  1. Hi all.

Quick question on the casino on Fantasia (possibly the same for all MSC) if anyone could enlighten please.

We are sailing on Fantasia shortly and my wife does like to invest a few dollars (or indeed Euros) into the slot machines.

My question, if you could assist, is this: how do you 'pay' for your spins on MSC? I ask this for on previous cruises we have popped in our cruise-card, 'invested' our cash , and played the machine. With the cost being applied to our onboard account. Normally ending with discussions later on how close we got to 'the big one' :D. However, on our last cruise (Celebrity) we had to insert dollar bills, which, being a European cruise, were in somewhat short supply . USD were availiable at the cash-desk - for a 5% 'fee'

So, do I need a wad of Euros? Or can I be content that our cruise-card will suffice?

    Many thanks.

From MSC website: We’ve made it easier than ever to have the best experience in our onboard casinos. Here’s how:

•Your Cruise Card is also your casino player’s card. Insert it into the slot machine to start play and for the tables, just hand it to the dealer before every session on play.

•Our Casino Hosts are experts at introducing you to all the games that we.

I don't know about the tables but I'll "bet" it's cash.

We use the Chase ATM and credit card and they do NOT charge a foreign transaction fee plus I get paid back for any fee the atm charges! In my opinion it's the best card to have in your wallet!

  2. We were on the NCL Sky and did the art auction on our last night. I agree with most that they are a bunch of pompous asses and and look forward to my next cruise. I will tag a bunch and sit back and laugh.

Now our experience was buying 5 Thomas Kinkade "piantings". We tag the first one and won the auction as tagged. Next they bring up a total or 6 paintings and offer any 5 for $1000. Now, we just spent $450 for one, so the math is going off in my head like the fourth of july. DW is giddy about the chance to get 5 works (sic) of art. Now I have to deal with the auctioneer, their dude sitting next to DW and her big blue eyes saying, please!! I was backed into a corner with no escape.

After we went to the display area to pick our choices, at which time I asked, "We will get these exact paintings?, Yes??? Oh certainly, we will take these down and ship them to you.

Now the rub. What was sent to us was nothing more than a photo copy of the prints ordered, yes I know they call them lithographs but we were told we purchased "these" paintings.

Typical "BAIT and SWITCH"!!!! Never again.:mad::mad:

So we sent our "art" back and its been sitting in there basement for a week waiting for shipping to scan it's arrival. Then we have to wait for NCL to send us the funds spent less a 15% restocking fee, which we can use on our next purchase.

So, go, tag and sit back and laugh, just say no to bidding.
