  1. My wife and i are booked in feb. 2022 on the Mardi Gras.  We weren't married when we booked, but got married this past summer.  We are booked with early saver.  I can't find a whole lot of recent info on this.  What I can find some people say they will change the name for free after seeing the marriage certificate, others say we will have a $50 fee.

I have been avoiding the phone call to carnival to deal with it.  What do you guys expect they are going to tell me?

  2. Looking at the five person rooms. They all say the 2 twin beds cannot be pushed together to make a king when both uppers are used. Is this true?  When looking at videos on YouTube of these rooms there are numerous examples of the beds as a king with both uppers down. Just a little confused

There are a variety of reasons for no shows. It's not a big deal Carnival has their money. Port Fees /Gratuities either go back on your onboard account or reimbursed back to CC.

i certainly hope it works out, and your ex realizes she is punishing  the boys not you.

Can the 18 year old reason with his mom. "Look mom I'm 18 and CAN go, so why  deny my brother."

The 18 year old is a mommy's boy. She guilt trips him hard. So he has actually said he doesn't want to go now. He went in 2018 and 2019 and loved it so it is just his mom causing him to say that. If he doesn't want to go I am fine with that. It sucks that it is his mom that makes him say that but what am I going to do

You pay for them and you do not call.  When they don't show up at the terminal, you will be automatically reimbursed port fees and any prepaid grats.  If they are a "no show" at boarding, that will guarantee your stateroom is not changed.

So what happens embarkation morning?  They notice 2 of us are missing, and ask why?  We tell them and they refund port fees and grats?  That simple?

Practical answer is yes, if you cancel prior to boarding, you can be switched from those staterooms to staterooms for 2 people.  Port fees and grats are refunded to payment method automatically for "no shows".

What if I pay for them. I don't expect my money back. If they can't go can I pay the full price, call Carnival and say 2 of us won't be coming?  If I did that they wouldn't change our room assignment would they?  It matters because first we have 2 connecting rooms, and 2 we are booked next to another family we are going with

  6. The boys will be 18 and 17 when we cruise. She won't be able to stop the 18 year old. The boys live with me and the court settlement says she has to allow travel but that she has to sign a consent for each time they travel. I am sure I can win in court but it is going to cost a lot of money. I am hoping she will just be reasonable

  7. A bit of background first. We are booked on the magic next January. We have 2 rooms booked with 3 people in each room. They are connecting rooms. My ex is now saying she won't consent to let me 2 teenage boys go. So if they can't go it puts us down to 4 people going. We booked with me and the 2 boys listed in one room and my wife and our 2 daughters in the other room. If the 2 boys booked with me can't go and we call and cancel them we would have to move one of the daughters to my room and have 2 per room. Would there be any problem keeping the 2 connecting rooms we have with just 2 in the room even though they can hold 3? Other option would be to just pay fully for 6 and only take 4. This way if their mother changed her mind they could still go. I assume Carnival doesn't care that they don't come if we pay for them. A few less mouths to feed. Do you have to inform Carnival ahead of time that they will not be coming? Do you inform them when you do online check in? Or do you inform them the day you board? One more question. We prepaid gratuities when we booked. Would those get refunded? What about the port taxes?

  8. We have 2 connecting rooms booked for a cruise coming up in January. We have 3 people booked in each room. We may need to cancel one person. We are booked with early saver if that makes a difference. We have just paid our deposit and I am aware we would not get that back.

So if we canceled one person what would happen?  Would we possibly have to change rooms so that we didn't have a three person to booked for 2?  Could we just pay the rest of the fare and have him not show up the day we get on?

  9. I are planning what we are going to do on our upcoming cruise which stops in St. Maarten. We are thinking the water taxi to great bay beach sounds good and easy. I can't find much info online about the water taxi, except that it is $7US per person. How may stops does at make, and where? Any other info on the water taxi be be appreciated

  10. I have been hearing on the cruise radio podcast which is a pretty trustworthy source that fuel surcharges are becoming a possibility as oil prices keep on moving up. They said last time the cruise lines did this was back in the 2008 time frame.

We have a cruise coming up in February and it is fully paid. If a fuel surcharge is put in place before our cruise does anyone know if it will be applied to me who is already paid in full or if it would just apply to new bookings?

  11. My 10 year old daughter went on her second cruise in May. I logged onto the Carnival website found her VIPF # and added it to that booking. After reading your comment, I'm so glad that I did because she would've been upset also to get a blue card for the second time. I assumed that Carnival would automatically add the points and giving the right card but I guess I was wrong.

How did yo add it? Did you find away to do it online? Or did you call?

  12. THis coming winer will will be taking our second carnival cruise so therefore will be red. There will be 6 of us, 2 adults 4 kids sharing 2 connecting rooms. Being red we get the 1.5L bottle of water. My question is will we get one bottle per cabin, or 1 bottle per person?

  13. Thanks so much. We are taking our three year old dd with us on this cruise. Was just wandering if this is going to be something she would like or if we are going to have to get her after a short while.

Our 4 year old would have stayed there all day and night had we let her. Every kid is different though, so you won't know for sure until the time

  14. Last February my family of 6 (4 kids) went on our first cruise. Obviously we were all blue cards. We booked our second cruise for this coming February and in our cruise manager it shows my wife and I as red cards now. But the 4 kids not having a carnival account show as "none" for VIFP number. Will they get red cards or do they need a carnival account so their cruises can be tracked.

THis isn't really a big deal, I was just curious

  15. Has anyone had their young kids be a part of the youth program on the carnival breeze? Pros and cons?

Our 4 year old absolutely loved camp ocean on the breeze this past February. She wanted to stay there all day long but we only allowed her a few hours a day. I can't really think of any cons. If you have any more specific questions please ask.

  16. I really enjoyed not having my phone on me on our first cruise this past February. We did use it to take pictures a bit, but otherwise we didn't touch our phones for a week. It is really nice, to bad we don't have the strength to do it while we are home lol
