Just off a 15 night cruise on Emerald for the solar eclipse and Panama Canal. Great ship, no complaints at all. Just not as glitzy/new as any Royal Class ship. Would go again any time.

We also just got off. The ship and crew are great. Wished they had an Alfredo's like Sapphire.

Has IC very good sandwiches but no salads. Good Sprits bar is small but lots of fun.  Had an Aft Suite was awesome!

    I would sail her anytime.

We had R402, midship penthouse both on Ruby and Emerald.

This cabin is directly under Lido deck and both times we experienced "rolling Thunder" approx, 6:30am each morning. My guess they are moving carts of towels or food products just above our heads.

A question for Aft fans... did you find soot on your balcony while underway from the stacks?

    Thanks

    Bob

No soot and yes the those suiotes on the side are horrible. Friends on this cruise had one and hated the noise.

Agree automatic shuffler BJ is horrible.

They usually have a shoe on a $25 table that pays 3/2

I do really good at the Fun BJ and take advantage of the rules like doubling down after 3 cards and surrender, just remember they take all the 10’s from each deck so your are playing with 48 cards a deck.

Board Emerald Princess tomorrow anybody have update how the table games are?

Still trying to win all the money I lost on all the previous cruises

Pleased you got it moved but I don't think it is official policy to allow it to be moved. It isn't in the T&Cs anywhere that I can see. In which case it is probably ask and see if you get lucky!

I sure will try..I think they try to fill them up on sailaway as most passangers are busy getting around the ship and give them to suite passangers.

  5. Have a suite on the Emerald for the solar cruise and they booked me a free dinner in the Crown Grill for the sail away date. How hard is it to have them give me credit for a different day.. we don’t want to eat there the first night on the cruise and have booked some sea days at the Grill

$6 on black jack and Fun 21

$6 on your spot or $5 on the spot and $1 on the bonus bet

I won't play blackjack since they only pay 6 for 5 for a bj and have a continuous shoe.  So it's Fun 21 or wait for a $25 table with decent rules to open.

Yes, you can advise your room steward (a.k.a. Stewart) that you don't need a particular morning or evening service.  Or that you just need some towels changed.  We often don't have Stewart do a full servicing both morning and evening.  You will likely want trash taken out during a voyage as the cans are small and it does mount up.

They are required - or at least want to - change the bed linens every four days (so once for a weekly voyage).  We have had just one change on a 10-nighter before.

You do not go to a "front desk" for cabin supplies or to request a cleaning, etc.  Talk to your steward.  I have found they are quite accommodating.

Use the screen at your cabin door to set Green to request service and Red to not enter.

I would take the reduced fare and skip the hassles. Are you planning on taking any Princess excursions?  Or buying Plus on board.  Or independent internet?

$2300 is mega bucks that will probably be “non-refundable”.

Do you have military/share holder OBC?

Have Plus but was planning to buy  Premier on board...for some reason it seems cheaper to buy it on board based on our last couple of cruises

Well I’d like to say I was at least even…and I did have a run where I built my player bank up to $3500…but alas now I’m stuck $8000.
still more time to go; I’m up to 21,000 points now (which is a record high for me; sadly not a record loss…yet)

Back in the room now..ordered a big load of room service (last ate at 7).

Going to get my grub on and watch either a movie or YouTube.
Probably get up around 11, so I can go to the lunch buffet and see what’s good. Then mill around the ship, maybe watch another movie or just sleeeep

Thanks for your casino action reports love them. I love playing BJ on the Discovery..here is a funny clip from "las Vegas Vacation" with Chevy Chase at the Mirage Black Jack Table

  11. We are booked on the Sapphire Princess for a 19-day cruise/tour around South America in February 2025. We booked PHS under promotion and got $2300 OBC.  I checked the price today and I can get the same cruise/tour for $2100 less and no OBC. I was planning to go to the casino and get back the OBC in cash but not sure if they would give it back as cash.

    What would you do?

Thanks! You’re going to have a great time!! And I guess that means I can put my flannel shirts away once we get to BA! 😂

Right now it’s around 33F down here cruising along the South Shetland Islands. I erroneously mentioned earlier that it was 26.6F because I made the mistake of getting it from the Princess App. When I checked Windy, it pretty much said it stays around 33-36F this time of year down here.

Thanks for taking the time to share with us your unbelievable cruise.

We are booked on the Sapphire for February 7th, 2025, for your exact 2nd part of cruise and will be following along.

We have a PHS but it is not aft, it's Caribe mid ship as no aft’s were available.

    Thanks again.

  13. Nice clean ship...we did the 14 day Diamond from Singapore to Tokyo with 3 stops in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taipei, and 3 ports in Japan. Had a great time!  Our mini suite had a bidet which I hated at first but when I got to USA installed one.
