We had the same scenario last week. We chose to sleep 2 adults in one, 2 kids in the other.  We didn't switch rooms officially as we didn't want to affect the need to purchase 2 cheers packages when only he needed it. So we just asked guest services for a 2nd key to each room. You need all passengers at guest services to approve the extra key.  I recommend you go there directly upon boarding as the line up grows all day and last until the 2nd day.

Does anyone know if this would affect the cheers package if you have them change the adults to the same room and only 1 person had the cheers package?

My daughter got this email for her cruise in late October. No San Juan. 🙁

I got the same email although it was a little strange. It was an email from "noreply@carnival.com" and only held an attachment. Seemed odd and I don't recognize the name at the bottom of the attachment. Hope I didn't break my own rules and open an attachment from a spammer.

I'll be on the Sensation 5/2-5/6.  No roll call or anything.  I guess Sensation guests don't use CC much??  I've been reading all I can about the ship since it's my first cruise, but not too many people post about this ship.  Too bad, because I've heard it's alot of fun.

    Well, enjoy your trip!

We cruise Carnival frequently. This is a long weekend getaway for us.  We've been told not to expect too much. I'm absolutely sure you will have a great time if you go with the right attitude. We've had things go wrong (missed ports, bad service, rude guests, etc). Not once did it ruin our vacation.

That said...recognize that this is an older smaller ship. It probably needs to go into dry dock soon. Once you try this ship, do go and try one of their newer ships. You will be blown away!

  4. My daughter is getting married in October on the Horizon while we are in Grand Cayman.

Here's what we've paid so far...

Wedding and reception for 20 people for one hour $2970.

This is the Platinum package. 15-20 minute ceremony with music, some small decorations, person to perform the ceremony and food and drinks at the reception for an hour. The couple also gets a honeymoon meal and some other extras. This package includes a silk bouquet and flower for the groom but we were told it's a plain ivory bouquet (daughter's dress is white so that's out lol)

DJ for the reception is $200 per hour

We will have 40 people so it is going to cost us another $800 for the other 20 people.

I'm not sure if that's what you were looking for or not. If I can answer any other questions, I will try.

  5. I've read through a bunch on the board for those cruising with special needs but I don't see an answer to my question there so I hope this won't get moved.

Dad uses a scooter. We just want to go to the beach for the day. He can walk down the beach but not the long walk from the ship.

Do taxis in Antigua accommodate scooters?

    Thanks

  6. We did the western Caribbean this past April. We loved the ship! Guys Burgers were as good as everyone said they were and there was never a line. The cruise director was fabulous! I loved his "Good morning....I said a good morning...I said a good good morning" every day. The food was okay but this was due to the new menus. I didn't care for them and actually had a night that I couldn't find something I liked and we skipped dessert one night also. We found the crew very friendly. The ship was clean but did show some wear and tear but it never bothered us.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We are booked again on the Freedom in November. This will be our 3rd trip with her and probably the last since she is being moved :(

  7. How many have sailed with a balcony that you find yourself wanting to go back to your room MORE to enjoy the water on your balcony vs. being up on one of the decks?

We will have our 1st Balcony in May and I told DH, who doesn't like too much crazy & crowds, that I see us enjoying the balcony more then being on a deck to just sit and relax.

Anyone else do this or plan on doing this? Just wondered!!

This describes us to a T. When we have a balcony, we tend to spend more time together on the balcony. It starts with coffee in the early morning. Then we are there reading throughout the day. We do go up on the decks but we aren't looking to get any sun (we live in FL LOL). Then, drinks on the balcony before dinner. Aaahhh can't wait! 5 more weeks.

  8. Order a Madras. It is vodka, OJ and cranberry juice. Very good! ;) Another vote for Miami Vice. I tried Twilight Zone and it is just a different colored pina colada IMO. Maybe it's how that particular bartender made it but I was expecting something different.

That sounds good! I will try a madras this cruise. I am doing the martini tasting this cruise. I can't wait to try the different ones.
