We were just on the Wind Spirit in French Polynesia and we LOVED it! So did the rest of the friends we made on the cruise. I heard no complaints, excepting not having enough indoor space for visiting with friends. The lounge was a nice space but the onboard entertainment was too loud for conversation. Otherwise the accommodations, service and food plus excursions were all terrific!

We didn't do this excursion, we went on a snorkeling tour. However we wandered around Fakarava before the tour and it is very flat with some trees but not like other islands. It is basically a coral reef. The water is gorgeous and the people and warm and friendly.

We were just on the Wind Spirit in Jan/Feb and yes you can just get the fins. You get them at the beginning of the cruise and turn them in the next to the last day.

We booked our 11 nt cruise on the Wind Spirit months ago. We just saw a sale advertised and our agent called Windstar. We are getting an OBC of $600 pp. We are VERY pleased. We got our cabin choice plus enough for the drink package and laundry package.

Yay! Shore excursions have appeared! Now to just make decisions!

I know I can purchase shore excursions onboard or from other suppliers, but I am excited about the cruise and want to plan and dream.

Thanks for the replies. I have gone into My Windstar several times, looking to view shore excursions but nothing comes up. So I guess I need to have patience, right? It's difficult, though.

We are cruising on the Wind Spirit in late January 2018. When should we expect shore excursions to become available for booking?

Thanks for the organized, thoughtful review. I do appreciate it. I have one suggestion for the noisy nights--try booking an aft cabin. We love the aft location because most passengers don't come to that part of the ship. It's just out of their way. So we get very little passenger traffic there. Just a thought.

All of the previous posters are right about their observations about HAL. One thing I would add is they have great mixology classes! We did the Panama Canal on HAL last year and the mixology class was a highlight. We took all 4 classes and met a great group of people, both cruisers and staff!

So I guess it sounds like we need to bring a bag of chips with us!

Does the salsa bar serve chips with the salsa? Our son was on the Triumph a few months ago and they didn't have any chips!

I am amazed at how many people don't like it! But that's fine, that much more for me!!

I'm not going to tell! Too many others competeing for our cabins anyway!!
