  1. My sister and my son went to Magic Kingdom and only had 3 hours in the park, his only goal was to go to the Country Bear Jamboree and to meet the Bear Characters. He is on the Autism Spectrum and animatronics is his focus so he was thrilled to be able to see the show 5 times and then meet a few of the Bears. It cost $60 for the transfers and $138 for the Ticket to MK, so a very high cost for 3 hours but he was happy and that is all that mattered.

Myself, Husband and son took the bus to Coco Beach and were not really impressed, not much to do but go through a few shops and the beach was just ok. I wished we had just stayed on the ship and enjoyed the pool. Neither boy are in to the KSC.

  2. Hello,

We are sailing Saturday on the Gem. My sister who is in a different cabin is looking to purchase two for the $500 and then will receive the $250 OBC. She is looking to purchase a soda card for my boys who are traveling with me in a different cabin, as well as pay for and excursion and the social media package. Is she able to use her OBC for things attached to other people in a different room. Is the OBC room specific? If she purchases the FCC when we get onboard how soon does she receive the OBC?

    Thank you!

  3. Hello!

We are going on the Gem in a little over a week and are considering getting the social media package to keep in touch with my mom at home. Can anyone let me know how it worked and are you able to video chat on messenger?

    Thanks!!

  4. Hello All!

We are sailing out of the Manhattan Cruise Terminal on Saturday May, 26th 2018 which is Memorial Day weekend. We have looked in to a few options of driving in the night before, taking the train in the day of and flying in the morning of. We are thinking of leaving Mass very early in the morning and driving to the pier the day we sail. Has anyone done this and how long did it take you? We are wondering how the traffic would be impacted by the holiday. We live right on the NH border.

    Thank you!

  5. By the time you get down toward the outer & inner loop around Boston, everybody else heading out of town will be on it and jamming the Mass Tpke ... best to hope for is good weather & steady flow of traffic moving at/near the speed limit. The I-84 stretch (with HOV) usually are fine until you get near Hartford, hitting the early PM & Friday/holiday weekend rush hour ... and continue toward I-15 and/or I-95 heading south, take your best pick or guess with Google Maps/navigation and/or Waze for "better" routing, sun glare might be a problem as well depending on your timing heading westward all the way into NYC.

If you choice of hotel is off I-95, expect heavy traffic moving along, sometimes stop-n-go from bottlenecks from Exit 45/44 to continue and again, worsen as you get near Norwalk, Exit 12/11 until Stamford, Exit 7/6 and if you continue toward NY, until you cross the border and the split for I-287 (alternate to NJ via the Tappan Z. Bridge into I-17 ... absolutely avoid going thru the Bronx, I-95 to the G.W. Bridge or the Hutchinson River Pkwy.

If you wish to travel into NJ, as noted by others, to save on hotel ... be prepared to allow up to 2+ extra hours for traffic & congestions and usual gridlocking bottleneck. IMO, not worth the trouble.

That's basically 5 adults sharing a single room and bath is going to be very cozy, I know it is just for some zzz's overnight.

On hotwires around Stamford, CT - I see a good selection & choice of major national hotel chains,m 3 and 4 stars, some including hot breakfast, just over $100 per night - so, it's a little over your budget but more room & personal space for everyone ... as you will most certainly be on the road for 5, maybe 6 hours ... if not longer in getting there. Plan & scout out what's available for dining & evening meals in that area ahead of the trip. For hotel discounts, shop for deals - input all qualifying discounts like military, uniformed services, AAA, retirees, corporate, etc. - call up the hotel's local # and ask directly - most of the ones I'v seen have a stated max policy of 4 guests in a room, regardless of the bedding (up to 3 children) ... well.

    Thank you!

  6. Thank you all for your help!

We are 3 adults 2 children. Myself, my husband, my sister and my two boys ages 15 and12. We need two full/queen beds and a pull out sofa or something on that idea. We stayed in North Bergen NJ. last time and that worked out fine. Just thought we would see if we could get a bit closer. It usually is a 4 hour drive or so from Mass as we are just at the NH border. I am curious how much more traffic we will encounter on the Friday drive. We plan to hit the ground running at just about 2pm.

    Any information is welcomed.

  7. Hello,

We are driving in to NY from Mass to sail out of the Manhattan Pier. We are driving on Friday May 25th which is memorial day weekend and will check in to a hotel for just the 1night and will drive to the pier Saturday morning.

Can anyone recommend a hotel for 5 that is clean, and will be easy on the budget. We have stayed in NJ before and are fine with doing that again.

Any suggestions and tips are welcome!

    Thank You!

  8. DH and I are going to Bermuda in May and someone suggested we get a day pass at one of the resorts.

Can anyone recommend a resort and how much the day passes are?

We had planned on going to Horseshoe Bay Beach for the day but may changed our mind.

    Thank you!!

  9. Hello!

My sister purchased future cruise cert a couple of years ago, We are going to book a cruise for April 2018 very soon and apply them. I am going on a cruise in a few weeks and wanted to purchase a few more. Will they let me apply the new one's as well for payment?

    Thank You!!

  10. Your plan sounds pretty reasonable

Purchase a 2 or 3 day transit pass when you first disembark the ship in Bermuda.

For your Crystal Cave day, I would do the following.

    1. Get the first ferry to St. George. It is much faster than going there by bus. Explore St. George for a while.

    2. Take #3 bus from St. George to Crystal Cave and do the caves.

    3. Get #3 bus to Hamilton. If you wish, you can get off at the Swizzle Inn along the way.

    4. Explore Hamilton.

    5. Ferry from Hamilton back to Dockyard. It is also much faster than the bus.

The next day, use the transit pass to take the #7 bus to Horseshoe Bay. You can also visit the Gibbs Hill lighthouse on the same trip.

Since the ship leaves earlier on the last day, it is best to explore the Dockyard on that day. You can do the Snorkel Park beach if you wish, but it will be a letdown after Horseshoe Bay

    Thank you!
