  1. I'll be interested in seeing responses to your message too. I've used them many times in the past, including last year, and have written several good reviews about them thru the years. My one and only complaint with them has been that years ago they stopped driving people from FLL to South Beach hotels, and we always spend a night in South Beach before a cruise, so we can't use them for that part of our trip. Either way, I still plan on using them for my transportation from the Port of Miami to FLL after this upcoming cruise in April.

  2. I've used The Parking Doctors (Parktologists) twice and was happy both times. For the last 7-day cruise, the total was under $65. Their lot isn't fancy and your car will be a little dusty when you return, but I wasn't worried about leaving my car there and I previously lived within blocks of the lot and the port. The lot itself is about 6 blocks from the port, so the shuttle drive to and from the lot is quick. And you'll keep your keys.

I'll use them again simply because I don't see a need to pay twice as much to park in the garage across the street when it only saves me about 20 minutes. Plus, living in the city, I'm used to my car being parked outside.

  3. Hello,

Are you still on the cruise. Just a couple of months away.

Yep, still on the cruise. Will be out in St. Pete the night before. I almost forgot that I had started this thread months ago. ha

  4. As we get closer to our cruise date, I thought I'd check and see if any of our fellow cruisers will be in St. Pete the night before the cruise. I live near Georgie's Alibi. We can meet up over there or people can stop by my apt first for free cocktails. Let me know if anyone's interested.

  5. I used SAS Transportation (http://www.ridesas.com) again on 1/19/2014 for travel from the Port of Miami to FLL and I was happy to see that they're still as efficient, cheap and polite as ever. This was the 5th time I've used them. Once again, I made my reservation online and they picked me up curbside at the cruise port within a few minutes of calling them after I passed thru customs. Because it is a shared-ride service, sometimes you do need to ride along for about 5-10 minutes to pick up additional passengers, but that's how shared-ride services work. Total fare from POM to FLL for one person was $15 (I always tip too).

When friends/coworkers ask me for advice when cruising out of Miami, I ALWAYS tell them:

    - consider flying into Fort Lauderdale instead of Miami because you may easily save $100 or more on your flight

    - use SAS if you need transportation directly from FLL to a downtown Miami hotel or the Port of Miami (unfortunately, SAS no longer goes to South Beach, so we used GO Airport Shuttle this last time for that part)

    - use SAS for transportation after the cruise from POM to FLL

Hope this helps any newer cruisers.
