  1. Definitely Nassau for us, been there 3 times in the past few years.  Other than Atlantis (which is way over-priced) there just isn't too much going on compared to other islands.  Did not feel safe there either.  We will avoid Nassau at all costs on future cruises.

  2. We just got off and thought he was just okay! His name is Armin (Armen?) and he wasn't anywhere near as good as his assistant Adam was.

Agree with SailLaVie, we were on the same sailing as them and thought Adam the assistant cruise director was great. Armen was good and witty but not as good as some other CD's that we have had in the past.

  4. If the multi-tool is packed in a suitcase I don't see any problem.

The nice thing about NCL over Carnival is that YOU choose the time you want to get off!! You can do easy walk off, early or pick your own disembarkation tag color. Easy peasy.

Our travelling companion had a "multi-tool" in his checked bag when we went on Oasis. He did not receive his bag and found out it was in the "naughty room" when he went to get his bag they took away his tool and gave it back to him at the end of the cruise.

  5. Noodle bar tip -- arrive 60-90 minutes before you actually want to dine and pick up a pager. The pagers reach anywhere on the ship, so you can do other things while you wait. We went Friday night and spent the hour wait back in our room getting some of our packing out of the way for the trip home.

We did exactly that but were told that the wait would be 30-40 minutes, it was only 20 minutes and we were not ready. Told them that we needed more time and they said, how long do you need, we will page you then. Came back when we were ready and they had a table waiting for us. Great service!

  6. We are sailing in early March and we are in 9320. Do you possibly have any pictures of the room you could post? Did they enjoy the aft balcony? Were there any downsides? Tips?

    Many thanks.

My parents loved 9320, the balcony was definitely the best part. They also enjoyed leaving the balcony doors open and hearing the waves at night, it put them to sleep. They said it was very quiet. Others have said that they could hear people walking and talking below and H2O above at night but they said they heard neither. They have cruised probably 40 times before, first time in a aft cabin and absolutely loved it. Pictures are pretty much exactly as posted in this thread, just next door. I think that the balcony for 9320 is slightly wider than 9318 because of the room configuration.

  7. FYI

There was nobody checking cards for The dueling pianos. Not sure why it's showing up as sold out on iconcierge. Plenty packed though but still people filtering in and out

My wife just said that she saw it on our iConcierge last week too but like you said, no one ever asked for a cruise card at the door.

  8. Is a 45 minute wait such a big deal? I would head to the bar with a buzzer and I'd imagine the wait would be a bit less anyway?

The only restaurant that we had to put our name down and get a buzzer was at Shanghai Noodle Bar but we knew there would be a wait. We were going to the comedy show in the theater and grabbed a beeper on the way to the show. We were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. Well the first comedian had barely started and the buzzer was going off. I went to the restaurant and told them that we were not ready yet. They asked what time we would like to eat as we were actually the only people that currently had a beeper out so if they gave me another one it would just go off again. I told them that we would like to eat in about 45 minutes and they said they would beep me again in 45 minutes. The show was over in about 40 minutes before the beeper went off, we went to the restaurant and they seated us right away. It was not a big deal at all.......if you plan it properly and are not starving.

  9. I have read a few reviews/comments now about waiting for the MDR's. I wonder what has changed? We were on the Getaway @ New Years, ate only at MDR's in the evening (well, once at O'Sheehan's) and never had a wait. Any ideas???

We just returned from Getaway and did not have any real problem getting a table in the MDR's and we were a group of 17. We tried all 3 MDR's but Tropicana was by far our favourite with the live entertainment, dancing and we had an amazing waiter that we always asked for and got every night.

  10. I have been unable to make a reservation for tonight and as you see it's "sold out" for Saturday . I have heard multiple people talking and advising people to book everything and no big deal if they don't go. I see it as similar to chair hogging . It leaves the likes of me waiting in a line for standby tickets as I wasn't sure if I'd be awake at 11pm

That must have just changed this week. We were on Getaway last week and there was no way to book Howl at The Moon ahead of time. It was packed when the show first started but as the evening went on it always thinned out and there were plenty of seats available.

  11. Just off Getaway with a group of 17. We had no problem getting dining reservations on board and usually booked them only several hours before dining once we figured out what time we wanted to eat. If you are a small party you will have no problem getting a table, might have to wait but no longer than 10 minutes. We rarely saw anyone waiting long for a table in the MDR's

  12. We used it last week and for $7.50/device found it to be good value and well used. It was a great way for us all to stay connected on board, we were travelling with two families and 4 teens. The service was spotty at times but being able to text and talk to others with the App as well as calling anywhere on the ship, to rooms and reservations, was a great feature. It worked just with wifi but again did not always work but overall it was good.

  13. Shaun07 and the rest of the passengers on board Anthem I truly feel for you. We just got off NCL Getaway on Sunday and had one day of somewhat rough seas. I was feeling slightly anxious. We have sailed many cruises but we brought my first time cruise parents with us this time (I was nervous for them when we hit rough seas). I can't imagine how you have all been feeling. It's not fair or respectful for anyone to tell you how you "should" feel. We all have different levels of tolerance for fear/excitement etc. You are perfectly entitled to your own feelings.

Keep your chin up! You are almost home.

  14. We've sailed RC and NCL. Never sailed Disney. We have found that the food on RC and NCL to be quite comparable, with NCL being slightly ahead. The last time we were on RC (Oasis) we found the quality to be slightly lower. We just got off the Getaway on Sunday and only ate at the complimentary dining rooms - Tropicana 3x, Taste 2x, Savor 1x and Shanghai Noodle Bar 1x. With the exception of the Mahi Mahi on the last night (4 of us in our group ordered it and found it to be a little dry and over cooked) the quality of food in all of the dining rooms was very good. Food was always well cooked, warm, tasted great and was nicely presented.

You do not need to spend any additional money if you choose not to. All of the complimentary entertainment is enjoyable. A few in our group went to the Illusionarium which they felt was great and well worth it, and felt that the food was quite good there also. There are ice cream machines and there is also complimentary hard ice cream (with various toppings) and sherbet in the buffet.

Hope this helps. If you have any other specific questions don't hesitate to ask.

  15. That is great news! What is the main show in the theatre now? Not still Legally Blonde, I hope.

Just off Getaway on Sunday and yes Legally Blonde is still playing. It was good but not great. It's about 30 minutes too long, in my opinion. We went to the 10:15 show and half of us in our group were asleep during the show. It didn't end until about 11:45.

Howl at the Moon was great as always. The comedy acts were good. Burn the Floor was very good, I don't know how they have that much energy for the entire show. Or favorite MDR was Tropicana Room as they had live entertainment every night and our waiter Ellison was exceptional the first night so we asked for him every night that we ate there after that. We tried all of the MDR's plus Shanghai Noodle bar. All were good but Tropicana was great! Our favorite bar/lounge was Sugarcane outside on the Waterfront, great service, you could still hear the music through speakers outside and the night sky was amazing.

  16. Has anyone used South Florida Transportation lately? We used them two years ago and they were good. Booked them again for this weekend, with a deposit but have been trying to get in contact with someone for almost a week with no success. Concern is that we may get stranded in FLL with no transportation to our hotel in Miami. Do we need to cancel and book with someone else?
