  1. We got off the ship the same morning that you boarded. We were also in an SV cabin but one deck down from you and on the Starboard side in stead of the Port side. While under way, and it was quite windy during our cruise, we experienced a strong diesel exhaust odor when sitting on the balcony. I'm wondering if it was the wind, the cabin, or an inherent problem with SV cabins.

Have a great time, and if you get a chance, try a cucumber martini with Hendrix Gin and Cointreau.

Yummy! I will have one Jan 22 sailing! This will be our second time on the Silhouette! Can't wait! :)

Norris you ROCK!!! ;):D Thank you very much for taking the time to share with me! :)

  3. Kathy, Carol brings home the daily activities sheets from every cruise we do.

I have never put any in a review as it's so much scanning.

If it's Quasar you are interested in I can list the daily events.

I know we missed some themed dance parties in Sky Lounge and up by the Pool that looked like fun when we watched the video we bought on board. One was an 80's night (Sky Lounge) where the ship's singers and dancers were dressed in 80's clothing.

I'll dig them out and take a look. Watch this space.

    Norris

Hi Norris, This would be WONDERFUL!!! If you could please tell me anything that involved dancing and fun this would be great, either in the Sky Lounge, pool deck, or anywhere on ship. Thank you. I bought some glow necklaces and bracelets for all my family/friends! I thought it would add to the fun.

  4. Hi Norris! :)

GREAT review! Do you have all the Celebrity Daily Newsletters with all the activities? Are you planning on posting them? I was wondering if you can tell me some of the events that happen in the disco? A bunch of us would like to plan an evening when we can meet up there ahead of time. We are interested in either a 70's, 80's, or Motown night?

  5. No drinks at Molecular alas. I really just drink beer during the day and wine with dinner-that's why you won't see Martinis in my reviews although they add a nice splash of color. I drink dark rum and cokes and Mojitos from time to time, usually in somewhere warm. I never do shots. I like Bailey's on ice to sip.

I don't go to bars in real life. One regret is not going to the Martini Bar with the camcorder to capture the skills of the bartenders there-that's like a great Circus act. Next time!

    Norris

I usually just drink wine, beer, Tanqueray with Tonic, and Mojitos too. The last cruise I did purchase a martini, but it is so strong I couldn't drink it all. We were at the martini bar a lot. We would meet our friends/family there before dinner each night. The bar tenders do put on an amazing show when they pour MANY martinis at one time. SO COOL to watch! I don't know if it will really be worth it to me to upgrade, but the drinks at the Molecular Bar look so cool to try for fun.

  6. You have taken some AMAZING pictures, you are really getting me excited for my cruise. Thank you so much for taking the time to do your review and share with everyone! We have sailed on Constellation and Summit and loved them ships. They are very easy to walk around, and are beautiful too, but this class ship looks even more beautiful. Can't Wait! :D

  7. It's deck 5 forward where those fancy watch stores are but on the Deck 5 sign it is listed as Galleria Tastings which might have been it's name when launched in 2011.

    Norris

Hi Norris, I think I saw somewhere that you said you upgraded your drink package. Did you get any drinks at the Molecular Bar? Were they included in the drink package? the drinks look amazing there!

These are from what is really an empty corridor as you walk to Ensemble Lounge but I can't stop looking at them as I pass. The sound of birds and a river are piped in. Brilliant! However-those apples have been lying on the floor since we got on the ship. I called Housekeeping and they did nothing about the mess.

    Good Morning Norris!

Where is the Molecular Bar? I can't find it on the deck plans of the ship. I have heard about this bar in other reviews and would like to check it out. Looks like a cool bar where you get different kinds of drinks I heard.

  9. Norris, thank you for the wonderful review. I can't wait to read more. I haven't sailed on Silhouette yet, but I've been on Solstice, Reflection and Eclipse and will be sailing on Equinox in 2017. I've also been on the Summit a couple of times and will be sailing on her again in April. Although the S class and M class have their obvious differences, I enjoy both. I haven't tried LCG yet, but you have me excited to try it. Hope it will be on the Equinox when we sail in 2017!

AngelKappie, Celebrity docks in the Old San Juan pier for port visits, but it departs for new cruises from the Pan Am pier. Norris is definitely in Old San Juan.

    Happy Cruising

Thank you! That is what I thought too. Funny I called Celebrity twice and they both told me Pan American. I even told them what sailing I am on, but I just couldn't believe them!

  10. To be honest I don't know. Maybe my photos and sail-in video have clues?

Closest landmarks were a ferry terminal to our left (seen from the ship, docking bow first) and a big CVS opposite it.

    Norris

It looks like Old San Juan in the photos, I am having a hard time telling. We took Celebrity Summit Cruise last year from the Pan American Pier, that is not walking distance to Old San Juan. Were you walking distance from stores, restaurants, and hotels? Were you close to Sheraton hotel do you remember? You took the Segway from the pier? It looks like you were, which would be awesome then.

  11. Hi Norris!

Really enjoying your review so far! Which pier were you docked at in San Juan? Pan American or Old San Juan Pier? It looks like maybe Old San Juan, Celebrity told me today that they dock for the day in Pan American, I am hoping the lady I talked to was wrong. This would mean we have to take a taxi into Old San Juan.

  12. Are you sure this is San Juan? The mountains and the scenery don't look familiar to me. I'm trying to get my bearings in this shot. I've always sailed into the Pan Am pier early in the morning, so I'm more familiar with the sailaway scenery.

We were only here from 4pm to midnight in Dec 06, I think those are clouds, not mountains if I am correct. It is a cool looking picture, it really looks like mountains behind, but I believe it is not.

YES!!!! It sure is San Juan!!! This is pulling into port on Mariner of the Seas, December 2006!

We decided to skip the ‘Love & Marriage Game’ that was starting at ten and instead went to see Arielle singing with a live band in the Mad Hatter’s Ball.

Hi Mike, what is Tracey's dessert? Looks really yummy!

  15. Mike! GREAT review!!! I LOVE your reviews, was so excited when I came across it tonight! :)

We sailed the Miracle Thanksgiving 2010, I LOVE that ship! :D

We were suppose to go to Grand Turk on the Miracle, but the waters were to rough! We were so BUMMED! Someday hope to get there.

I just LOVE how they made the aft pool, adult only area! LOOKS great. Thank for the awesome pictures!!!!

You and your wife look great as usual! Kids too!!!

  16. It's nice that you got to visit a new port instead of having another sea day! I've never been to CocoCay before. We're going to Labadee on our next cruise. I do love sailing from San Juan at night, that view of El Morro illuminated against the night sky is beautiful.

So glad the Serenade review is helpful! Trunk Bay is the prettiest beach I've ever seen, and I love how quiet it is there. It's my mental "happy place," now, lol!:)

CocoCay and Labadee are BEAUTIFUL!!! :) You will enjoy Labadee, I just hope for you when you go that only 1 ship is in port then. We went when there was 2! Was to CROWDED! BUT still enjoyed it. Just took us a while to find nice chairs near water, I figure if I am going to lay on a chair on the beach I want to see the beach, not people, the water! I love the caribbean water!!! :D

  17. Great photo Kathy! We've sailed from San Juan and leave at night so it's nice to see the city from this point of view. :)

    Thanks Crystal! :)

We were not even suppose to go to PR on that cruise, was suppose to be CocoCAY, But weather was bad so they brought us to PR, we did not pull in until 4ish and weather a bit gloomy, but I loved pulling in was still beautiful! With us sailing out late also on the Adenture we will not be able to see this shot either, will be dark.

I have been reading your review on the Serenade of the Seas, GREAT review, reasoning I am reading the ports you went to are the same we are going to on the Adventure of the Seas. I have been going aback and forth on St Johns, NOW I really want to go to St Johns after reading your review! :)
