  1. Just did Atlantis via Comfort Suites and booked the hotel with points through choicehotels.com for our August cruise.  I bought most of the points I needed.  I needed 3 rooms for 12 people going to Atlantis and so I only needed 30,000 points (only 10,000/night per oom)..  There had been some postings about Comfort suites not guarenteeing  access to Atlantis on the day of arrival so obviously not good for trying to get into Atlantis from a cruise ship.  I had called at one point and was given the same message.  I booked anyways and called from th ship the day before and said there would be no problem.  The process took a while to get the 12 vouchers which then have to be presented at the Royal Tower desk for entry.  There are a number of fees and I was charged $191/room at Comfort Suites, but still less than $60pp even adding in the cost of the points.

We had a good time for the most part, but lost time on the slides because they close them if lightning is in the area.  What suprised me at Atlantis was that food and drink prices were fairly reasonable.

  2. Here is one from the 4/10 sailing.  Its a little beat up and highlighted and I guess you will need to rotate it but should work. A few notes for you:

    1. Be aware that Dan who was the cruise director for this week left at the end so a new cruise director might have a few more changes than usual.

    2. I was able to see the schedule and book shows from the cruise terminal while we were waiting to board because the ship's wifi was in range.

    3. Some shows you can book multiple times like the Aqua show and thats helpful because it gets canceled quite a bit.  It was canceled and rescheduled 3 times on our cruise.

    4. I was only able to book one comedy show in the Attic even though the material was different later in the week.

    5. The Ice Skating shows were never full so unless you really want to sit in a specific spot they may not be needed.

  3. So I had a June 2020 cruise canceled and opted for some FCC and to get the $600 OBC.  The original book by date to get the OBC use to be 12/31/20.  I see the newer cancelation get until 5/31/21 to decide on a new cruise and still get the OBC. Is that the new date for everyone or would I still be under the 12/31/20 deadline?

  4. So my June 6 cruise was canceled.  I used the link on Carnival's page to request FCC and the OBC of $600 for my booking.  I just received a letter from Carnival saying the following:

We are sorry that your reservation has cancelled. If your cancellation occurred during penalty period the amount will be listed below:

And then it shows they applied a 50% penalty!

No mention of FCC, or anything related to the new terms for cruises they canceled.  I would expect this if I canceled.

Should I try to call, wait for better communications, or what?

technically its only 4 months away and 9 days that comes soon if you think about it. September is almost over it is flying. So I am a planner that likes to know what I am looking at in the future if there will be changes.  So I am asking this question  OK.

How is anybody supposed to answer your question???

  6. You really don't need to actually log the other device out first.  When you try to connect to the internet with the folio that has the internet access, it will tell you if another device is logged in.  If it is and you still want to proceed it will allow you to connect and disconnect the other device.  Of course if your wife is actively using it at the time she might get mad, but usually I would just Hub chat with the person I was sharing the plan with to make sure it was OK to use.

Sersee - Head over to Ron Jon Surf Shop and walk around.  It is a cool place to visit with nice clothes and beachy things.  Then you can walk out on the pier.  That would kill some time and it is very easy to get to - I am assuming you have a car rental.

Yes, a good idea, but would need a rental car for the luggage.

  8. What's interesting the cruise ship tracking site ***** is showing the ship status as "not under command".

The term “vessel not under command” means a vessel which through some exceptional circumstance is unable to maneuvre as required by these Rules and is therefore unable to keep out of the way of another vessel.

Could be wrong, but that status in interesting.

Contemplating to buy the 100 shares but getting a little apprehensive as I noticed the sharp dip in the past few days.  Carnival Q2 earning report is pretty good so something else must be causing it.

    Please enlighten me.  😅

However, the company’s outlook for the third quarter was below expectations, and for the full year, Carnival lowered its guidance. It now expects to earn $4.25 to $4.35 a share for the year, down from $4.35 to $4.55 previously and below the $4.54 analysts are predicting. The company also warned the government’s sudden ban on Cuba dockings is hurting near-term revenue yields.

  11. The success of the revamped Coco Cay may prompt them to make changes to the the new cruise port on Grand Bahama Island to include more water park like attractions.  It does though already sound like the plans are pretty ambitious.  I doubt anything happens the HMC for reasons others have mentioned.

Here are what they plan on building near Freeport:

The new cruise port development here in Grand Bahama will encompass multiple projects inclusive of construction of the channel, docks, water taxi and work boat piers, berthing platforms, seawalls and turning basin to accommodate two super post Panamex Ships.

The expansive Shore Project will comprise a 20-bed hotel, an 18-hole miniature golf course, restaurants, food and beverage pavilions, shops, nightclubs, amphi-theatre, aquatic and other recreational and sporting facilities as well as pedestrian and cycling trails. There will also be interactive amenities, such as stingray and dolphin encounters, animal exhibitions and petting zoo.

  12. I would contact Carnival to make sure this is not allowed.  Those citing the PVSA might be confusing a temporary stay off the ship with permanently leaving the ship which the law requires for a violation from what I've read.  You are leaving and arriving from the same port on the same ship and same voyage.  You won't be taken off the ship's manifest.  Who knows if Carnival will even want to deal with the "paperwork", but I would check.
