  1. We stayed at the Galataport hotel (found on booking.com) for 2 nights

It is a new hotel right across the street from the port and very close to restaurants and stores.

    The tram is close by

Check it out,  not luxurious but comfortable hotel and priced right.

  2. Our B2B in June 24 (Scotland and Ireland ) are also combined.

We find it easier to read and deposit was $1000.

OBC total is for both cruises ,it is a good thing .Yes, the web site is still a joke but getting a little better every day ( the joke, not the site )

Good thing that the experience onboard is still the best!

  3. You should make the reservations for transfer onboard at the customer desk. A few days before the end of the cruise is ok.

You will need your stateroom card and flight time and number if applicable.

The payments will show up on your Azamara account and will be deduct from your OBC (Azamara or TA OBC).

The only exclusion would be the OBC received for excursions included in the indulgence packages .

  4. We are on the same cruise and had a similar problem with full payment.

Azamara claimed that we owed them $4000. Our TA ( in the USA ) called Azamara and got it corrected.

Our TA always pays the cruise line with a credit card and send us a final notice of full payment.. Your TA is maybe lazy .

Do you have records of the payment by credit card or bank check? It would convince Azamara of your good faith.

    Maybe call Azamara USA ?

    Good luck

  5. On our recent transatlantic,on Onward, we had very few problems with the internet.

Even in the middle of the Atlantic we watched Netflix and  Prime with no or few short interruptions.

We used  WhatsApp and Face Time to connect to family.

My husband used Zoom for a work meeting  and was not too happy as it was interrupted a few times (He should not work on vacation to start with…)

This is one of the best improvements on the new Azamara .

  6. All OBC are refundable except Azamara OBC.

We have received OBC from travel agents, banks credit cards  and American Express.

Azamara will charge your expenses on their OBC then use the other OBC , in necessary .

Please note that extra tips in specialty restaurants and donation to crew fund will be always taken out the refundable OBC.

In the past Azamara credited our credit card on file , in a few days after the cruise.

On our last cruise  (Xmas 2022/23 ) we received cash on the last morning from the customers desk.

You could walk away with maximum $ 745 but be kind to the crew and to yourselves .

  7. Azamara will provide a wheelchair to go to the baggage claim and the port will provide a wheelchair to the taxi stand with your luggage.

    There are elevators and escalators.

You should contact , a few days in advance ,the customer desk on the ship to arrange a wheelchair departure.

Contact the port for arrival and departure help.

The port is new and underground with no seats or waiting room  (as of July 2022).

  8. We switched our cruise before final payment , without penalties .

Some travel companies or agents charge an “administrative charge” if you modify your original booking.

Did you call Azamara for your reservation or do you have a travel agent?

  9. The casinos were doing poorly ,the croupiers were replaced by video robots at some point.

Those videos were very annoying, every time you would go through the casino the video kinky lady would ask the play with her.

It is one of those memories of Azamara that make us laugh , even years later!

  10. We had the same experience in July.
Tips (mostly in speciaties restaurants ) we’re not cover by OBC.

It is a bit tricky but remember that the OBC given to you by your travel agency will be refunded  to you if not used.

We had a long discussion with the Customers service because they put all  different kinds of OBC together and charged us separately for the tips on our credit card.

We finally got reimbursed in cash ,  onboard for the amount billed to the credit card..

We were told that the actual program does not allow to separate OBC from Azamara from OBC Travel agent.

So for our Christmas cruise, we will be sure not to spend the travel agent OBC

and ask to be paid back in cash or as a credit to our credit card.

The crew members will be the losers in this way of billing as many passengers will not tip as generously!.

We usually gave the unspent OBC to the Crew Fund, I guess this will be billed the credit card too

The reasoning is that paying tips with Azamara  OBC is equivalent to Azamara giving more money to certain crew members.

Wish that things would get sorted out soon , it gave us a headache on an otherwise pleasant cruise to northern Greece!

  11. We were on Onward in July and had a good time.

Sure , the crew needs more training but service in bars and restaurants was friendly .

Looks like things will get better with time and more experienced servers. We would not hesitate to go on Onward again .

We will be onboard 1/2015 for part of the world cruise.

The spirit of Azamara is onboard Onward!

please refer to this web site !

If you are not an EU or Schengen area citizen

    You need proof of vaccinations

and the Spth form to enter Spain, they rarely check it in Spain but airlines may check it before boarding outside of EU..

  14. Done it in May precovid.

It was humid  (70/80%) and cool ( 50 F/10C) but not that bad!

I would recommend sneakers, jeans, light sweater or sweatshirt and a wind breaker.

Don’t miss it, it is a beautiful cave .

The train ride is fun .
