  1. This is also off topic, but does anyone know how to get the balance to go toward expenses while on the cruise? I thought I saw someone else post that you could no longer take the print out of the E gift certificate to guest services and get them to put it on the Sail & sign card. I hope this isn’t the case because I have a balance of almost 300 after paying for my cruise, gratuities, and pre-orders. I want to use the balance toward drinks, but I don’t want to buy cheers because my son doesn’t drink.

  2. I have so enjoyed this review, and recognize some of the staff from our many cruises.  Thank you for all the wonderful pictures, Patti.
i’m hoping I can get an answer from you about the ship time versus Cabo San Lucas time. Are they the same or is Cabo and hour ahead or behind? I ask because I want to book a whale watching tour but I don’t want to miss the last shuttle back to the boat.

  3. I get it but what difference (either way actually) does that make to you? You choose whether it is morning, evening or both. For many frequent cruisers who have experienced both, they either need or want both. If they get or feel pressured for less they feel cheated or deprived and the only they can express that displeasure is in tipping (or to guest services).

The majority of new cruisers (Carnival’s model btw) have nothing to compare (unless reading about it here) and will probably pick one or the other.

Makes no difference to me. I was just making the point because others were saying that having to clean the room once a day is half the work and I was pointing out that isn’t so in every case

  4. For the most part one time a day is less work. But in some respects it’s just twice as much work done once a day instead of half-and-half. For example, there will be twice as much trash and things will be a little more dirty so it will take longer. I myself will be asking for two times and feeling comfortable with it based on this thread. Thank you.

  5. Hoping some platinum/diamond cruisers can help me out...

I'm having trouble figuring out how to take advantage of this advertised benefit.

When I get on board and go toward our cabin to quickly drop off our carryon/backpacks, I find partitions with signs saying the cabins will be available after 1pm. Are those of us that get the early access benefit supposed to go somewhere different, just go in anyway, or what?

Also confused about priority debarkation. How does that work? I never saw any instructions on and just ended up in the very long line with our zone number being called. But I hear about a separate waiting area? Is that at a standard location or do I need to go to Guest Services on each cruise to find out the location and time to go there on debarkation day?

    Thanks!

  6. I can't give you my experience yet, but I also bought the citypass for myself and my 17 y.o. son next month.

We plan to fly in about 9am on a Sat. morning, and then do the aquarium that day and the harbor cruise that sunset. On Sun, we will do the wharf area, gum wall, and then up to the space needle and Chihuly. On Monday the zoo and maybe MoPop if we're up for it. Then cruise T morning!!

  7. Thanks!! As great of a story it is for Vegas, that their new expansion team made it to the finals, Caps fans have waited their entire lifetimes for this moment, and Ovechkin deserves it. Vegas can have it next year, their fans can wait another year.

Either way, a team that has never won the Cup will win it this year.

I agree with you. It's great that the cup will go to a team that hasn't gotten it yet. I'm in Vegas and was a Knights fan before they got into the finals, and will see them through thick and thin. GoKnightsGo!

  8. Yes, I'm guilty of it too. I want to get a nice head change and try to keep it the whole week (afternoons and evenings). In order to do that with all the food and the weak drinks, I really DO have to drink at least 8 a day. I don't want to get sloppy or have a hangover, but I definitely want to get a buzz; otherwise why drink? So yes, I do try to get my money's worth!! ;p

  9. My reason is that I’m always looking for a bargain. My credit cards give me usually 1% cashback. If I purchase gift cards for carnival through AARP and use them to pay for the cruise cash, I get a better discount, 10% off. And what I don’t spend on board I will just throw into a casino machine on the last night, do 1 pull for the minimum amount, and then cash out.

  10. you received an invitation.

Where would I have received the invitation? In my stateroom? in an email? in the mail?

I never received an invitation, I'm pretty sure. How could I have missed it in 5 separate cruises? I suspect they just didn't follow through. Others in our group suggested to just keep an eye out in the Fun Times but never saw it there either. Hmmm...:confused:
