I just kept the car for the week. Galveston has reasonable parking rates. After the cruise, hop in the car and go. The one day rental and drop charge in Galveston is almost as much as keeping the car For a week and bringing it back. 

I have a party of 5, flying into IAH the day before my cruise and sailing out of Galveston. I’m looking at about 300+ for an Uber XL return. I’ve decided to rent a mid size SUV for a week for roughly the same cost as the Uber’s. Galveston port parking is reasonable and I will be able to travel to any hotel I choose and eat anywhere I choose. After the cruise, hop in the car and head back to the airport. Zero deductible insurance included.

I have never used this company, so beware, but $99 for a night with shuttle at the Hilton downtown Miami is tempting.

Has anyone booked a cruise package at this hotel? I've got an offer for 99 including a free shuttle to the port from a third party agent.
