  1. The best place to stay for theatre in our opinion is the Hampshire Leicester Square. It is a five star with the best service in London. HOHO on the corner, hundreds of restaurants, Coventry Garden, museums and China Town in walking distance as are many many theatres.

There are also several lower priced hotels in and around the square.

Thank you, orchestrapal, we will check it out.

    Happy New Year.

  2. How about the Doubletree Westminster?

I am also interested in knowing more about Doubletree Westminster. We will be in London 3 days prior to our cruise. We mainly are interested London theatre, Buckingham Palace, HOHO bus tours and then transportation to Southampton.

    Thank you.

  3. We were on the Island Princess when a Catholic priest was on board as a passenger. He held Sunday morning mass service which was well attended. The lounge was standing room only.

Although we are not Catholic, we enjoyed the service and message very much. It was especially nice to hear a prayer for all sailors and ships at sea.

  4. Hello RCL cruisers

We are Platinum level cruisers with Princess and love PCL. However, we are cruising with our kids and grandkids and, frankly, think RCL is a better fit for the younger crowd. We have cruised with PCL so many times that we kind of sleepwalk through the planing, booking, cruising, boarding etc. Booking with RCL I find I have questions and am hoping you all can give me some RCL tips and hints.

We are cruising 2017 on Explorer of the Seas to Alaska. 7 adults, 4 kids.

    - can we bring water/sodas on board?

    - are cabins ready and accessible upon boarding?

    - does MDR serve lunch on boarding day?

    - any special perks for booking a junior suite?

Any other advise for novice RCL cruiser will be appreciated.

We are really looking forward to our RCL adventure.

  5. We were on our port side balcony watching two Bing Bong People trying to run to the ship. The woman was making an exhausted huffing/puffing run. But the man, Carl, was too drunk and just sat down. The woman started to encourage him by yelling,"Carl!!, Run, Carl, Run!" Well, of course, pretty soon everyone was out on their balconies yelling, Run, Carl, Run. A loud chorus of Run, Carl, Run.

To this day we will say Run, Carl, Run to each other when we are hurrying to get somewhere.

    FYI....Carl made it on board.

  6. We have cruised with our granddaughter who has a peanut allergy We always have Anytime Dining. We meet with the maitre'd and have been assigned to the same dining table each night. The wait staff and maitre'd are very attentive and planned her dinner choices with her. Most nights she wanted chicken fingers, grapes and strawberries.

We didn't think to check in with the ships Doctor, but will on future cruises.

  7. For us the turkey dinner on the last night of the cruise is part of the end of cruise tradition. Packing for disembarkation, checking with the purser to go over the account, being sure we have clothes in which we can walk off the ship, Tom turkey dinner in MDR all signal the cruise is over. 😥

  8. To the OP

If you are like me you saved, planned, hoped and dreamed of your cruise. Don't let terrorists take away your hopes and dreams.

The Parisiens are doing all they can to go back out and triumph over the terrorists.

    Enjoy your cruise.
