    Hi

In all the years I have cruised I have never backed up my memory cards and have got away with it:classic_smile: but this coming January we are sailing around New Zealand and I reckon I ought to sort this dilemma out.  So experts can you advise me please what is the best way ahead, I haven't and really do not want to purchase a laptop to backup but would an iPad do the job? I am a Apple user so a iPad seems to be the best answer but I would like your advice.  My idea would be to download photos/videos from my Nikon and GoPro daily onto the iPad and then transfer them onto a Scandisk IXpand 64GB flash drive for iPhone & iPad, once home transfer them all onto my iMac.

Would this be the best option I have without purchasing a laptop?  Your collective thoughts would be appreciated

    Craig

If your camera has NFC or WiFi , you can transfer photo or video from camera  to your smart phone.

From your smart phone you can:

    a) If your smart phone accepts micro SD memory card, you move/copy files from your phone onto micro SD memory.

    b) upload photo/video from smart phone to cloud when Wifi is available in port.

  2. When I was in Copenhagen for 5 days, I use Metro more than train. #25 bus goes to Norreport which is a Metro station.

From Norreport you can walk to Rosenborg Slot.

Metro stop Kongens Nytorv is near Storget street which has lots of shops, this is the main shopping area. Illum is on Storget

From Kongens Nytorv, you can walk to Nyhaven.

From Kongens Nytorv, take 1A bus to Royal Palace.

Bus 1A also goes to Copenhagen Citadel, Mermaid is just a bit north of Citadel.

From Metro stop Christianshavn, you can visit Church our Saviour which has a spiral staircase to the top.

From Metro stop Christianshavn take bus 9A to Paper Island which as food court (forget the proper name).

From Paper Island you walk across bridge to Nyhaven, if you have more time walk to Storget shopping area.

From Nyhaven you can take a boat ride to Black Diamond or Royal Library.

    The above is my experience,

  3. This bus stop for #25 #27 is across from the UNICEF building. See yellow circle.

I high lighted the building with UNICEF sign:

It is a short walk from cruise terminal, follow the green dots on pavement to bus stop.

Bus #25 has lots of space luggage. #27 is a regular city bus, so there is no extra space for luggage. #27 bus driver told us that luggage cannot block middle aisle. He stopped the bus and told us to put luggage on seat.

We were at Oceankaj bus stop on a June Tue morning around 7:20AM. According to posted bus schedule, the first #25 bus at Oceankaj is 8:00AM. We did not want to wait for another 40 minutes so we took #27 instead. There was a #27 bus there when we reached the bus stop.

All passengers were from cruise ship, #27 was quite fast to reach train station. May be it so early in the morning there was no local passenger.

If I remember correctly, #27 bus driver accept $3USD or 3 Euro cash or Danish kroner. I took so many bus/metro in different cities, hope I did not get this mixed up.

  4. We took train from Warnemunde to Schwerin Mitte station on 5 June 2017 (Regal Princess). Change train in Rostock. From Schwerin Mitte station is a short walk to the Schwerin Castle. We bought ticket online. Took the 8:33am train from Warnemunde, Took the 13:44 train from Schwerin Mitte to Rostock. Took a tram to Rostock down town. Back to Warnemunde with lots of spare time. 27 Euro round trip ticket/person.

Schwerin Castle is one of top 10 in the world. Worth a visit. The garden face the lake is beautiful.

If you visit Schwerin castle inside, there are 2 separate entrances for different exhibits. Make sure you visit both. We almost missed one.

Go early to avoid those on excursion tour. When we came out of castle there were many excursion tourists. No need to join excursion, this is an easy DIY.

  5. Usually folks on CC are followers. Someone on the roll call does all the research and sets it up and then others read about it and join in. lol. Your ship/sailing might have had Alla and maybe another ship/sailing had another company. Plus how could you really notice for sure as everything is so hectic and aren't the vans unmarked? Regardless being in the majority doesn't make it better.

Vans are unmarked, buy tour guides have signs with either ALLA Tour or SPB Tour. I am just stating what I saw. Of course majority/more/popular does not equate better.

  6. I got off from Regal Princess in Oceankaj this morning. We followed the green dots on pavement to the bus stop. The bus stop is across from a building with UNICEF sign on it . According to posted bus schedule, #25 starts at 8am. We were at bus stop around 7:15am so we took #27 instead. Posted bus fare is $3USD, 3 Euro, or 24 Kroner. It is very easy to ride the bus to train station, and into all other attractions.

  7. On June 1, 2017. I went to Malmo from Copenhagen for the day. There was no passport check. The were two ticket inspectors on board to check tickets. Same day round trip ticket costs 178K. We took bus no. 2 to go see Turning Torso. Bus no. 2 stops right in front of the building. At Copenhagen central station, platform 5 is the train to Malmo . Check with train conductor first. Return from Malmo is track 1B.

Washroom in Malmo train station is 10SEK. You can also pay with Denmark Kroner but no coin.

Train crossing the bridge is no big deal for me. I am not impressed.
