  1. We started on Rhapsody and then Explorer, Adventure, Oasis, Allure, Voyager...  Booked a GS on Grandeur for April. Haven't cruised since 2019 and our April 2020 was the first to fall to the cancellations.  😕  Looking to get the most out of it back on the smaller ship. If anyone has sailed "Lady G" and used Suite perk and Diamond, let us know your recommendations.  Thank You.

  2. I've looked around and found some info here, just wondering if anyone having experience on both Royal Caribbean and Celebrity could easily answer a couple quick questions.  We're experienced RCCL cruisers at Diamond level, cruised once on Millennium a long time ago in the old "cabin has a window" days.  So what is the comparison level on Celebrity for:

    RCCL Diamond = Celebrity ????

RCCL Diamond Benefits = Celebrity ???

A Junior Suite on RCCL = Celebrity ???

A Grand Suite on RCCL = Celebrity ???

RCCL Suite Benefits  = Celebrity ???

Not looking for anything in depth, not looking for reviews, just to help get a feel for Celebrity scales of cabins & service.

    THANK YOU

    -Bob

  3. Is waiting in line for WJ just to get in still a thing?  I'll never forget the first time on OASIS when there was actually a line simply to get in for breakfast, never mind just finding a table.  That really turned me.  I now prefer booking suites and having breakfast in the special restaurant and is the one thing that makes cruising special for me now.

  4. Got off Oasis a couple weeks ago. I will have to agree and definitely made it a point in my guest survey that Bar Service has indeed dropped off. Where there was once 4 or 5 bartenders, there are 2. Where before you couldn't help but bump into someone on the pool deck carrying a tray, calling out "Bar Service? Bar Service?" , there were MANY fewer. Had to flag them down and make them notice you.

This was our first experience with a pre-paid drink package and I've been second guessing ever since. Sure, they DON'T know who has a sticker on their SeaPass or not, however, if a lot of packages sold have already made them a tidy profit and already paid 18% gratuities, why exert yourself?

  5. After a 3 year hiatus from cruising, we were on Oasis last week, finally, with our acquired Diamond status. We gave the Premium Beverage Package a shot. I love a challenge and we were up to trying to drink our way even after the considerable extra expense. We fantasized about just giving the Seapass and not having to mess with pens and paperwork, receipts, tracking expenses while on vacation. The idea of ordering another drink the instant the ice began to melt was very appealing. Even though the 18% was included, we felt compelled to grant the extra $1 with a blank receipt thrust in our face, when it happened, which was all but the Dinner Table.

We DID notice a distinct lack of bar service in public areas. It wasn't too long ago when you heard "Bar Service?" like every minute on the pool decks when they were 'selling' drinks. Now they are just fulfilling their part of the package...SLOWLY. :( You actually had to flag them down and hope they would notice you.

There was DEFINITELY a shortage of Bartenders and they sure worked at their own pace. This was not the Royal Caribbean treatment to which we had become accustomed.

I will be submitting my online survey this week and it's going to be disappointing.

  6. So I am new to cruising. On RCI, are we permitted to decorate our cabin doors? It wouldn't be anything obscene or anything that sticks out into the hall and impedes traffic, of course, but if it's permitted I am planning to cover most of the door.

This was our cabin door on RCCL Explorer for Halloween 2008. Everybody liked it and we got no hassles. Just be sure it doesn't get in the way for the room stewards.
