I’m relieved to see it’s not just me. Just booked a cruise for February and there are almost no excursions listed. I recognize some sell out but I would expect more than 13 total in three ports.

Thanks. I saw on the FAQ it said 48 hours after deposit which is why i was confused.

If I book a cruise with RCCL, and then see it offered at a lower price, I thought I saw RCCL only will lower the price within 48 hours of booking. Is that true?
If not, what is the rule?
I know Carnival has definitely honored better prices in the past with me. Just curious as it's been about 8 years since I sailed with RCCL.
Thanks!

If you like the solarium and it's pool then Harmony is not for you.
There's been no word about symphony having it, has there?

Best advice yet.
I'm driven by Saturday departures normally too.
Also for where I fly from it is less time and cheaper to get to San Juan than Miami/FLL so I am also a guy who doesn't do new until the new car smell has almost worn off just to justify the flights to FLA.
I'd love to do them both. My wife sort of wants to do Harmony so we have something to work up to with Symphony

I'm really torn. They're so similar. Wondering if Harmony will be more polished than Symphony since it's been a few years she's been afloat.

Yes for our cruise Harmony was more than $600 more at opening day. We're cruising March break so the premium might be for Sunday departure (Harmony) vs Saturday departure (Symphony) as Saturday means skipping school/work on the Friday.

I'm looking for either December and January. My wife wants to do Western Caribbean so my options are more limited.

I have been on Harmony three times and so far it's my favorite ship that I have sailed and will be on the symphony in 2019 and looking forward to the new features and shows

Anything in particular you love that makes it your favorite?

Leaving on a Saturday works better for us. This way we have a day to do laundry and catch up on missed sleep before going back to work.

I agree with you on this. Especially flying in, I'd love to have an extra day.

We were happy with either one but select Symphony over Harmony since it was quite a bit less (but neither cheap [emoji6]).
Also if it matters to you...Harmony has Sunday departure vs Symphony having Saturday departure.
Harmony has DreamWorks. Symphony doesn't (unless that changes).
Symphony has Laser Tag...and some of the new shows look neat with Flight and maybe extra features at Aque Theatre?
I haven't seen it but some complain of Solarium pool on Harmony . Not sure if Symphony's will be bigger.

Wow, Symphony was cheaper? The cheapest I've found is it being $200 more than Harmony

Your profile doesn't say where your from. Is it easier for you to get to Miami or Fort Lauderdale? Cheaper? For me in Ohio, it is significantly different.
I'm from the Philly area. It definitely is more expensive to Miami, but a few hundred bucks wouldn't necessarily sway me one way or the other.

Would you rather see Grease (Harmony) or Hairspray (Symphony)?
Personally, Grease. But I'm not huge into the plays

Looking to go on a cruise in December or January, and debating between Harmony and Symphony. I know there are some nuances between the two. I've been on Oasis back in 2011 and really enjoyed it.
Is there any reason to choose one over the other besides price? Obviously Symphony will feel a bit newer, but Harmony is still fairly new too.
Any input would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks everyone. Like I said, it has been six years since my last cruise on RCCL, so I couldn't remember.
Appreciate it!
-
It's been around 6 years since I cruised, and if I remember right, there was a time to purchase the package where it was actually a little cheaper. I want to say right when we left port, because then we didn't pay tax.
Is there any benefit to pre-purchasing or waiting?
Thanks!

Do you think Carnival will follow suit? I'm scheduled to go on Sunshine Dec 1st and St. Maarten and San Juan were on the original itinerary, but were replaced with Amber Cove. Any chance carnival puts these back on?
-
In case anyone is interested, the itinerary changed on here, eliminating San Juan and St. Maarten. Grand Turk and St. Kitts remain, and Amber Cove was added.
I'm happy Grand Turk stayed. I am a little annoyed that they didn't add a fourth port, since that's what I paid for and can't really cancel at this point. So, we get 3 ports instead of four.
At least Grand Turk stayed on. It's better than nothing. Just an FYI to anyone who is on this cruise.

Looking forward to our second trip on the Sunshine on Dec. 1st. Great ship!
I'm on that cruise too! Really looking forward to sailing on her for the first time. Wondering how the itinerary will change, but whatever it is, it should be fine. I expect we'll end up in the Western Caribbean.

Obviously the crime is an issue, but the statement said they only had minor inconvenience so far from the storm. Sure doesn't look like that on the news.

I'm on the same cruise as the OP. I expect St maarten is definitely a no. The others, not sure yet. It's bad but they may have some of it rebuilt but it won't be close to normal. I'm going no matter what. I'd be happy to contribute any help I can by visiting and patronizing for islands.

I'm on the Sunshine the first week of December to Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Kitts and St. Maarten. I expect a revised itinerary, although I haven't experienced anything like this. I expect St. Maarten is definitely not gonna happen. Curious to see what else. As a previous poster mentioned, is there an expectation when Carnival would revise an itinerary?

Travel Guard, Travel Insured or Travelex, be sure to purchase within the time limit in order to waive the PEC for the daughter. Is she traveling with you? Also be sure to cover all prepaid NR costs.
She isn't on this trip. Thanks for the help!

Hi everyone,
Hopefully, a quick question. I'm going on a cruise in December and I want to get trip insurance - preferably through a third-party. I booked only a few days ago.
Essentially, I'm looking for a plan that will cover in the event of trip cancellation due to illness (not just my own, but my girlfriend's daughter has a pre-existing condition that is pretty serious. She's been healthy (knock on wood) but would like to have a plan that would cover the cancellation in the event of illness. Everything else, I could use the basic benefits.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

You do realize it's about an hour to the port? That is a heck of a free ride!
Yep. I don't think I said I expected free. Just a reasonable fare. Don't expect a free one hour ride lol

I did. Apparently an update broke stuff. If you use Internet Explorer, it seems to work. Only showing 13 on my phone. 123 on IE.
