  1. Hello, We received an offer in June for a free Blue Chip cruise and booked it for mid November on the Summit. At the time of the booking, the agent explained we would be responsible for the port charges and taxes which amounted to $268.84, which was a great price for a four day cruise. I was assured we could cancel with no penalty. We decided it was not a good time for us and cancelled. A refund of $188.84 was issued to our credit card a few days later. I just received an email from Celebrity with a $40 pp FCC because of the cancellation. For those who have cancelled a free Blue Chip cruise, are you normally refunded the full amount of port charges and taxes?

  2. We just booked a cruise on the Constellation from Tampa in November/2020. The pricing was difficult to understand since we have not cruised on Celebrity for almost two years. The Celebrity vacation planner explained there was a non-refundable deposit price, a refundable deposit price and a refundable deposit price with two perks. Since I had booked a cruise over one year ago for January 2020 which included one perk and had a $50pp deposit which was refundable, I wanted to transfer that booking to our Connie cruise. Not possible anymore, according to our vacation planner. It's gotten very confusing to determine which price to go with especially on a cruise which is over a year away.

  3. Tampa has one of the great sailaways that should be experienced at least once. While it can sometimes be a bit chilly (only requires a light jacket or sweater) sailing under the Skyway Bridge, it is worth it. Tampa has a vibrant downtown, Ybor City is close to the port,  and St Petersburg is similar to a small European city with it's museums and restaurants. I would come in early to enjoy all that the Tampa/St Pete area has to offer. http://www.stpete.org/visiting_the_city/index.php

  4. We had a TA booked in November of 2016 and my husband's recovery from a minor procedure would effect the enjoyment of our trip which was past final payment. We spoke to our online TA who intervened with Celebrity. They allowed us to book another cruise and apply the full amount to the next cruise which had to cost more than the TA and had to be booked within 30 days of the TA sailing. While it's not their policy to do this, I think they will sometimes work with you to find an equitable solution if there is a good reason for doing so.

In 1992 I had a cruise booked with another line and my first husband died suddenly two weeks prior to the cruise. Since he was in his early forty's, we had not bought travel insurance. My travel agent attempted to have the full payment applied to another cruise much later or transferred to family members. The other cruise line would not budge so I lost over half of the cost of the cruise. You never know what they will do!

  5. We took the Open cruise to St Andrews in 2016, booked our own tickets and took public transportation to the course. As I recall, there were several golf outings arranged on our roll call. You may want to check with yours when the time gets closer.

  6. I was trying to get on the Equinox, into a group booking for a cruise that left on 7/23/17. There was extra space available in 4 rooms within the group but I was told by multiple sources the cruise was 1.oversold and 2. sailing over capacity so I could not be booked into any of these cabins. A person in the "resolutions department" was trying to help get me on this cruise since it was a family reunion. She told me on Friday 7/21/17 "there was nothing she could do to get me on this ship". Sometime in the wee hours of Friday night, rooms started to show up in the reservation system. I reserved a balcony and called to pay for it on 7/22/17 for a cruise that left the next day. It is possible to get on a ship but you have to be proactive. Celebrity was no help to me on this one.

  7. I am confused by all this also. I priced a cruise on the website which included one perk, called a Celebrity representative to book, and was quoted a different price. This was after telling him the specific cabin and class I wanted (A-1 for the price of A-2 due to my CC status). He had priced it at the A-1 price with two perks. When I corrected him, he just said "oh, yea, I need to re-price this". It seems you must really do your research when booking a cruise with Celebrity but it may be this exists with all cruise lines.

  8. Following-I leave on the Summit Sunday. What movies are they showing on the outdoor screen? And when is taste of film and what movie then? Thanks for any info you can give.

    Laura

Hi Laura, We got off the Summit on June 4th. The taste of film was Chef and they played Sing, A Dog's Purpose, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the new Star Wars Movie, Fences, and some other animated movie. A taste of film was on Wednesday night (I think). Have a great cruise.

  9. When one has both refundable and non refundable OBC the non refundable OBC is charged first. Over the years these boards have shown how confusing OBC can be to many cruisers. As suggested one should check the interactive TV and note the codes for your OBC. Ito to Guest Relations if you have any questions or concerns.

I had a $150 OBC for booking this cruise while onboard another one and a $300 OBC from the go better promotion through Celebrity. No part of it was refundable according to Celebrity's policy (and according to this forum). I was just wondering if we had not spent any of it, would it have been refunded. It would be nice to know the Celebrity has some uniformity to their policies. Sometimes I would much rather have a lower priced cruise or the ability to cash out my OBC, rather than a large OBC that I have to spend.
