The food is always very subjective but I found it to be perfectly acceptable and I never went hungry, dress code is reasonably casual with normally one dress to impress night on a 7 night trip if one feels the need to dress up, long trousers only in the MDR's.

Theatre shows are generally very good and professional, guest acts normally a comedian I've always found to be good and not sweary, the late shows can be a bit closer the the edge but never derogatory.

Resident bands in the various venues also generally very good, performing to most musical tastes.

Although it's all inclusive cruising, I never really witnessed any unruly behaviours other than the odd person with the wobbles.

The crew are still the best I've ever experienced at sea, across several cruiselines.

    I hope you enjoy.

    Love the new photo!

We are not  into anything perverse or X rated,  but P and O sounds like a real buzz kill...seriously no  bride tee shirts..?  Don't they  have bridal showers and hen parties on board?   What about team logos?

Yes they DO have hen parties onboard, but personalised and slogan tees are definately NOT allowed.  We were actually witness to the hen party in the embarkation hall being told to remove their sashes.  As GastroGnome says, another reason not to sail with them.

Just off Equinox.  Saw some political t-shirts.  Doesn't affect my cruising enjoyment.  Saw a "I don't need Google; my wife knows everything" one.  My favorite that I've seen on all my cruises was "Don't Yell At Me!  I'm A Volunteer!"

    Love it!

Celebrity probably sells T-shirts with slogans long the same lines as the ones you mention.

A ban?  Does any line ban personalized T-shirts?  I don't know.

Believe me there are some lines that do indeed.  On P & O cruises ALL personalised, slogan and funny tees are banned.  A wedding party in embarkation hall was made to remove their "Bride""Bridesmaid" and "Mother of the bride" sashes or be denied embarkation. I would never wear a political tee, especially in the current uk/europe situation, but I wanted to make sure I would not be causing myself a problem.  My daughter printed me a tee saying "I dont do mornings unless I am on a cruise" and I was informed by P & O that I would be asked to change if I wore it!!!  Thanks everyone for your replies

When are you going?  It is a shame we cannot all have a sense of humour about these things but I agree a definite NONO.  I am from Truro and cruising on Silhouette to Fort Lauderdale at the end of this month.

We are doing med on 12th October, hello to another cornish resident

  6. Hi,  does anyone know if there is a ban on Celebrity regarding the wearing of slogan or personalised tee-shirts.  I have a few, NEVER offensive but some funny, e.g. "life is short, eat cake", "cruising my way through life"  "child of vikings" and such slogans.   Dont  want to cause offence.  All replies welcome

I have often seen 7:30-9:00 on port days and 8:00-9:30 on sea days.

They do have a continental breakfast-type items in Michael's Club early (coffee, tea, pastries, bagels and lox, etc.).

Thanks, might have to do that then, do you know what time they open?

It’s not done on a ship by ship basis but an Executive Chef basis, and they move between ships. The Executive Chef who did it when we were last on Aurora was Lester Calvalho, so there is a reasonable chance that any ship that he is on might do it (he’s on a very different rota to most staff - I think he does 2 months on / 2 months off - but, as with everyone else, can move ships each contract). However, for it to happen, both the Executive Chef and either the Senior Restaurant Manager or Food and Beverage Manager have to be willing, as it’s quite a commitment for them. We were lucky that Lester and the Senior Restaurant Manager on our last cruise are good friends, but it was the first time in 7 Cruises on Aurora that it had happened and we have been on all other P&O ships over the years and never seen it. The standard Glasshouse Tasting Dinner (mentioned by a few people above) tends to happen on all cruises longer than a week. It’s a nice evening if you’ve never done it and a lot cheaper (£25 a head from memory) but isn’t a patch on the Chefs Table.

    Thanks Selbourne

  9. Does anyone know to correctly utilise  "packing cubes"?  I have been given a set and cant see any advantage over the usual tips "stuff sock, undies etc in shoes"  If anyone knows better, please advise.

  10. I have been given some packing cubes and have absolutely no idea how to best utilise them.  I imagine I just put stuff in them and then place in the suitcase but cant see how this is advantageous.  I would welcome some advice from those cruisers who regularly use them regarding how to pack them and what are the advantages of them over the usual tips such as "packing  socks, undies etc. inside shoes".  Thanks fellow cruisers
