Try Sandy Beach Hotel? We just booked 4 rooms there this week as our original hotel cancelled us. Might not be the best hotel, but it is at least a bed with a roof over your head.[/quote
Did you end up staying at the Sandy Beach hotel? If so, how was it? I recently reserved a couple rooms for 1 night pre cruise. Just wondering how the place was. Thanks.

Hi, I have a reservation there next Friday 12/22 but haven't been able to call them to confirm my reservation due to phone lines alway being busy(assuming they are down still) and they aren’t replying on Facebook

Wanted to let people know, I heard a rumor about a price drop on our cruise. Leaving San Juan March 4, 2018, Jewel of the Seas....So I contacted my TA and when all was said and done, I kept same stateroom, at my request, gave up $125 OBC, but, saved $965 from initial booking. Almost seems to good to be true but have email confirmation. :D:D:D

Will be arriving in San Juan in March of 2018 around 5am the morning that our cruise leaves. Obviously have about 6 or so hrs before being able to board ship. Will have carry-on luggage. Have seen the forts. Just wanna hang out on the beach. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

We'll be arriving at the Cruise Port on a Sunday and have a late flight. Anyone know where we can store our luggage until about 3pm so we can explore San Juan a bit before our flight? Thanks,
Ours is just the opposite. We arrive in San Juan at about 5am and cannot board until about 11. What can we do with out luggage?

We're getting off the Jewel of the Seas and have a very long wait until our flight (3am) --- any suggestions what to do with luggage until we head to the airport? Hopefully around 10pm or so.....
Our issue is just opposite. We arrive in San Juan at about 5am and cannot board until 11 or so...what besides packing it around with us can we do with our luggage?

I'd like to look at this for you, but I don't see a Freedom cruise on June 3, 2018. Do you mean June 2, 2018?
Also, are you selecting any other options like Senior, Residency, Military, etc.?
Yes sorry, it is the 2nd. No other options...

I have sailed three times but never really checked prices. Am looking at booking again and was studying prices a little more thorough. Can someone explain how it works. Here is what I seen on a mock booking:
When I select my room for my cruise, room price shows $949 for balcony on Freedom OTS on June 3, 2018. When I go to next page to select room type, choose ocean view and the price goes to $989. After selecting room type, deck location, and then specific room, go to summary page and the room is then $1627. Can someone please explain this? Thanks.

You should have enough time to do both. The forts open at 9am and theres a $5.00 fee which cover the two. A free trolly runs from directly in front of the cruise terminals. You also can catch the trolly to El Morro but its not a hard walk.If there are any ships in port for the day you might have to wait on line. Cristabol is about a 15 minute walk but its all up hill. To get from Cristibol to El Morro just follow the ocean wall to it. Takes about another 10 to 15 minutes. This walk is a flat and or downhill walk. From El Morro to the port, another 10 minute walk. There are a couple of restaurants that will hold your luggage, off hand I dont remember who they were. Look through the posts you might find them. Download a city tour map, theres a lot of sights to see in a small city.
Thanks so much for the info!

Flying in to SJU and scheduled to arrive @5:50am on 3/11/17 for cruise to leave that night. My question is can I do both forts and be back at the pier for boarding around 12:00pm? And secondly, any suggestions on the best way to do the forts, i.e. which one first, how to get from one to the other, what to do with luggage, etc. Thanks for any help..

Just an FYI....I posted on Trip Advisor about Maya Chan. Was our experience January of 2012.

I noticed below you said Capt Morgan was/is a waste of time. Some in our group really want to do this. There are eight of us. How about getting transportation? Still readily available and approx cost? Thanks!
