  1. I sailed Victory in October we also had the delayed boarding. We boarded with FTTF shortly after 1 PM. Carnival had a place set up for Diamond, Platimum and FTTF guests to sit. They provided water and snacks while we waited. I thought that was a nice touch.... There wasn't any pictures being taken at boarding on this day. Just wanted to add that.

Hi, what happened to those passengers who arrived before 1:30.....

  2. B2b on Glory beginning od Dec. Was not impressed with procedure. Yes we all waited in Amber Palace in the morning. Old cards taken and new sign and sail card given. We then were escorted out to customs. No organization at all enroute. Those who needed assistance followed one person, other group continued. Well, the 2 groups separate. Disaster. 10 Minutes passed before the 2 groups met up. We were kept standing in line waiting until agents decided what to do. Then removed non US residents to another line still not knowing where or what to do with the 2 groups. By this time 20 minutes passed. Agents were still confused where to have Canadian passengers and non Canadian......Uk. Another 10 minutes gone by. US passengers still waiting and quite upset especially diamond and plalt guests.By this time 45 minutes gone by and no movement while we could see all the other passengers going through customs without issues. Finally non US finally sees agent. By this time 11:45. Meet for group pic and champagne.......another 10 minutes gone by. We decided to leave and venture to Lido for lunch......regular passengers began entering Lido....not so impressed and many felt we were treated like a herd cattle. Many of us voiced our thoughts. So no enjoyment of some quiet time and enjoyment of doing b2b. Just maybe b2b should be led off ship before or right after self assist. Early evening fruit basket and bottle of champagne delivered

(Do not know if this is usual)but this gift did not erase the frustration.

  3. I am currently on the Glory and have not seen this enforced. The other night there were at least 4 couples who csme in 35 to 45 minutes. I amin the Plat upper dinning room deck 4 so cannot say what goes on the 3rd deck below......no door closed on 4th deck, they just keep walking in. So whats stopping a passenger to enter upper deck 4, then walk down to 3rd from stairway in deck 4 MDR .

  4. Great seat sale from Canada to FLL but cruise is from POM. Arriving two days early so not a problem but

Regarding flight home the only flight available is 12 noon out of FLL.

Wondering if we could make it (2) and any reliable services to get us there quick. What would you do???? savings well over 150$

    Thanks

  5. Cruising in February. Wondering what is the earliest flight that I should book out of FLL though cruising from POM for flight to Canada?

What is the fastest way to get to FLL airport and earliest to disembark ship? It looks like only flight available is noon.

    Thanks

  6. My wife and I will be on Splendor in July. The ship came out from a 2.0 make over end of March. There is now I believe a Guy Fieri hamburger on the Splendor. A must have excellent burgers....:)

Would love if you did a review upon your return as am thinking of booking this ship in early Dec for a b2b. Have been on the Glory many times and have a cruise booked on the Glory Feb. 2017.

    Thanks

  7. Thinking of cruising this ship early December but am a little concerned with the reviews I have read. So any input re the ship in general, dining, decor, upkeep etc, and what 2.0 is offered.....a good friend will join me but has never been on CCL so any useful info would be greatly appreciate. She thinks Carnival is a party ship. Not sure I could handle the pink.....lol

    Thanks

    Christine

  8. Wondering if better to book this directly with the farm or through CCL. Will be in GC Feb 29th. We are on the glory. If booking directly do they offer pickup and drop off at the pier or is one to get there on their own. Any info regarding this excursion greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

  9. Recycled salt water? About half the water produced onboard is pure distilled water, the remainder is desalinated by reverse osmosis. There is some salt still in this water, but generally not more than say NYC water which gets road salt in it.

Anyway, my feeling is that this is caused by salty food, and the chlorine in the drinking water.

    Possible remedies:

Either drink water from dining venues, bars, or drink dispensers, as these have the chlorine removed, or de-chlorinate your own water by keeping a pitcher of it open in the fridge or on the desk for a couple hours. Chlorine can contribute to water retention.

Put your lifejackets under the mattress at the foot of the bed, to elevate your feet at night.

Stand in the pool. The additional water pressure on your ankles, over that on the rest of your body (at lesser depth) will "redistribute" any retained water to other locations around your body.

Drink more water. Contrary as this sounds, water retention can be caused by low water intake.

I have this problem. I drink distiled water at home definitely not the same on ship and do not drink ships water, reverse osm water and 3 L a day bottled water at home and while cruising . Have tried no salt diet in MDR by request and really watch at the Lido mainly fresh veggies etc. So yes there is salt in the air is the only answer. Ankles and feet swell so bad never know which shoes I will be able to wear.....so pack 6 pairs. Cabin stewart usually fills my zip lock bags with ice in the evening and have also used life jackets. So what is next.......will not stop cruising because of this.

  10. Ontario here so same situation here. We opened an American savings account at our bank. Just recently got a U.S. dollar Visa credit card as well. Now we put a little money in the account each week so less painful. And we save the exchange rate fees when we put it on our U.S. visa card.... every little bit of a savings helps.

Did you get the US Visa from your Bank in Canada? I have been looking into that but have run into setbacks....MC will not. NCL does have Can Funds if you sail with them. We book Med next October with them (our first cruise with NCL) and was offered exchange rate of 1.10 in Sept. and stays locked in until we cruise. So will put some money in OBC before we cruise and then cash out in USF.So hope the rate is good in October 2016.
