I have done some research with catching the TGV to Avignon from Marseille this July but hoping the knowledgable people who post on this board could help finesse my ideas.

 

 

 

We will be in port on a Monday from 9am to 11pm so lots of time to do this. We will be on Seabourn Encore so only 600 pax to contend with. I am planning/hoping to get the earliest train possible dependent on timing to get to the train station.

 

 

 

My questions

 

1) As it is a TGV is it best to book ~ 3 months ahead to get the best pricing? If so, what time to you think is the likely most achievable?

 

 

 

2) When we arrive in Avignon what public transport option is best to use to get to the old town? Or are taxis not too bad price wise and just get a taxi, under €10?

 

 

 

3) We are planning to visit the Popes Palace, get the ferry across to Barthelasse island so I can get a photo from that side of Saint Benezet's Bridge, go to the large public garden on the hill to admire the view. Any other recommendations are welcome.

Hi, cruising on the Silver Spirit from Athens to Venice next month. I chose some restaurant bookings online as soon as I could a few months back. Everything has been fine every time I have checked since. However, today I noticed that suddenly I have been wait listed for the final evening of our cruise for a booking we had at Le Champagne. Can anyone shed any light on why this would happen? We are Silversea Virgins..:) Thanks.

yes we are on Silver Spirit Athens to Venice in August. This is our first Silverseas Cruise . We have done two cruises on Oceania one in the Mediterranean and one in the Baltic. Looking forward to trying a different line. Was trying to start a roll call without much luck

We did a Baltic Cruise last year with Oceania and were in St Petersburgh for 3 nights. We booked thru an outside operator called SPT tours. They were excellent and we had not problem. I think you will find there are several posts about this company elsewhere in CC. Hope that helps

We had one of the cabins at the aft on Nautical which was next to an owners suite and after two nights of no sleep we were ready to get off at the next port. We were lucky and the the staff moved us to the only room available that was on level 6in the middle of the ship. Perfect. I had read a few reports that there was a bit of vibration and was not worried but it was unbearable. We have been on Nautica again since and went middle of ship. We loved our cruises with Nautica

I looked up the web site that was on this thread for where the ships are docked and ours is at Kanavaterminaali. I then looked at the map but could not find it. Does anybody know how to get to Market Square from there. Thanks
