  1. Date: Dec. 28,02014

    Ship: Dream

Class of Guarantee: Balcony and Interior

Cabin Assigned: 6294 (8B) and 6316 (4E) Both midship and just a few feet from each other!

Date Assigned: 34 days before sailing

I'm very pleased with these cabins - similar locations to what I would have chosen myself. Because I gave up an aft-wrap balcony, I have an onboard credit of $1500 from that room, and saved $600 off my balance due on the interior room for a total savings of $2100 - by far my biggest discount ever using early saver. :D

  2. Carnival does not publish all the rooms that are available. For example, I have a gty room booked, but not assigned, on the Dec. 28 sailing of the Dream. Currently Carnival only shows 3 balcony rooms available. Obviously there are rooms being held for the gty pool, but these rooms aren't being shown as available inventory. We will all just have to wait until our rooms are assigned, even though it would be nice if we could "guess" where they might be.

  3. Am I right in thinking that you can only one item from each course? One app, one salad, one side, etc.? Any side dish recommendations? Any sauce recommendations?

Yes, that's correct, but I've been able to order 2 app's if I don't order a salad...YMMV. Don't worry, though...you will be stuffed by the end of the meal!

  4. I'm not a fan of the AFT balcony either. Although I didn't encounter any soot or flying garbage, my biggest complaint was the heat. It was so hot during the day we couldn't enjoy it. Pros were that we enjoyed the view...but I wouldn't pay extra for it. I also didn't like being that far from the elevator.

  5. I know I'm not the norm, but out of 11 cruises I have had 3 accidents requiring medical attention. One was serious enough the ships Dr recommended I debark in Cozumel and receive attention there, but I was more comfortable waiting until we got back to the US (it was an orthopaedic issue).

Obviously I'm a big proponent of insurance - it should be factored into everyones budget as a cost of travel, imo.

  6. You're welcome! I never pack a robe anymore although I usually pack an easy to throw on sundress sort of a moo moo that I wear to answer the door for room service. Gotta have my morning coffee! My favorite thing if I'm able to have a balcony is to sit out there watching the ocean with a big cup of coffee in the mornings. :)
