Our first was a 4 day 1996 on the Fantasy out of Port Canaveral. I remember driving into the port and was amazed by her huge size. Our last was on the Harmony of the Seas that looks down on the Fantasy size ships. From small to large, they've all been fun.

We used to punch a hole and use a lanyard. On the Harmony of the Seas you can't punch a hole as the card has an embedded RFID chip and an antenna that goes around the edge of the card. So at least on that ship we use a lanyard with a plastic sleeve. I use a lanyard but keep it in my pocket so it's easier to locate it when I need it.

As they old saving goes, locks keep honest people honest.

We always use the safe as we carry money for the casino. On the last night before going to bed I open it and leave it open just in case the lock batteries fail or if there is some other problem I don't want to have to deal with on the last morning.
And be kind and don't re-lock it when leaving. Last cruise it took us all day to get it unlocked as the crew is very busy that first day. It was empty.

Saw her in Key West on Sunday. Area below the anchor looked nicely painted white.

Some 2,000 passengers on the ship are not driving their cars around back home. If you are concerned, you can stay home in bed, turn off the lights and air conditioning and cook your dinner over a wood stove. Oops, that won't work because you will have to chop down trees for firewood and then there's all that smoke.

If we want to talk about work inequities, or getting paid for doing nothing, can I please be compensated for the 40,000 cigarette breaks I didn't take during my working years?
Seems to me that stewards and other similar type professions are "on duty" during their assigned working hours, whether they are actually doing anything, efficient or not.

False.
It is a prayer, nothing needs to be said to the group including some so called interfaith declaration prior to eating.
Your categorically brazen declaration that it was not a prayer indicates that you wouldn't be interested in anything that doesn't fit with your person definitions for such things. You've made it very clear that trying to help you understand online would be a waste of time. Maybe if we're face to face on a cruise ship someday you'll be less brazen in categorical dismissing of perspectives that don't fit well with yours and I can share some insights.I'd be interested to see you definition of "prayer" - and of "false".Sent from my B3-A30 using Forums mobile app

Having steel drum lessons for passengers at the pool. Like banging on garbage cans.

All this makes me think of one of the popular items on the what to pack list. A pad of sticky notes to leave messages for the steward. Sounds like a high maintenance type of person. Probably in all of my 49 cruises I've probably left a note once or twice. The were many cruises where I maybe met the steward once during the entire week.
Perhaps we have an uncomfortable feeling about the hard working cabin stewards in general as the majority of us do not have personal butlers or maids in our normal life?

It's funny how some will claim they have an open mind....until you disagree with them. That's why we avoid group tables.

You are just screwing up the system. The steward will keep coming back to see if you removed the door tag. He/she will be worried that something is wrong. Also, if the fridge has products in it, they will want to visit each day.
Lighten their load by not being high maintenance. We left the room for maybe an hour and it was serviced. Other times we've been out on the balcony and seems the morning service was 10 minutes or so. Not a big deal if the steward can keep up with his daily process.

So the elephant in the digital room is how do they take 1000's of digital photos and save you from searching through all for just yours?
I assume they are using some form of facial recognition software to sort them digitally. We never get photos taken so I don't know how the digital photo gallery actually works.

What I don't want to hear is someone telling me about the past 100 cruises they've been on....every night. Reminds me of the 60's going into the aunt and uncle's basement family room to watch movies or slides of their vacation.
So we only do two tops.

We head for the buffet since we skipped breakfast and then get a drink with the money we saved by not doing FTTF.

I seem to recall seeing a passport stamp booth at Amber Cove in the shopping area to the left.

Usually there is a floor drain near or behind the toilet to catch shower overflow. Perhaps it dried out and needed a bit of water poured in.

Is it scientifically proved that knuckles are immune to germs?
I push buttons as normal, with fingers, even when norovirus is about. I've never caught it. Maybe because I'm the only one touching the buttons?
PS - anyone who hates to touch objects tat other people have touched, let me know next time we're queueing in the same shop - I'll be happy to look after your change!
You're probably right about the knuckles, so I'll have to start using my elbow.
Who uses cash anymore?

We do knuckles and don't touch the handrails. As for the elevator "door close" button don't waste your time as they are rarely connected to anything.
If the casino chips are clay based, cleaning is a very complicated process so I assume they are probably never cleaned let alone disinfected.
So as someone mentioned earlier, we keep our hands from our faces in the casino until we leave and do a good wash up.

Hmm...maybe these gift givers are on to something. In all the years I worked, I forgot about all my Christmas bonouses that were cash. They only one that sticks in my mind was the time I got a coupon for a turkey to get at the supermarket.
The cash ones were better.

It's usually around 1:00. They will make an announcement over the PA or you can wait in the stairwell/elevator lobby around that time until they open the fire doors closing off the cabin corridors.

If it's OBC from cashing in points from the RCCL BofA credit card, any of that unused OBC will be credited back to your CC balance. I just did that with $400 on a cruise in March. Or as others have said, take out money against your room charge account OBC at the casino minus 5%.
Some other OBCs may not be refundable so use them up or charge for cash in the casino.
Just ask at the service desk, they will tell you what OBC is refundable, I did so just to make sure on the last evening.
