  1. I called NCL shore excursions and they told me that we are still required to use their tours to leave the ship. I then called the tour company I reserved tours with in Italy and was told they have tours Sunday &.Monday from the port. Didn't get the name of the ship.

  2. I booked the Escape for 3/24 a few weeks ago, so payment had to be in full. Last week I notice the price drop and called NCL. I told the agent I could understand that so close to booking no cash adjustments would be made.  I asked if I could have an upgrade to a mini suite which was now the same price I paid for the balcony. I was upgraded! Dosen't hurt to ask and shame on your travel agent for not trying for you.

  3. I was on the 2/18-25 cruise and was totally disgusted the way NCL handled the disembarkation. The delay was because of security clearance for the non US citizens which was somewhat out of their control (been on Carnival similar situation but crew members checked cabins and lines for the missing passengers) but what they could have handled better was the lines and informing the people waiting. I was on line at 8 and at immigration at 10:30. It was ridiculous and unacceptable that elderly passengers and families with small children and their luggage were left standing in line while crew members who were not visible at all during the 2 1/2 hour wait decided to alleviate the problem create another exit which held up the walk off passengers even more so. I know this to be fact because another couple traveling in my group had a late flight so placed their bags outside their cabins the night before had a leisurely breakfast and walked right off the ship at 9:50 while I was still on line with my luggage. Yes I had an 11:30 am flight! Finally approached checkout and lo and behold all the crew and Hotel Manager waving us off. Are they kidding??? I told the Hotel Manager how badly the situation was handled and he agreed.

  4. I had a great time on the cruise but disembarkation was horrendous. NCL screwed up big time. Yes, walk off passengers that were supposed to walk off around 8am were still on the ship at 10:30. There wasn't any crew in sight keeping order to the lines nor updating passengers as to what the situation was. The hold up was because of immigration which happens, but how they handled the delay was disgusting! How do you create another exit and let passengers off the ship bypassing those walk off passengers and their luggage who have been standing in line for hours?? It was totally unacceptable.

  5. NCL did nothing and were not visible at all during disembarkation except as we walked off the ship. There was no crew member directing passengers nor controlling the lines. The yellow tags were schedules to leave ship at 9, followed by the green which would be after the walk passengers disembarked. That was not the case. Yes, the Non Americans held us all up. My complaint is that NCL had no plans in place nor any crew helping the situation. Obviously, there was no communication between the deck crew and the crew that makes the announcements. Why on earth would I lug my suitcases and stand in line for 2 1/2 hours when I could have taken my time, lounged in my cabin until yellow tags were called and then simply walked off the ship before the walk offs were disembarked?? NCL screwed up as the Hotel Manager admitted to when I confronted him on the way out. They handled the situation poorly. Elderly passengers and families with small children along with their luggage were in line for hours while NCL decided to start letting people off from another exit while causing the people on line a longer wait. I know this as fact because our friends who were not on line exited from the the "new exit" and were at the airport before I exited the ship! I arrived at the airport at 11:00 for a 11:30 flight. I didn't miss the flight because only because there was a flight delay (Divine Intervention). Bottom line NCL dropped the ball on this sailing. They handled the situation poorly.

  6. Sailed on the Dawn Feb 18-25 and have to say that I am disgusted at the way NCL handled their disembarkation. I purchased future cruise certificates but am trying to get a refund because after Sunday I don't think I want to sail NCL again. The Dawn was beautiful and the staff wonderful until disembarkation. We had an early flight so decided to walk off with our luggage as per instructions sent to our cabin. We carried our luggage to the 7 th floor as directed and was greeted by ridiculous lines with no NCL crew member in sight. We waited patiently on line while announcements were made looking for Canadians and the foreign visitors to report to Aqua Lounge. It was obvious that either those passengers didn't understand or care about the holdup they were causing. So we patient passengers waiting on line were inconveniced, again- without any crew member in sight. In the past on Carnival when faced with a similar situation ( foreign passengers) Carnival crew members went up and down corridors with signs looking for those missing passengers all the while crew members kept the lines in order and kept us informed. After waiting in line for 2 hours the line started to move after announcements were made for yellow tag passengers to disembark!!! Are you kidding??? The walk off passengers were still on line not knowing that NCL crew opened another exit and people without luggage who haven't been online for 2 hours were walking off!!! Totally unacceptable!!! When we were about 500ft from the exit we see a crew member (I wish I got his name but he dismissed me and left to fast) and asked why yellow tags and green tags were called and we were not yet off the ship he blamed Port Authority! When we finally get to the exit we are greeted by the Hotel Manager and other crew members sending us off with a smile....that was the most infuriating- WHERE WERE YOU during this mess? Why weren't you controlling the lines and getting passengers off in order? I am so disappointed in NCL.

  7. I love Balluarte! It's not available in the US as of yet ( I heard its being imported to Texas but don't know if it's true). It is my absolute favorite! Ask for a sample in the duty free shop. Its so smooth. It's not mass produced. I make sure I get as much as I can (weight) when in Mexico and make sure any friends on vacation pick me up a bottle!

  8. Just returned from Grand Cayman..rented a cabana at Royal Palms. It was the best money spent all trip. I booked 3 weeks before cruise and beach cabanas were sold out reserved a pool cabana for $75 which ended up being cheaper than renting 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas on the beach. Service was great! A credit card secures the booking but you are not charged. You pay when you are there. We were a party of 4 and it was well worth it. Book as soon as possible!

  9. I too was also wondering about the taxi fare. I reached out to a private tour company that I used in Montego Bay and I was quoted 130 roundtrip for 4:eek: so Resorts For a Day was looking good. I then asked on TripAdvisor and was told $40 roundtrip. I think Im going to gamble a take a taxi!

  10. Good Morning. I am also interested in the price of taxi to Jewel River Dunn's Resort for the same reason- time spent at resort! I was originally booking through resortsforaday but now I think Im booking directly with resort. If anyone knows the approximate taxi fare- Thanks in advance. Have a great day!

  11. Hi. Will be in Cozumel next week and was interested in Melia day pass. Emailed and called Cozumeldaypass.com but didn't hear back. Has anyone tried getting day pass directly from Melia the day of? Have been to Nachi Cocum a few times wanted to try someplace new. Thanks in advance!

  12. Rented the Boston Whaler for 6 hours a few weeks ago from Somerset Watersports and it was the high light of our cruise! Ask for directions to Woody's it's a local bar/restaurant on the water. As soon as we got close to dock some locals came to assist us onshore and tied up our boat. The food was delicious!!! You will not be disappointed. Have the grouper sandwich and order the homemade mac and cheese. Prices are very reasonable and food is cooked to order. :D

  13. Just off the Dawn July18th did both the pub crawl and martini tasting. Martini tasting came to 17 and change with the gratuity. Strong martini's all grey goose definitely worth $15. Pub crawl was $25 and a blast!!! 5 0r 6 bars with hilarious games. Drinks are not watered down. You must do at least one pub crawl:D

  14. Just got off the Dawn Friday. Had a great time!!! Starting looking in January for the July 11th sailing... balcony for 2 was well over 3000. Had friends booked so kept checking prices. Didn't want to book because sailed on Celebrity to Bermuda in aqua class for less last year and was totally spoiled. Finally broke down and booked a balcony for 2 around June 21st $2550 price dropped within 2 days called NCL and was upgraded to mini suite. Week before we sailed the rate for 2 in a mini suite was $2100. But its a gamble…rooms may not be available if you wait. I suggest keep looking for a great sale and after you book keep checking and calling for adjustments and upgrades! Happy planning!!!

  15. Thanks for the heads up about the location of the Sheraton. We plan on leaving Staten Island around 10 am so depending on traffic I figure we should be in Boston by 3. Would like to explore the city and have a nice seafood dinner (suggestions appreciated:)). Would like to spend all day Thursday sightseeing bought a groupon for the HOHO trolley and then a game at Fenway. The W is looking better and the suggestion of parking offsite sounds good…just concerned about leaving luggage in car we have a Ford Flex so its visible. The Sheraton Boston and Westin Copley have no availability. It would be a no brainer to book the W but I was trying to conserve points (son is getting married in Nov. would like to give him some nights towards honeymoon). I really7 appreciate all the help! Thanks:)

  16. Thanks Carol. The W offers parking for $49 a day where the Sheraton is free. I like the convenience of the W but its going to cost much more. I believe the Sheraton has a shuttle to transportation but not sure so i'll check it out. Is the Sheraton really far from the city?

  17. 138east would like your opinion/ help. Arriving 7/9 for 2 nights sailing NCL's Dawn on the 11th, I have a reservation at Four Points Sheraton Logan Airport using my cc points. When I went on the website its actually a few miles away from the airport. I can stay at the Boston W also using points but almost double. Do you think I should switch hotels? Our plan was to sightsee on Wednesday and catch a game at Fenway Thursday night and head to port Friday morning. If we stay in the Sheraton should we take public into the city or chance finding parking? Appreciate any advise.
