I have been following the wine list post and have a few questions. I have been traveling on Seabourn for a few years and have never seen one. if we don't want the pour of the day/meal we are offered others, but it would be so much easier if we knew what was available to begin with.
1. I am assuming that there are some differences in the wine list depending on where the ship goes - is that the case?
2. How does one get hold of a wine list for a cruise? Are they available on the ship, would you go to get one? (Dining room, Bars, Seabourn Square, Waiter, Wine Steward)?
3. Is there a secret to getting one?
thanks

we are on a cruise in October and will be docked in Portland for a day and a half. Where in Portland is the docking area for ships - is it near activity areas.
Thanks for any info

I took this trip a couple of years ago - I don't remember a terribly long wait to get off the ship, but I was not doing any tours and was not in a hurry. The ship usually arrives in a port on the early side but I may not be the best resource for you for your question.
It is a tender stop and Seabourn gives people on Seabourn excursions priority on departure time for their tours. 9:30 A.M. may be a bit early. You might want to reschedule departure time and/or give a call to your T.A. or to the Seabourn office and ask them.
In regard to Boston disembarkation - we were in port early and left the ship about 9:30 or so. We live near Boston and had a friend picking us up. There are taxis at the port and it is not a long ride to the train station. I would probably not book a train much before 11:00 or noon to be on the safe side.

There is a HOHO bus in Sanguney (not extremely efficient). There is not a lot to do in the vicinity of the dock in sanguney.
It is an easy walk into the town at Baie Comeau. There were a few shops and some walking trails that we enjoyed; it is a small town.
In Gaspe we chose to do one of the ship's excursion to Pierce Rock ( we enjoyed it). There is also a terminal where the ship docks in Gaspe

We are going on the Pacific Gold Coast cruise in October on the Sojourn. The cruise starts October 3, 2017 in Vancouver . When I went to the roll call the start date is October 6th, 2017 for Sojourn. The roll call lists no other info. There are three messages on the roll call-mostly general "hello" stuff.
Am I going on the roll call too early? Are there two embarking ports? Am I crazy?
Thanks

We were disappointed the the offerings in Saguenay when we were on a cruise a couple of years ago we tried the HOHO, but the course the bus took had few interesting stops and the driver offered no thoughts (the paper mill has a tour, there was almost empty downtown). You might look into a private guide (with 8 of you the cost will be somewhat affordable).
There was a "Spectacle history of Saguenay" performance (ship excursion) that some passengers went to - a lot of them found it a little hokey but others enjoyed it.
We wound up walking through the town at the port We came upon a market/craft area at a church which we enjoyed.

Appreciate the replies to my questions; very helpful. I am looking forward to both a visit to Victoria and a beautiful sail into Malta

We will be on a Mediterranean Isle cruise this fall. The stop in Gozo says Xlendi/Victoria as the port call. Does anyone who may hae takn this cruise know whether the ship docks in Xlendi harbor or Mgaar? if in Xlendi, are there any transportation options to get to Vitoria. They do list this stop as using a tender. Does the ship offer a shuttle to Victoria .We really don't like any of the excursion options listed.
Thanks

I received the same e-mail for the 9/1-9/11 cruise on the Quest. While toying with the offer, I had the same thought about over-booking.

We will be taking the Quest from Montreal to Boston September 1-11th. I have been looking for alternative tours for the Gaspe stop on Sept 6th. I found one that goes to Pearce Rock and back. The cost is $70.00 per person; length of time is 4 1/2 hours; size of group; no more than 12. Here is the link if you are interested:

I believe we dock on the Willamette River near the downtown area. Check the discussion on the Sojourn Roll Call for more specifics.
