner tradition of NOT eating in the MDR. We are elite plus on X and have never eaten in MDR. Based on recent internet chatter we had been considering changing plan, but just last night decided we wouldn’t starve with whatever the buffet had to offer.
thanks for posting!

I hate the two tops in the MDR as they are so close together. Hubby had cancer so I asked to be farther away. Still didn’t work so we OVC for dinner, MDR for breakfast and lunch as they could accommodate our request. One word of caution is that food was not that great but we managed to find something to eat.
I really hope the dining on our upcoming cruise isn't that bad. We are elite plus on X and have NEVER eaten in MDR, but with the buffet cutbacks are going to give it a try...I guess we can always just go to MDR, get our food and take it to GO!
I really hope the MDR isn't crowded and noisy (we are on Edge, so there are 4 smaller rooms...hope that helps keep noise down?) It is (was) so nice to go to the buffet, get exactly what you want, and then sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet!

...Elsewhere in the call they mention how newer ships have a lot more onboard spend opportunities and so are a lot more profitable.
Where else can they squeeze more $'s out of passengers?

My understanding or interpretation of the T-shirt noted above are those wife beater, mussel type T-shirts. Not long sleeved, half sleeved or thee quarter sleeved T-shirts. I always (and many others) wear T-shirts and shorts in the MDR for breakfast and the occasional lunch. All acceptable.
A"wife beater/muscle shirt" is a tank top(or at least that is what I call them?), and since they list both t-shirts and tank tops separetely I figured they were referring to different things?

Fake news!
i didn't think so UNTIL I was reading:(bolded by me)
Guest Ticket Booklet
10 NIGHT ULTIMATE SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN
CELEBRITY EDGE 24 FEB 2023...Note: T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps
and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty
restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip flops are not allowed in the
evening hours. As a courtesy to our guests, we respectfully require and
enforce compliance with dress code at the entrance of your restaurant
of choice, Additionally, guests are asked to follow the dress code in the
Celebrity Theater for all evening performances. -
Is it really true that you can NOT wear a t-shirt in the MDR at breakfast or lunch? (if they allow shorts at dinner...per some reports YMMV, they surely would let you eat breakfast while wearing a t-shirt???)

Just got off the phone with Captains Club dialing the above number. They were going to transfer me to Blue Chip Club since my sailing is a casino comped cruise but after 20 minutes on hold (the original customer service agent was actually on hold to transfer the call ) the agent proactively asked her supervisor if she can go ahead and process the wifi purchase and was given the OK, so all went well and I was given both the pre-cruise discount AND the Elite+ discount!
We have upcoming free BCC cruise. I called general 800 number yesterday and they were able to sell me Wi-Fi package and apply my elite plus discount without any fuss.

That said, we had 2.5-2.75 hour dinners (not by choice) in the MDR so I can see why people don’t want to spend that much time at dinner.
Using that timing as an example of all in time for a complete course by course meal, does anyone know (or can have an educated guess!), what kind of time it would take if we went to MDR and ONLY ordered a "main course"...I assume it wouldn't take over 2 hours???

Martini Bar, World Class Bar, Ensemble Lounge. Craft Social, etc. We like the entertainment and variety in these bars over the Retreat Lounge. ... We used the OVC for breakfast and lunch. Everything that non-Suite passengers also do on a Celebrity cruise.... The cruise was excellent in all of those areas and service was very good and not understaffed. Try it for yourself.
We cruise next week. We are elite+ but haven't cruised on X for 4 years. I hope this is what we find also...reading these boards about understaffing...you obviously don't agree with that...so hope same holds true for us!

Should be more than OK, You have a panoramic window that opens.
Or at least can be opened unless it is "locked"

The dress code says "designer jeans". Not sure what designer jeans are, to be honest. I'm guessing my faded 501's won't spread the mustard, so I'll just bring some chino type pants.
My "designer jeans" were designed by Lee.

A day or two—- (pool day) I went to Eden Cafe for sandwich & potato chips (only place on ship u can get chips—) dang I would of love the brisket & chocolate fountain
Love “reliving” the cruise. Also, saw stuff we missed. Guess that means we need to go on another cruise
There should be a way to have your X app make phone buzz whenever there is brisket available!

You mentioned food and not enough staff but that was all. Ships being crowded isn't a bad thing, you can't expect them to sail half full forever more or else they'll go bankrupt.
What was so terrible about the food and what was so terrible about service? And was there anything else or was your statement about everything being worse just hyperbole?
I'
I think the problem isn't that the ship is full...I think the problem could be that the ship is not fully staffed.
We sail on X for the first time in about 4 years (we are elite plus) in less than 2 weeks (first time on Egde)...I am going with open mind...We will have a great cruise not matter what the ship life is like (we basically use the cruise ship as a hotel).

Time change back to EST tonight at 2am.
Do you know if the ship is actually crossing time zone when the ship changes clocks? Just wondering if our iPhones will do the two time changes automatically or if we will have to do the math for some of the trip?
thanks for your time and review. Good info for us when boarding in 13 days!

Typically the lounge bar is open 07:00 - 23:00, some local variations to be expected by ship.
thanks for info...our sailing is sold out, but they are still taking upgrade bids...i assume that is in case of last minute cancellations or no-shows...i can't decide if we should put in a bid or not...the minimum bid is pretty low (but odds are if a room becomes available the minimum bid wouldn't win anyway)
-
Is the retreat lounge open all day (for free alcoholic drinks??)?
We have no drink package and are considering bidding.and would consider that perk in the decision.
thanks for info!

the problem is without being able to load a picture it won't complete the check in. I assume that isn't a problem, just showing up without being checked in...just frustrating (especially when wife took her pic and 5 minutes later I coudn't..using same device!
