  1. I love cruising with NCL. I like the relaxed way of doing things and how they treat people in wheelchairs. I have been on the Pearl 3 times and will do my 4th cruise on her soon and then follow that with the Escape.

As for the Tasmanian comment - people down here also talk about going to Australia next week. Amazed me when I first moved here.

  2. I think you should google 28 degree MasterCard reviews before going ahead with this! Some were very scathing.

I have had one of these cards since 2010 and have not had any issues until this year. My overseas cruise payment bounced. I now have 2 cards this one and a Bankwest Mastercard. I am hoping that if one does not work the other one will.

  3. Where do you see that this is not covered please? I read unlimited overseas medical and dental cover, and see no exclusions. It is the same for basic or comprehensive cover, as far as I can see in the policy wording.

I am not sure what policy you are looking at but it should have a separate listing for emergency medical. If not it is likely they do not cover it. I would give them a call and ask outright if they will cover airlift from a ship.

  4. We had a similar experience on the Pearl in Alaska. We went to a special forum where they asking about the markets in other areas to where they normally cruised. We answered their questions, had some lovely snacks and free drinks.

That night we had some treats in our cabin and were upgraded to eat breakfast in the steak house. Treats every night and on the last night a free meal int he specialty restaurant.

Like you we do not know why but loved feeling special.

  5. I won a bottle of wine as well, at my M&M, on the Cyclone Marcia cruise.

And we get a bottle of champagne as a welcome back on every cruise.:)

Instead of carrying it home every time, we shall have to start consuming it.:D:D:D

Can I ask how and why you get a bottle of wine as a welcome back?

We had the premium drinks package last cruise on the Rhapsody and it was great. You can get any wine by the glass up to $12. At dinner they watched and as we got near the bottom of the glass they asked if we wanted another one. The best part was I could have what i wanted and so could my husband.

  6. I too have had great support from crew and staff on RCCL ships, including the Oasis.

My daughter was allowed to zip line on the Oasis and the Sports Deck Manager made sure she was safe and assisted us to get her wheelchair down to the bottom for her after she zip lined.

  7. We flew into Fort Lauderdale for our cruise on the Oasis. We flew with Delta to LAX and then with Alaska Air. Both were wonderful.

We stayed at Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale and requested a room overlooking the port. I got up at 5-30 and watched our huge ship sail in and it was wonderful. This hotel has a free full buffet breakfast and a managers special with free drinks for 2 hours each night. It is right beside shops and there is a trolley into the more touristy area.

We did the Western Caribbean and loved it. Labidee was a lot of fun and much more than just a zip line there. In Jamaica we did a tour to Bob Marleys Tomb and it was fantastic. In Mexico we swam with dolphins and had a mother and baby swim with us.

You will love the Oasis but be warned by dat 3 or 4 you will notice how much walking you are doing.

  8. Bring back cash...bring back cash.....bring back cash.........:D:eek: sorry, couldn't help myself :p

Cash is still an option. I avoid all of this by having an international credit card that I only use for cruising and overseas purchases. No conversion fee, no annual charge and the holds do not matter as it is not something I use for everyday needs. Even better you apply for it online. Best holiday accessory I have every had.
