  1. Best advice yet.

I'm driven by Saturday departures normally too.

Also for where I fly from it is less time and cheaper to get to San Juan than Miami/FLL so I am also a guy who doesn't do new until the new car smell has almost worn off just to justify the flights to FLA.

I'd love to do them both. My wife sort of wants to do Harmony so we have something to work up to with Symphony

  2. Yes for our cruise Harmony was more than $600 more at opening day. We're cruising March break so the premium might be for Sunday departure (Harmony) vs Saturday departure (Symphony) as Saturday means skipping school/work on the Friday.

I'm looking for either December and January. My wife wants to do Western Caribbean so my options are more limited.

  3. We were happy with either one but select Symphony over Harmony since it was quite a bit less (but neither cheap [emoji6]).

Also if it matters to you...Harmony has Sunday departure vs Symphony having Saturday departure.

Harmony has DreamWorks. Symphony doesn't (unless that changes).

Symphony has Laser Tag...and some of the new shows look neat with Flight and maybe extra features at Aque Theatre?

I haven't seen it but some complain of Solarium pool on Harmony . Not sure if Symphony's will be bigger.

Wow, Symphony was cheaper? The cheapest I've found is it being $200 more than Harmony

  4. Looking to go on a cruise in December or January, and debating between Harmony and Symphony. I know there are some nuances between the two. I've been on Oasis back in 2011 and really enjoyed it.

Is there any reason to choose one over the other besides price? Obviously Symphony will feel a bit newer, but Harmony is still fairly new too.

Any input would be really appreciated.

    Thanks.

  5. In case anyone is interested, the itinerary changed on here, eliminating San Juan and St. Maarten. Grand Turk and St. Kitts remain, and Amber Cove was added.

I'm happy Grand Turk stayed. I am a little annoyed that they didn't add a fourth port, since that's what I paid for and can't really cancel at this point. So, we get 3 ports instead of four.

At least Grand Turk stayed on. It's better than nothing. Just an FYI to anyone who is on this cruise.

  6. I'm on the Sunshine the first week of December to Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Kitts and St. Maarten. I expect a revised itinerary, although I haven't experienced anything like this. I expect St. Maarten is definitely not gonna happen. Curious to see what else. As a previous poster mentioned, is there an expectation when Carnival would revise an itinerary?

  7. Hi everyone,

Hopefully, a quick question. I'm going on a cruise in December and I want to get trip insurance - preferably through a third-party. I booked only a few days ago.

Essentially, I'm looking for a plan that will cover in the event of trip cancellation due to illness (not just my own, but my girlfriend's daughter has a pre-existing condition that is pretty serious. She's been healthy (knock on wood) but would like to have a plan that would cover the cancellation in the event of illness. Everything else, I could use the basic benefits.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
