Hey, first cruise was Carnival Destiny out of San Juan in June. Yep, you guessed it- outside in the life jackets, crammed together like sardines. Took a long time. I nearly did faint and grabbed the DH to keep from falling. And I was so relieved when they let us go that, no, I couldn’t have told you where my muster station was.

Liked my Clarks Cloudstepper deck shoes on my recent trip. They're two tone black and brown so a bit dressier than a tennis shoe Lightweight packing too. For more arch support I also took my Dansco shortie boots. Great for the rain encountered in British Isles.

Oh I tried a sugar free Don't remember if it was Schweppes or Canada Dry. Yuck. I will, however, double check my local Safeway for the Fevertree. I usually go to Bev Mo or Target.

We did the train but going in the opposite direction. Quicker border cross than a bus. Border crossing in summer can be a wait at times.

So funny about preferences here. I had a balcony once. It was hot and muggy in the the South Pacific and I rarely used it. We usually get an inside or an ocean view. Depends on perks. Celebrity can have pretty good ones if you book OV or above. Otherwise, an inside is ok with me as we choose port intensive cruises anyway.

Hi there. We just returned ( mid May) from the Veendam. Entertainment was pretty poor although I enjoyed the jazz trio. Believe me, you won't rock out! As far as Celebrity, well, I love Celebrity can't say much there either as far as entertainment. At least some live music poolside though.

Just got off the Veendam on Saturday ( Montreal to Boston). Be careful of itinerary. We had either 3:30 or 4:30 all aboard all week. This is fine if you are in Sydney where there's nothing to do. Not good if in Quebec City or Halifax. If I were doing it again, I would choose a ship with longer days in port.

Yes, we also recently purchased the Chase Reserve card. It was spendy but we will get much of the annual fee back due to travel costs. I noticed, however, that there is no provision for emergency evacuation. We may need to supplement for that, but, otherwise, I would think 20k should cover us. After all, it's not like we will have to get medical care in the US!

We went to a place called Baby Beach in Aruba. Very good snorkeling at that time. It was about 30 minutes from the port I think. We shared cab costs with another couple.

Well, you have to have a ticket to go out to the Arizona. We got there at opening and still had to wait about 90 minutes. It worked out ok as they have a museum to go through while you are waiting. Hanuma-unless things have changed, you need to watch a 15 minute required video before you can snorkel. It wasn't too busy on the afternoon we went but, usually, snorkeling is best in the morning. North Shore is a drive in itself. I'd say it can be done, but get to the memorial as soon as it's open.

Love the pre check. Problem with getting the random ( rather than paid) pre check is this: three of you will go in the pre check line, the other in the regular line. This could be a problem if the fourth person is a child or someone who needs assistance. As J&R1987 says, it really won't matter if you depart a small airport.

I've been on three Celebrity cruises. Two RC. I found the food and service comparable. If you are not going during school breaks, there are fewer children. There were no water slides, climbing wall, etc on the Silhouette, the Equinox, or the Millinneum. You will fit right in as far as demographics. We are about the same age;-). We had OV, deck three. Very convenient area, as long as you aren't too close to the Atrium. We found the shows to be mixed. One comedian great, the next a bore. Beatles cover band really fun, Broadway shows cheesy.

Celebrity used to have a wine bar with these special dispensers but I hear they were phased out. We had the drink package on our last cruise. The wines are mediocre, though we found a decent Mouvedre on the list.

I really like Celebrity and hope this information helps.

Itenary is number one for us. We like port intensive cruises. We want somewhere new each time. Price is next. We do not have the money to sail lines such as Oceania or Regent. Ship loyalty is not really a factor, though the age and size of the ship can be one. We check to see when a ship was last refurbished. We don't care for the mega ships, prefer the mid sized ones.

FlyerTalker, we purchased the United seats this week, before the new rules go into effect about paying extra for assigned seating. But, because the flight is in May, I am unsure as to the rules about boarding groups and carry ons. Our tickets list nothing about that. That doesn't mean, though, that we can't get some sort of "change notice" in the future from United. I will be researching more on it.

Yep, my husband got those tickets purchased for May cruise yesterday. We got assigned seating but don't know if I will be allowed a carry on or just an under seat backpack at this point. Or what our boarding group will be either. Sigh.

Did an inside on Millinneum and it was fine. We were on deck 3, but far enough away to not hear all the noise in the Atrium. Yes, a balcony is nice but we are hardly ever in our room. There are plenty of places to view the great outdoors from the decks. And, yes, I agree with alcpa 1 about views from the gym. Happy sailing.

Maohi Nui. In Bora Bora. We did snorkeling, swimming with rays, a fabulous authentic lunch on an island with French champagne. Our guide, Patrick, even played the ukulele for us. Worth every nickel.
