  1. Hi. We are on Seaview at the minute with my 9 and 7 year old and I imagine things are fairly similar to Seaside. I don't know what the ratio is but there always seems to be plenty of staff around. My 7 year old has learning disabilities and ADHD and he loved the kids club on Divina and loves it on Seaview. We have to restrict when they go otherwise they would spend all their time there when they're not in the aqua park. I've found the staff on both ships to be really friendly and on the ball - they seem to genuinely love working with kids and the range of activities on offer is great.

  2. I will be boarding the Seaview November 9th in Barcelona. I want to know about the food. Someone I know said she was told the food is horrible. Do you think you could post a menu and list the classic favorites? We booked a guarantee for a 01 Ocean View cabin. There is no roll call for any Seaview cruises and very few reviews. Thanks for this thread. Lenore Krivo lkrivo@comcast.net
Hi. I always think it's really difficult to say about food as it's so subjective. For example my husband was delighted to find baby octopus at the buffet whereas I wouldn't eat that even if I was paid to. [emoji23] I'm not crazy about the food on MSC but that's because I don't eat a lot of meat or fish and I really love rich, spicy food like Indian and Asian. That said, I've mainly liked what I have eaten. And of course the pizza is great!

  3. We are in an Aurea balcony cabin. MSC call it a suite but it's not really - it's just a slightly bigger cabin with a slightly bigger bathroom. We are at the aft so have a huge wraparound balcony though which is great - amazing views. We received the all inclusive drinks package, thermal area access and 2 massages as part of the Aurea experience. And access to a bar area/sunlounge area with hot tubs on deck 19 that's for Aurea and Wellness guests. It's nice but the kids are in the aqua park a lot so we stay near there and haven't used deck 19 much.

We didn't buy a fun pass (not entirely sure why as it would have made sense). But, as it turns out, the kids club have taken the kids to the 4D cinema and my (tall) 7 year old is too small for the formula one car. My 9 year old loves the zip wire though and has been on it 3 times. Barely any queue each time.

The sofa-bed turns into a bed but I think there are some cabins with bunks instead. I'll post a picture in a bit.

  4. Ah, I know, the photos are a bit misleading. They've either been taken very early (the kids get up with the sun [emoji849]) or when the majority are off exploring (we've been to these parts a fair few times so we've just got off and had a bit of a wander and had a lot more time on the ship than normal).

The sofa-bed is closed back up every morning so the cabin becomes a lot more spacious again. I suspect a lot of balcony cabins might not have the same awkwardness as ours. We've got 14262 right at the back and the layout seems to be a bit different. I've had a quick peek at our neighbours' while the door was open and the desk arrangement doesn't stretch as far as the sofa bed, so there might be more space to get past to the balcony.

I've taken a photo of the pool area as it is now to give a better idea of how busy it is and a bar and activity menu with prices. Hope they're helpful - I've relied on this forum so much for a few years so it's nice to be able to give some info back.

  5. I'd love a bit more variety in the buffet. We've used it quite a lot as it's just easier with the kids, but it's very samey. We were on Divina in the Carribean this winter and found that was the same - and some of the menu items are identical.

The only thing that's a bit of a pain (literally) is that we have to clamber over the sofa bed when it's open to get to the balcony. If I've banged my leg once, I've done it 100 times.

The staff are very friendly and the kids LOVE kids club (they've said they like MSC better than Royal Caribbean and Norwegian).

All in all its pretty great so far.

    Here's some more photos!

  6. Just need to correct some information about prices as we've since found out the prices guest services gave us weren't right.

The funpass starts at 25 euro with 5 euro credit.

Bowling is 25 euro for 30 mins and 45 euro for an hour.

We've only eaten in the MDR once so far as I've not been crazy about what's on offer. I'm a picky sod though so I suspect it's a case of 'its not you it's me'.

The tables are verrry close together. We ate quite early though and it wasn't busy so we were spared sitting on someone else's knee (or close enough!).

I've not been to the sports bar yet but hubby is bound to go and I'll ask if he can find out about the booths.

  7. Hi - We are doing the same cruise as you in early August with both daughter and grand kids. A couple of questions I wonder if you could clarify:

    a. How strict are MSC regarding the time you can join the ship? We have been given a embarkation time of 14:40 but the flight we booked months ago gets in at around 11:00 so we would prefer to go straight to the ship.

    b. I have seen conflicting comments regarding the need to reserve a place in the theatre - can you clarify?

    and

    c. Could you tell whether there are long waits for the main attractions, such as water slides, zip wire, and bowling?

    Many thanks:)

    Pet

    Hiya

Based on my kids reactions so far (9 and 7) your grandkids will have a blast.

We were scheduled to board at 14.50 but were on board by noon with no problems.

It's probably best to book for the shows as the theatre gets full. They will let people in who haven't reserved just before the show starts/if there are any seats left. You can book through the TV in your room and it's really easy - just pick a showtime and whoever is going. You don't book an actual seat.

The waterslides aren't too busy at all. We haven't been bowling or to the zipwire yet - but we have promised the kids so I'll let you know :)

  8. Hi there

We are doing this cruise in October and I'd be gratetful if you could let us know how much the zipline, F1 simulator and bowling is if you don't mind. Also any pics of the ship/cabins etc would be great. Thank you

    Hi Karen

They cost 9 euro each but theres a funpass package available and if e.g. you buy a 15 euro package you get an extra 5 euro credit. The greater the value of the package, the more credit you get.

I've taken a few photos but don't know how to upload them. I'll try and figure it out! :)

  9. Hello :)

We are sailing in April 2019. If you have chance could you let me know the following

Is there a quiet seating area in the library ?

If not could you suggest any quiet areas ? My 16 year old son will be doing some GCSE exam revision and is happy anywhere with a seat, table and relatively quiet.

    thank you ,

    nicky

    Hi

Sorry just replying. I've taken a photo of the library for you but don't know how to upload it:confused::confused::confused:.

It's quite small and there's a billiards table in there, so might not be great for your son. But the outside seating area for the buffet at the sides of the ship seem to be reasonably quiet a lot of the time, and some of the bars are really quiet during daytime so they might be an option?

Hope that helps a wee bit.

  10. It's felt like eons since we booked so it definitely is fantastic to be on board! So far so good - embarkation was super efficient and our luggage arrived really quickly. And the ship is beautiful.

  11. I had the pleasure to be onboard for the christening. You will find my first photos here. A full ship review will follow during the next days. But first I have to check almost 1,500 photos :').

I missed the fireworks as everything was late and we were still at dinner. We went out just in time for the Zucchero concert.

Really looking forward to your review. We'll be on board at the end of July and can't wait!

Would you be able to let me know the depth of the swimming pools on board please? I read somewhere that all pools on the Seaside were 6ft deep and was wondering if it's the same on the Seaview.

    Thanks :D:D
