  1. No cabins above. If you select one of these make certain you are not underneath the fitness center. Noise from above starts early in the AM. Also on this deck you may hear MUTS all day and until 11pm at night.

Thanks sknight. My mistake thinking cabins above. And I know how loud MUTS can be, having been on a HAL ship docked near by~Volumn control was nonexistent:eek:

  2. I've been watching the Balconies on our upcoming cruise, the are almost sold out, and have noticed these ones, L246-L312 have been available for a long time, like several weeks. Is there a reason why no one would want to book a cabin in this area? Seems convenient, near the Trident grill and Prego Pizza, cabins above and below? Any ideas?

  3. I don't want to use it for OBC I want the $500 credit posted to the credit card. I'm thinking that I can book a Princess cruise use the booking number to get the credit and then cancel the cruise.

And when you cancel the cruise, won't they just cancel your credit? My non-Princess credit card gives me cash back for purchases and the couple of times I canceled the purchase, they took back the credit!

  4. My wife, son, and I were horribly disappointed in Prego's pizza. We loved the pizza at Cafe Corniche on Sea Princess and at Alfredo's on Star Princess. Both times we sailed on Star we tried Prego's and ended up not even eating it as it was so bad. We sailed Crown Princess and never even tried the pizza at Prego's due to our previous experiences on Star.

You will likely find that everybody else here loves the pizza from Prego's. I don't know what they are comparing it to but we found it to be totally unacceptable. The times we tried it there was almost no sauce and it tasted about like something I could get from the frozen food section of a grocery store.

I sincerely hope your experience differs from ours.

There is an Alfredo's on Star?

When I checked the Princess site, the dining options PDF shows Alfredo's is only on Grand, Regal, Royal and Sapphire:confused:

  5. In your scenario, you would pay for the cheapest inside room, and you get the best available inside room. If you don't like the room that Princess assigns you, then you are able to pick from any available inside room.

In our case, Princess wanted to assign us a mid-ship cabin, but we prefer aft. We just gave our TA the room number we wanted and it was no problem to book that room instead.

    Thanks, I appreciate the clarification!

  6. I'm glad you posted this because it served as a reminder of what to expect from EZAir re: late arrival of the ship on disembarkation day. So far I've not had that happen to me, and really hope it never does. However, as a precaution, I am going to print the part about Post Cruise Missed Flights to keep with my cruise papers in case Princess ship's staff need reminded of their obligation at the time of a late arrival!!

Ditto! We're using eZair this December for the first time and have added an extra stop. I did book a flight 10 hours after we are scheduled to dock, but with a 2-3 drive from port to airport, I hope to have enough of a cushion! Relying on eZair as a last resort in case of delay ;)

  7. we took the VERY comfortable bus, with our luggage, to Alameda station in Santiago for US$5- per each. just sayin...

    Tell me more!!!

Alameda station is how close to the airport? Bus will accomodate two large rolling suitcases & our backpacks? Any transfers? Bus is how far from the port terminal? Do they take US Cash?

Sorry for so many questions. I am not a a world traveler and am a little out of my comfort zone going to South America, but willing to put myself out there and experience the country!

So appreciate any info you can provide!

  8. I was cautioned to make sure I am not charged an additional fee for my luggage when paying for the ships transfer from port to airport!?!?

Has anyone had experience with Princesses transfer directly from the ship to the airport in Valparaiso?

I have a suspicion that they (Princess) may do this if you take their excursion that ends up at the airport!

    Thanks for your help, Carole

  9. Princess' official guidelines for San Pedro are as follows:

Latest international flight arrival: 3 hours prior to the ship's departure.

Latest domestic flight arrival: 2 hours, 30 minutes prior to the ship's departure.

Thanks! I figured they knew what they were doing:)

  10. Homeland Security requires the passenger manifest 90 minutes prior to departure.

If you fly in the day of embarkation, make sure your flight arrives no later than 10:30 a.m.

We have our flights booked through Princess eZair and they have us arriving at LAX at 11:25:eek:

Although 10:30 would be nice as we would be able to have lunch in the main dining room, I don't think it's necessary we arrive at 10:30, at least Princess doesn't think so:confused:

  11. I booked a cruise for next February, and I received a very good casino rate. When checking on the price today, the price is $29 cheaper each, not a lot, but any little bit helps. When I called Princess, the rep said that was for new bookings, so fine. But when I check the site, no where does it say it is for new bookings only, shouldn't it show?

Call again, another Rep, another answer!

As for spending time on such a little amount, I say you have plenty of time until next February! :)
