Onward is very much work in progress re service and food quality. They know they have issues and have had head office people onboard looking at things so hopefully there are quick fixes before you sail.
Entertainment is good and if you have your Azamazing evening on St Kitts it’s a great event showcasing Island music and song.

The Azamazing Evening was indeed a showcase of local music, song and dance of St. Maartin, not St. Kitts. Don’t want the questioner to be disappointed if looking forward to it on St. Kitts.

Large ships have always had to tender in Monaco if fact Azamara very often have to, we were there during the Grand Prix with Journey and Quest  together and both had to tender.

As long as we are in Monaco for the Race, tendering is not an issue for us.

Did you attend the Race?  On your own or through the Ship? Interested in your experience.

    Thanks,

These types of changes are wins for some and losses for others, depending on whether you wanted to be in Nice.  Nice is still doable from that dock, but it is a pain.  We've done and prefer Nice (Cours Saleya, Chagall Museum, Promenade) to Monte Carlo / Monaco.  The good news is that appears that the mega ships are no longer welcome to dock in Monaco and you will probably have the dock to yourself.

    Excellent points!

For us it was an unexpected bonus. We booked this cruise specifically to attend the Grand Prix, knowing we would have to travel from Nice to Monaco for the Race. Guess I was only thinking of our circumstance.

The Journey docked in Monaco for this year’s Race but were initially not given dock space for next year’s.

The Grand Prix won’t be of interest to all, but perhaps to many, as the cruise “Grand Prix and Riviera Voyage” may have attracted Race enthusiasts.

I certainly hope those wishing to enjoy Nice will be able to.

    Thank you for your input.

  4. The day of the Monaco Grand Prix the Journey was scheduled to be in moored in Nice. Not ideal for sure. We were recently notified that we will now port in Monaco. What a positive change! More time to enjoy Monaco and to attend the Race!!  Thought I would pass along this bit of good news.

Any other positive changes to share?

  5. I'm reading a lot of complaints online about Freestyle, but it is working for me. I guess it just depends on 1) whether you like the zero point foods and 2) whether you can control zero point food portions.

Anyway, I'm now down 6 of the 12 pounds I wanted to get off by December 5. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it to my goal. I've joined an exercise challenge on a FB group for Lifetimers for the month of October, I'm hoping that will help me stick to my goals. Oh and part of that is trying to build up an at-home yoga practice. I'm going to be on the ship for 5 months and need a fall back source of exercise for days at sea!

Wow! Hard to believe that there are many complaints about Freestyle. I’ve been a Lifetime Member for about 30 years, although have had to rejoin many times due to my yo yo weight gains. Each time I rejoined there was a different “Program” to follow. Freestyle (for me) is the most effective and easiest program of all. I’ve lost 25 pounds in 4 months with the help of the Zero Point Foods. I also have found the motivational/emotional aspects of the meetings very helpful. I plan to continue attending meetings now that I am back at my goal so I’ll FINALLY keep the weight off! (I’ll check in after 9 days on the Infinity in November!)

  6. Hi uktog,

I hope Azamara has not been relegated to second place in your hearts! You and Mr Uktog are very important to us, and your feedback is always welcomed, and shared amongst the relevant teams.

I've shared your suggestion about the 'quiet box system' for our walking tours. It sounds like a great improvement to the experience of straining to hear the guide. I imagine the locals appreciate it as well...fewer shouting tour guides in crowded areas.

    Bonnie,

On our recent Journey cruise “whispers“ were used on some, but not all of our tours, all of which were Azamara tours. Have also encountered them on some Celebrity tours and on Viking River Cruises tours.

  7. Checking in one week after returning from wonderful 12 day Azamara Cruise. At weigh in yesterday I was DOWN 1.2 lbs!

How? Well, I used zero point foods at Breakfast. Veggie omelettes and lots of fruit. Salads and chicken, fish or shrimp for lunch and sensible dinners. Avoided bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. Light on the desserts.

    10,000 steps most days.

What was my reward? Wine with Lunch and Dinner!

This week’s loss brought me 1.8 lbs from my Lifetime Goal so no more paying unless I gain 0.2 lbs. Too close for comfort. MY GOAL is to get 5 lbs below WW’s goal.

  8. Thanks to posts on this Forum, we booked the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers before our recent Azamara Cruise. As we were unfamiliar with the area, our primary reason for this choice was the availability of shuttles from the Airport and to the Cruise Terminal. They serviced the Crowne Plaza and the AC Hotel.

The hotel was beautiful and the service, excellent. Not close to the City Center, though.

  9. We were on Journey and disembarked yesterday. Can confirm that no peanuts or appetisers were offered to guests waiting in Discoveries to go into dinner. We tended to have our pre dinner drinks in the Living Room, where nuts and tapas were provided. We asked for another key card holder as only one was initially offered.

    Lynne:)

    Lynne,

I was on the same cruise and was offered both peanuts and a dish of cheese, olives and another choice while having pre dinnner drinks. Also asked for a second key holder and received it. BYW, Celebrity no longer provides them,at least not to those in Aqua.

  10. Checking in. Congratulations to those of you with great weight losses and those who are struggling-you’re still at it!

This is week 16 this time around and I’m down 22 pounds. Starting a cruise on week 17 was my motivation. Wanted to be 25 down, but I happy with my result.

WW now says it’s not about the weight and for my fellow member who at week 16 got her 10 lb charm it wasn’t. She was proud of what she had learned, the changes she has made and the challenges she has overcome!

I hope her journey thus far and its results will be an example. It is for me.

  11. Be careful what you wish for..... I'm on one Roll Call where there is a group that knows each other and posts frequently about what they are doing on a day to day basis in their current life. A couple of posters have written "What does this have to do with our cruise?" and are told that making friends is part of the Roll Call. Hmm. Yes, but I am not really interested in the current weather/wedding/anniversary/dinner plans of people I have yet to meet. I wish they would take their talk to another forum. I've stopped even reading that thread....

I was on a RC like that once, found it very annoying and did stop reading it. Guess I’m hoping for a happy medium! Oh, well!!

  12. I’ve been a roll call veteran for almost 15 years here and have definitely noticed a downturn in participation is the last two years or so. No real speculation as to why.

That’s the main reason for my question.

Perhaps the Edge sailings will have busier RCs. I know my busiest RC was for the Silhouette’s Maiden US voyage out of Port Liberty.

  13. I was just on a quiet roll call and could not figure it out. Here are some possible reasons. Most cruisers were first or second time cruisers who had no interest in the roll call. In addition, many were part of larger groups who had their own communication network. It was so quiet that they could not get more than 17 for a Meet and Mingle. It was never held. We had a great cruise as our fellow cruisers were enthusiastic and very friendly.

Glad to see your post on this Board!

Are you doing the Equinox Feb 16,2019?

It has a slow Roll Call also.

    Agnes

  14. I’m a member of four X Roll Calls, none of which are active. It’s not the cruise length (4,5,7 and 14 days), the time of year (September, November and February) or the time until sailing (3 months, 6 months and 13 months).

Any active Roll Calls out there?

Any reason for them being active?

    Just curious.

    TIA

    Agnes

  15. Not wanting to sit next to someone because they may have different taste in clothes seems a tad superficial to me. I would prefer to sit next to someone, interesting, funny and kind hearted however they dress, remember “clothes do not make the man (or women)”

Sent from my iPad using Forums

I have a feeling the Poster was referring to the odor factor, not to a person’s mode of dress. Possibly?
