  1. Hehehe, I know what you mean about not keeping up. Hey, I'm doing the Carnival Victory March 20th this year, an exact year after you. They took out Dominica since you went though :(

I know Dominica was hit hard from the hurricane I hear, but you will have a blast and don't spend too much money in San Juan. We stayed there for 2 days before our cruise and a day after since the flights were way cheaper. Spent a bunch of my money on cabs and eating and stuff in San Juan when I should of just stayed in my room lol.

You will have a blast and if you can, try and reserve tours before the cruise. It was cheaper for us and Cosol Tours in St. Lucia was Awesome!

  2. Have you tried the Miami thread? This one is Puerto Rico so you probably won't find any info here on Miami. And you're right, probably makes sense to get one on South Beach. Good luck!

woops my mistake, I booked using this thread last time for san juan and haven't kept up with it, so All I read was the winning bids title haha. Thanks!

  3. Ali, was that $88 your first bid? Another I am wondering about is if it never accepts your first bid.

more like my 8th try lol, I started at 75, went up to 90, went back down again and finally got it for 88. Like I said, tyou just gotta try. I bid 90 just 4 days prior and got rejected.

Thanks again everyone for posting your rates, but another thing just hit me....is everyone here getting rooms for two people only? We have three in our party and I know many hotels charge more for a third adult in a room.

I'm getting a room for 2 people but I don't think anyone will say anything for having 10 people, because they really can't know unless they follow you. Know what I mean?

Oh, another thing that just hit me - being that the Caribe Hilton has timeshares, are these low prices because the fine print says you have to attend a sales presentation? I am thinking Priceline doesn't get involved in such stuff, but am not sure and there is no way I want to spend our little time in San Juan listening to a sales pitch.

Not a clue, but many people have stayed there before and no one has mentioned anything like this.

  4. Thanks so much for the help, ehough. What other resorts are there that people can get "stuck" with doing this? We won't be renting a car so my concern is getting a place that is expensive to get to by taxi from the airport and/or to the Victory.

    Do this..

Bid for San Juan - Resorts

if the Bid is Declined, raise the offer by 5 bucks or so and add Cabo Rojo on the cities for resorts, Cabo does not have any Resort Category properties so it will just add it and retry your bid.

I got it for 88 a night, try that.

  5. We just got the Condado Lagoon Villas at the Caribe Hilton too -$90 for 3/20, plus I believe they'll hit us up with a resort fee when we get there. They look to be the timeshare section of the Hilton, so hard to say what the rooms will look like, but at worst it's only one night, and at best it will be great!:)

so these are like real Villas huh

  6. Just won a bit for the Caribe Hilton on Priceline for $88 for 1 night on March 21st! Good luck!

that's Odd, I have tried that price before with No luck. I just tried 85 bucks today for San Juan Resorts and they asked me to increase my price by 22.00 and I chose not to. My next option was to edit my location details so I added Cabo Rojo and increased my price to 88.00 and got the Condado Lagoon Villas At Caribe Hilton? Is that the same place you got or is that another form of Hilton?

    Booked from the March 19-21st!

  7. 1 night, April 16-April 17, 2010.

Bid 1: $82 in San Juan for Resort Category - Rejected. Prompted to increase bid by $22, did not follow prompt.

Bid 2: $88 in San Juan or Cabo Rojo - Accepted by Hilton Caribe.

Note- Cabo Rojo does not have any Resort Category properties.

ooooo I like that idea but I was still rejected for Resorts during 03/19-03/21 pre cruise dates :(
