I mean, its got much safer to travel mostly due to the fact that the majority of people were forced to stay at home but again, one sick person is enough to start it all over again. In any case I expect  everything to go back to normal by the end of this year

I usually spend april and october in Egypt getting a last minute but  since  covid broke out in march It was a problem even only going to shop groceries

I am 67, my husband 77 so we book only last minute our cruises because we never know if we are fit to travel :-)

in 2020 we wanted to repeat the polinesia cruise but every thing is resting in the wish list bucket at the moment.

MSC and Costa have started cruising again, but I don't feel safe at the moment.

  2. Great posts everybody! I thought about buying this set of deep purple luggage for myself, and didn't really think that there would be too many others buying that color. Hubby just bought all black luggage so we'll have to throw some color on it. Now I have ideas as to how to do that.

I bought some iron-on tags with an italian flag :) : quite a big one, you can spot it from a distance.

  3. Do not forget a very good suntan lotion and a cooling and moisturizing aftersun: wind and sun makes you look younger while they last, do it the right way.

A very good night cream, for the same reason.

Undies that can be washed overnight and left to hang in the shower :) without embarassing you.

a shawl or pashmina to keep in your bag because air conditioning in certain area could be freezing and you'll end up with a sore throat. It is good for going into religious places, also.

a plastic bag, the foldable ones you use for shopping : take it with you when you on shore excursions.

reading glasses : bring an extra pair if you can :)

  4. I am italian and have an italian passport.

Cruising with Costa, each time you got on/off the ship, you had to show your passport to prove your identity when going back on the ship.

This increases the risk of having it stolen while on land.

Now I'm going around Hawaii with HAL, the question is :

is the new identity pass with photo ok for getting on/off the ship or do I still have to carry around my passport because the port officials want to see it too??
