  1. When are you sailing? I'm very interested for my Allure sailing this Fall. I've already looked at the Apple digital adapter to purchase for my iPad. Please let us know if you're successful.

We sail on Thursday. Our challenge right now is to see if our Directv account will let us stream away from home!

I'll let you know how it turns out either way!

  2. If the HDMI does work you will need an Apple lightning digital AV adaptor, this will allow the HDMI cable to be connected to your iPad. If your iPad is the older version with 30 pins then you will need the equivalent adaptor. You will need an HDMI cable and this is all provided the TV will allow to do this.

Thank you! I'll keep my fingers crossed it will work.

  3. If this question has already been answered in a previous thread, I was unable to find any answers within the last year.

I am trying to find out what all I will need to connect an iPad to the stateroom tv. I already plan to take a Samsung remote. Will I need an HDMI cable and/or something else? If someone has found success in connecting, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  4. We did the Flavors tour last week and it was definitely a highlight! It was a great mix of food tastings and history. We covered a lot of ground walking and saw several local sights. Even my teen thought it was great.

We also had a short time in San Juan - 7am-2pm. We ran off the ship and did a Segway tour from 7:30-noon, then met up with the Flavors tour guide on the dock. We arrived back at the dock around 1:15. We booked through the cruise line, so were not worried about meeting the ship in time. In fact, there was a member of the ship's Shore Excursions team on the tour with us, evaluating the excursion.

So the tour was only about an hour?

  5. We did Flavors of San Juan walking food tour and loved it. Fantastic tour and guide, Juan Jose. (Handsome guy). I went with my 4 children ages 10, 12, 14 and 15. We all said it was one of the best excursions we've been on. Highly recommend. We met Juan at the pier at 9:15 and the tour finished about noon. We went to 3 different restaurants in Old San Juan. Each restaurant was ready for us when we arrived, the table was set and water was already poured. It was a very hot day. They restaurants were all very accommodating and provided great service. The food was all very good. We would do this tour again. But next time we won't eat breakfast before we go.

Thank you for the review and tip. I have never been to San Juan and this tour sounds awesome! Will be there in July!

  6. We have invited our friends to enjoy dinner from the MDR menu in our cabin, on the balcony, without any problem. We have also had friends in to watch movies on the DVR. Most other perks are for the "Gold Card" holders only.

I think that the perks on Oasis for GS are probably the best! Yes, be sure to order MDR in stateroom if you wish and go to CL for lunch! Definatey the best CL in the fleet :)

  7. Sorry, but I didn't make it past page three of Grand Cayman, but I'm curious about this excursion. How is this one different than the other two or three on their bookings? I have read the many posts of booking with private company, but I am a coward and prefer to book through the ship. Would love to hear about experiences with this specific excursion. Thanks in advance.

  8. Is it possible to fill out the registration paperwork pre-cruise or does it have to be filled out onboard?

I have never seen a form online. If you go in the afternoon prior to the muster drill, there won't be any lines. We've been in Adventure Ocean several times....it doesn't take much time if you go in the afternoon instead of the evening sign up time.

  9. I agree that GS is more luxurious, but the RFS is more spacious and you can do much more on the balcony. Our friends had twin babies and set up large pack and play during the day. It is also nice to enjoy dinner on the balcony with a nice table cloth in the RFS. You can order off the MDR menu from both suites, but there is no table in the GS. We have been fortunate to enjoy both on the Voyager class.

And I agree with the other posters that everyone can enjoy the CL with the RFS. Good luck on your decision :)

  10. I did it in St. Thomas and I honestly wouldn't do it again. It was three years ago, so I don't remember the details, but know that I wished I had selected something different. In could see just as many sea creatures by snorkeling as I could with the BOSS equipment. I had done an explore scuba course in Jamaica a few years prior, so this may have tainted my opinion.

  11. To the OP,

If you want to work your way quickly up the C&A ladder, I'll re-iterate the open secret that the JS has been the 'sweet spot' for my family of 4.

The 4 of us are all Diamonds now.

We always sail in a JS - bigger room and double points.

Kids are young and they want to be with parents. So it all works out nicely.

Same here...my next cruise will make me diamond plus (and two daughter plus the husband who hasn't stepped foot on a cruise ship ;) :) :) :)

  12. On our last trip to Belize, 5/02/2012 there was a fairly new Chocolate Factory located in the Tourist Village which my wife said was a ball. You can pay $20.00 & you get to make a couple of chocolate bars. They also offer a spicy hot chocolate. It is located quite close to the Wet Lizzard in the TV.

    Enjoy Belize.
