  1. These are a few of my favorite things to do pre-cruise.

Buy new undies. Get a manicure and pedicure the day before departure. Get a travel guide on your trip from library to take with you.

Also, pick a good book or two to read on flight, before bed, or at the pool.

Get a box or basket and start way before trip to throw things in that you may or

    may not need.

Read the boards here. Especially the ones about packing.

Try to meet other people on line who are going on the same cruise as you are. This was great on the Disney Cruise, and you would always bump into a friend or two.

  2. Thank you guys: I read the DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons. Didnt you think the 2 were pretty similar? Despite that I liked them and will get the third one.

And, on our last cruise they were playing the movie "under the tuscan sun." Loved it. I will get the second Tuscan book too.

    Thank you.

I also see that Sue Grafton has a new book "P is for ....." something or other related to crime. I will try to get that, since I have read her books "A is for ... to "P is for...."

  3. One of my favorite things to do is read a good book on vacation, especially by the pool on a cruise. The worst thing in the world is bringing a couple of books to read, and they are all no good, boring, horrible to read.

Soooooo. Does anybody have any recommendations? (I have already read War and Peace!)

    Peace and love to all.

  4. I have made pre-cruise friends on the message boards for my cruise, and I have already started planning my next cruise, Alaska in 2005.

I like to add a pre-cruise excursion, if possible. We are headed for Universal Studios the day before our 3 day Disney Cruise. A post cruise excursion would have been nice too.

Count down til vacation: This weekend: Do hair, wash, fix and try on clothes, pack; Monday, mother-daughter manicure- pedicure; Tues. depart; Wed. do the pre-trip excursion to Universal; Thurs-Sun. Disney Cruise; next monday, book next cruise!

    BON VOYAGE EVERYBODY!

  5. Again, glad to hear that I am not the only one! My 3 day Disney Cruise is about 3 weeks away, and I have planned, researched, and made all the lists I can possibly make! The other day, I saw a man with a t-shirt from Alaska, and he told me about the summer solstice. Now this is my new goal - an Alaskan Cruise for 6/05. I told my hubby that is what I want for my birthday. I called my travel agent and told her to call my hubby and remind him what I want for my birthday. I went to the library and got out travel books on cruising Alaska.

    This is nuts, huh?

  6. Good to find this message board! As soon as I got back from my last cruise, I too started researching the next one. I was looking up past-cruiser deals, last minute deals, etc. Now I am going on a short (sniff-sniff) Disney cruise with my niece. I found, lost and started a message board listing things to take with you on a cruise. I read it everyday, but I think we have EVERYTHING covered, from Duct tape to flashlights, to cup holders, etc. There have not been many new additions. (sigh).

I also like to plan pre-cruise excursions, which streeeetch out my need to plan plan plan!

Glad to know I am not CRAZY!
