  1. Still enjoying your review. Was in Cuba for 2 weeks March 2001 with my hubby.

Stayed at beautiful resort in Jibacoa. About 1 hour from Havana.  Wednesday's were lobster night. People were lined up before supper started. Best lobster ever. Cut open face  & all eatable. Unlike other I have had where you can only eat the claws  & tail.  Would get dirty any day for  Cuban lobster. Did a walking tour in Matazas (art festival taking place)  & visited Havana. Were to go back following year but hubby not well.

Plan to cruise to Cuba this year with my son.

    Heather.

  2. Does Royal Caribbean have blank "Travel Affidavit" forms at the Miami check in? Shoreside.

Can't get it to print. Looks like all 2 or 3 pages printed over each other. No problem printing boarding pass or luggage tags.

Is it just my computer or is there an issue with the site, The RCCL forum when I click on it to open up just spins and spins and times out and doesn't open, Is everyone else having the same issues..............Was like that yesterday and today........Sometimes it works but most times the last few days it is not working like some of the other forums on this site?

I'am having the same problem. Maybe too many complaints about their cancellations of ports in already fully paid cruises.

Just off the Allure, there was a large religious group of men on board, 100 or more wearing a common mauve color fringed uniform with combat boots, "Israel united in Christ'. At first I thought "Ah that's nice", but then I googled it, after which I felt very uneasy around them. Don't think I need to go into detail, it's very easy to find online. We had a great cruise and didn't have any problems until the last morning when a number of them gatecrashed into the front of the self disembark line and just wouldn't move when advised where the end of the line was.

Thanks for the education. You learn something new every day.

We received the cabin assignment today. It's on Deck 4 of the Vision of the Seas and our room is in the 4300 range. According to a website, Deck 4 of the Vision of the Seas should be avoided, especially the 4300 range rooms, as they are right under the theater so the tenants could hear noises even before and after the performance. Is it so? Would the noises be excessive? This is our very first family cruise (two adults and two kids) and the assignment and the website made me worried. We booked a GTY, if the room is indeed noisy, is there anything I could do about it?

    Thanks.

We stayed on deck 4, cat. 1V  mid ship & were very happy. Looks like you are in a cat. 3V forward of front elevators.  If there are any 3V available on deck 3 that would definately be better or upgrade $ to a 1 or 2V if within your budget.

If you keep the hotel you could taxi or UberXL there, drop your bags off (tip them to store your bags if your room is not ready), and then use the hotel shuttle to get to the MIA airport.  From there you can catch the Airport Flyer bus to South Beach for about $3 each.  Beach, lunch, art-deco architecture, people watching, etc.

Thanks John, sounds like an interesting day. Would it be hard to find the bus back to the airport?  Heather.

  7. We visited Fenway park last October when on Vision of the Seas cruise. Took the HOHO bus & got off there. We also visited the TD hockey & basketball spot. It was my sons day. I went along for the ride. A bit of a walk to get to the hoho booth but on the way back they bring you right to the door. They were also very mindful of cruise ship passengers. If any cruisers missed their ship it would ruin their reputation.

  8. We just sailed this past week. It was rather disappointing, as I saw mentioned that although no lounge, there were events were there were drinks and food, such as sail away. We attended the “sail away party”. Ha!!! It Consisted of a sign saying the deck was closed except to diamond and above. Beyond that, nothing. Nothing. No music. No staff. No drinks or food. We thought we had the wrong place... received an invite to another event. It lasted 15 minutes in which they thanked us for sailing, said they plan to release new ships, and please continue sailing with them. People started getting up in the middle of it and leaving. Asked the bartender why there was nothing offered, he said thy didn’t want to spoil everyone’s dinner and that’s what the guests wanted, ha! Apparently there was a lunch, we never received an invite, and after attending the first 2 pathetic events we likely would’ve skipped out anyways...

Sorry for your disappointment. Reminds me of my last Princess cruise.Meet the captain. one drink. Captain spoke & we were told to vacate the lounge as something else was about to take place. So we drank our drink in the hallway. We are now platinum with them but don't plan on returning.

  9. I guess it all depends on where you are going and when. In November 2013 we rode Legend on a 16 day Panama Canal cruise. Our inside cabin was about $3100. We have Vision booked for this November with the same itinerary and our inside cabin is about $2900.
Hi Bill, You can get a 2C balcony for that on Infinity Sept.9 sailing. $2949 to be exact. plus taxes & fees. Sailed with you Hawaii to Vancouver last May on Radiance.

  11. Just off the Infinity on the East bound Canal passage. All in all we had a wonderful trip. Food great, staff outstanding....

However, this was the worst excursion we’ve ever been on in 16 years of cruising. The description is great, the reality completely different. It talks about a short boat ride. Yeah, they don’t mention the hour and a half bus ride to get to that short boat ride and that’s just the start.

    Some of the other issues;

Primitive (at best)bathroom facilities on the island.

Very small , barely sandy “beach”

    Broken “water sports” equipment.

No food or beverages on the island until we complained.

Very little shade, broken umbrellas, chairs etc.

In short, this was an awful experience. Celebrity should be ashamed for offering something so poor and charging $199.00 per person.

Detailed complaint to the Concierge got us a 20% “refund”. Other guests who complained directly to the Shore Excursion desk got nothing and were pretty much ignored.

    Thanks for the heads up.

  12. For those of you who have done that same pacific coastal cruise, are there any stops where they tender, or that there are additional charges to get into town? Or are many of the ports walking distance into the cities? I have been to many of the cities already, but only have cruised out of Vancouver. I'm trying to factor in where my other expenses might lie -- this time it won't be for Visa's!

    Cheers.

Monterey stay left , straight forward & you will come to a nice little town.

Astoria had a free shuttle into town & volunteer greeters.

San Francisco we rode the cable cars( metal) for $1.00 & if you turn right when coming out onto street from port you will come to Fisherman's Wharf.

If you want to do the Alcatraz tour, when exiting the port turn right. Not very far to check into tour. Must book ahead online as they sell out.

Great hours for Victoria. Exit left & walk into town or cross street & take local bus.

Monterey & Santa Barbara are tendered. (Haven't been to Santa Barbara.)

Celebrity - Royal Caribbean have the best reward programs for repeat cruisers & are inter changable.

Have done many cruises on Holland & Princess also.

Itinerary 1st, cost 2nd. All great cruise lines.
