Holy cow. They're auctioning off a $1,000 Carnival e-card and the current bid is over 1 million points. Someone has a ton of points to spend.

Dang, I guess I missed it. I need to log on here more often. LOL For future reference, in case it happens again, where was it located on the site? Just on the homepage?

I thought they sent out an email about the Walmart cards... probably the Wednesday email with the weekly code?  But IIRC it did appear on the main page when logged into their rewards site.

No more carnival gift cards 😞 anyone know when they’ll restock?

Newegg is running another promo for 10% off a $200 eGift Card (limit 2).  Use promo code 93XSR27.

This has become pretty reliable of late.  Nabbed 2 more cards in case we decide to book an excursion on our Horizon A-B-C cruise at the end of May.

  3. Thank you to everyone for your replies. I went ahead and booked the Allure!! My youngest daughter was a little sad at first that it wasn't Carnival but after we started talking about all the things there are to do on the Allure she is really excited now. She admits that it will be nice to try something completely different than what we're used to. I went ahead and booked the Mama Mia show for our first day at sea. I also booked a guarantee oceanview balcony room and have already been assigned our room. We're on deck 6 right in the middle. I'm hoping this is a good location. Now to start planning.

  4. We are trying to decide on which cruise to book this summer. My husband, 2 daughters (ages 15 and 19) and I have been on several Carnival cruises and we all agree we love Carnival Dream and Breeze. I would love to try something different this year since it is our 25th anniversary. I have found 2 cruises that are available the same week. One is the Carnival Magic and the other is the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas. We all love Sea days so the ports are less of a deciding factor, although both cruises have some ports that are new to us so that's great. My husband loves the hot tubs and I think he would really like the Allure because it looks like it has a lot nicer hot tubs. The girls really like the atmosphere of the pool deck on Carnival, especially at night. They love to dance and although I don't get out there with them I love watching them have fun. I have tried looking up you tube videos of the Allure to show them what it is like. But they are still not convinced. My husband noticed that the Allure seems to feel less like you are on the ocean and more like a city. And the girls have noticed that there seems to be less teenagers and more older people and less of a party atmosphere. I'm sure that the age of cruisers depends on the time of year. We usually only go to 1 or 2 shows during the week and we usually eat in the main dining room at night and try to avoid the specialty restaurants due to the added cost. I think the girls might try flow rider, zip line and rock climbing once but mostly we all just like to lay by the pool and relax. We all like the look of the Solarium but my youngest is a few months from being 16 (even though she looks older than her 19 year old sister) so I don't know if she will be able to spend time with us in there. Any advised from those of you who have cruised on both lines would be appreciated. :)

  5. We are driving down Friday before Memorial day for our cruise on the Breeze which departs Sat from Miami. We plan to arrive in the area Friday morning. I am trying to decide if I should book a room in or near Fort Lauderdale or Miami for Friday night. Last year we drove down and spent the day in Miami South Beach area but we did not stay overnight. I would like to find an inexpensive hotel for the night (under $200). Anyone have any suggestions for how we should spend our day on Friday. It will be me, DH and our daughters (age 14 and 18). Thanks:)

  6. We are planning on taking a cruise the end of March/first of April for our girls spring break (DD 13 and DD 17). I had everything planned out to take the Carnival Dream 7 night out of Port Canaveral which goes to Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany Bay and Costa Maya. We have only cruised 3 times before. Once on Disney when the girls were younger, once on Carnival Liberty and last year on Carnival Dream eastern. Mahogany Bay and Belize would be new ports for us and the girls Loved the Dream, so this is why I had chosen this particular cruise. I had really never consider going with RCI because I thought the price would be so much more than Carnival. I decided to look into other cruises and found the IOS 8 night out of Fort Lauderdale, going to St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Puerto Rico and Labadee. The price was not much more than the Carnival Dream cruise and it's a day longer!! We loved St. Maarten and have never been to the other 3 ports so it just seems like a much better choice for us all around. My only hesitation is I wonder if the girls will have as much fun on RCI as they did on Carnival. They really did not go on the water slide that much (most of the time it was closed due to high winds anyway). But they really enjoyed the party atmosphere . They enjoyed hanging out with other teens around the pool and the dancing and activities at night on the Lido deck. Neither one of them liked the clubs for their age group, but they both had friends with them on the last cruise and we will be alone on this next one so they may want to go to the clubs this cruise (also it will probably be my oldest daughters last chance to do the "teen" activities since she is 17). Anyone with teenagers who have been on both RCI and Carnival have any input? I'm leaning toward switching to the IOS but I just want to make sure the girls will enjoy it just as much or more than their last cruise. Thanks
