  1. This has probably been discussed before but what restaurants are included in BOGO? Do they assign you both nights or you just one? And can you pick your time(s)? My DH has mentioned that he wants to try Chops which is $61 on our ship....so with BOGO at $50, it kind of makes sense that we just book BOGO. Of course, the disadvantage is that we must use it for nights 1 and 2, meaning we miss formal night...plus not sure how that works with shows as these are important to us (and I know the Broadway is usually the first 3 nights - don't want to miss that).

One other question...one of our kids is under 12 so if we decide on BOGO do we book for her (as she is not adult price)?

There have been posts of having limited restaurant choice on Allure to only Sabor, Samba, and Giovanni for Bogo.

  2. I use a rollator on every cruise. The usher will put it in a special section in the back of the house for you. The receptionist or m’aitre d will put in in a special place outside the Di I g room afteryou use it to get to your table.

    Thank you Knolmom?

  3. So, I have been trying to start the check-in online but can't get started. The message is 'this reservation is currently being modified' ( been that way all day). What can they be doing that takes all day? We made final payment a couple of weeks ago.

I had that message today too. I logged out of the Royal website. Went into my history, cleared it back 2 days, and then logged back into Royal and was able to check in. I was using safari.

  4. I feel as I age my my new brain cells are not generating as fast as my old brain cells are dying off. I have a couple questions I feel I should know the answer to but hoping all you wonderful people on this board will help a guy out.

    1) We're doing the Brilliance TA Sep 1. We bought a 5 night dinner package for the cruise in the cruise planner. We did NOT have to pay an 18% service fee for that. We bought the deluxe drink package and DID have to pay the 18% service fee for that. At the end of our meals using the dining package, will we have to pay the 18% fee for that or will tipping be at our discretion?

    2) We're doing the Vision in Feb of next year out of NOLA. So far, we haven't purchased a dining package yet. My question here is that the 4 night dining package is $90 per person or $180. However, purchasing 2 BOGO 2 night dining packages (4 nights of dining total) would be a total of $160, $20 less than the 4 night package. There is no 18% service charge when pretending to purchase the 2 BOGO's on the cruise planner. First question, if that's true, why would anyone purchase the 4 night dining package? The second question is the one that is probably more important to me. What am I missing here?

One more thing. We're also doing the Oasis in a few months and the prices for the different packages are not the same as the Brilliance or the Vision so not I don't think any answers that mention how things work on the Oasis will be helpful.

Hoping some of you frequent cruisers that read this board can help me out here. Unfortunately, I'm a frequent cruiser as well and I don't have a clue.

    Tim

From what I have read, BOGO packages have to be used on night 1 and 2 only and there may be additional restrictions of restaurants once on board. So the 4 night package gives you more choices and flexibility.

I haven’t sailed yet, but did buy a BOGO and I am thinking of canceling if I can’t get CP 150 as one of my choices on Allure.

  5. Normally there is seating for people with mobility issues, near the entrance and there is space nearby to leave rollators etc.

Thank you, my DH is able to walk down the stairs and likes to sit a bit closer to the stage. I will just bring a cable lock for the wheels and hopefully that will keep it safer.

  6. My DH will be taking his rollator on our cruise. He can walk short distances, and limited stairs without it, so we were planning on using general seating during shows. Is there a place to securely leave the Rollator in the theaters on Allure of the Seas? He will need it to get from cabin to venue.

  7. Are you staying in downtown San Francisco or on the Oakland side of the bridge? I didn't think there was much to see downtown, and I would not stay in Oakland, since it is too far.

I usually stay in one of the more touristy areas, Union Square, Fisherman'S Wharf, Chinatown- and felt very safe during the day, explored the city by bus and foot, but I tended not to wander during the evening, unless I was in a group. Take cabs to your destination in the evenings.

There are homeless people, as there are in any big city. Not sure if there are more per capita than New York or London, but San Francisco is such a beautiful city, easy to get around, and has better weather, there may be more.

Unfortunately, you can be a victim almost anywhere.

  9. We booked a W guarantee on Century for an April 2014 cruise. We assumed we would get either a Century Suite, which was smaller, but had Michael's Club access or a larger Sky Suite without Michael's Club access- we would have been happy with either one.

We did get a Century Suite and felt very pampered by the Michael's Club perks- we were escorted aboard, straight to Michael's with a delicious variety of appetizers and drinks. We stopped there almost every evening before dinner, and disembarkation was a breeze.

    Good luck!

  10. Cruise Raider gave you excellent suggestions. We did the canal on a sister ship to the infinity, and found that there was plenty to do on board for two weeks, and while we did have a balcony, we did not stay there for the whole transit. Thete were times that we went on various decks to get a closer view when going thru the locks, and never had trouble getting good viewing areas.
