If you are in a suite and book one of those cabins for a family member that are also in the same category.  That is the purpose of those cabins.  You may have to pay more than the rate for an inside cabin. It is like those adjoining cabins next to the penthouse suites on the M class.  We had 11172 and asked the attendant about the adjoining door to 11170.  He said it is for families in that suite wanting the extras space for others traveling with them.   It isn’t the same  as booking  a regular inside cabin, or IV with a SS.

That is also why I suggested to look into it.

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

    Hi,

can I ask you if you had a lot of knocking and pinging in that room ?  We were in it for the March 1st sailing and had to be moved it was so noisy.

  2. Not sure who is monitoring this thread anymore but if there are any locals, I was wondering how far the sunshine mall is from the cruise port and if it’s in an ok area and easy to get to. A few years back my daughter in law painted a mural there and we wanted to see it when we’re there?

  3. Are you still monitoring this thread? If so, I was wondering how far the sunshine mall is from the cruise port and if it’s in an ok area and easy to get to. A few years back my daughter in law painted a mural there and we wanted to see it when we’re there?

When is your cruise? If it anytime before next summer, you should have no problem parking in the garage. However, from May until sometime in September there are three ships here. The Summit, two Royal Caribbean ships including starting next year the Oasis. A parking spot is guaranteed, but not necessarily in the garage. You  may get surface parking in one of the lots.

Hi, a few years back before the garage, there used to be an issue with some cars getting spray painted from the nearby boatyard. If you have to park in an overflow area, is that still an issue?

  5. "What a horrible thing to have to endure!". You're kidding, right. If that's the worst thing they ever 'have to endure' they are lucky people indeed.

So because there are worse things that can happen in life they should sleep on that nastiness and consider themselves lucky? I think you're missing the point here.

  6. Most walking tours such as this one https://www.freetour.com/malaga/free-walking-tour-malaga meet at the Plaza de la Constitucion which is only a 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral. If you are have a different meeting point just let me know where it is.

I am not sure that the shuttle bus will be running in time for you to get to 9 a.m. mass so it would probably be safer to take a taxi to the Cathedral or the walk from the cruise terminal would take around 20-25 minutes.

Thanks so much for the info. I checked our tour and it does meet there. We will most likely go with a taxi as the rest of the day will be filled with walking.

  7. Hi Campolady

You really are a foutain of information on this site. Thank you so much!! I have a quick question for you. We are stopping in Malaga on Sunday May 12th. We have signed up for the free walking tour that I think begins at 11am. As it is a Sunday, we would like to attend mass at the cathedral first. I think I saw a mass time of 9am, is it a far walk to where the walking tour begins if we attend that mass? Also, would we just take the shuttle to the center of town and walk to the cathedral?

  8. Bolgheri is in Tuscan Maremma area which is much closer to La Spezia then Chianti, wine is amazing in all that area if you are a wine lover which doesn't necessarily means you should be an expert!

You only need find the best winery where you can do a wine tasting and have a great lunch.

    Have fun planning :)

Thanks, if we do go with one of these, I think the closer one wins......less time traveling is always better!!

  9. If you’re not really a wine guy, I would suggest NOT taking a tour that does wine tastings at several wineries. Find a tour that walks you through the wine making process. One that shows you the vineyards, processing area, cellar and ends with tastings.

My DW who’s not a wine drinker found it very educational and have started to try some whites.

We’ve done this type of tour in Valpolicella, Napa, Oregon, Washington and BC and enjoyed every one of them.

A weeks stay in a Tuscany winery b&b is on my bucket list.

That's not a bad idea, I can compare it to my Grandmothers wine making from many years ago. Thanks.

  10. Well... pretty hard to say, as we know nothing about you, and about your research. We can say from our personal experience that Rome in Limo's chianti tour is really nice, and they will customize to assist your desires. We can personally, easily, recommend Rome in Limo.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Not sure if you really need to know anything about me except that I know nothing about wine. Ha. It isn't really a question about if it is right for me. I was wondering if either of the two regions I mentioned was better than the other one. Same goes for the tour company. They are about the same price and are offering pretty much the same type of trip so I figured I'd ask if one was better than the other. Rome in limo gets a lot more ink than prestige rent.

  11. Hi,

I will be traveling to the area next May on the Reflection and have been researching wine tasting tours from La Spezia. Not being a wine guy, I am not sure if one is better than the other. I have found a couple, one is to Chianti region by Prestige Rent and the other Bolgheri region by Rome in limo. I'm wondering if it is better to pick by region or by tour company or if there is a lot of difference either way. Any input on this would be much appreciated .

  12. Thanks again all.....I knew cruise critic would be the pace to go for answers!! I am taking a few euros with me and I checked with my bank as far as their fees and letting them know about my plans. I am pretty sure I am all set for a wonderful vacation. Thanks again!!

  13. Hi,

I will be going to Italy in a couple of weeks and have a few of questions about the ATM machines. Can you use a credit card or just debit cards. Do they require a chip? Is there a rule about the pin number not starting with zero?

We are actually doing a land based tour but I know CC is the place to go for accurate information.

  14. There is a shopping area within the port area and Royal Village across the road. Some people say shopping is better at Puerta Maya port, 5 minutes walk to the south.

Bars are not the best within the port facility, 1/2 snr frogs, if that appeals, and a small one that has no view.

    Thanks for the replies.

  15. Hi Folks,

Can someone tell me what the Cab Fare is to Paradise Beach from the International Pier? Also, is there a port shopping area there, are there things to do within walking distance if we just want to walk around while after a few hours at the beach?

  16. Thanks, gh. I'll be moving from a CS to a PH for the 2nd cruise. And having that booze will certainly be a PLUS for the parties. I'll have to ensure I take the right liquor off the ship, and keep the right ones in the cabino.... I see many "happy" hours as we sail toward Bonaire....

Save the good stuff for our part. HA.

  17. We're sailing the Equinox in November. On Nov 11th, we'll be in Grand Cayman - scheduled arrival 8 AM. We were planning on taking a tour with Acquarius, but they said meeting time is 8:45 AM. We think this is aggressive, although we've only been to GC once before and took a later tour (so we didn't watch the time that carefully).

Has anyone else tendered from the Equinox or similar sized ship into Grand Cayman? We're only in a Concierge class cabin, so won't have priority tender tickets.

Hi, how you doing. Just poking around and came across this. I don't have the answer but maybe you want to post this on the GC port board as well.

  18. Have 4:00 afternoon flight out of Fort Lauderdale post cruise. Interested in simple tour or options just to kill time with drop off at airport.

Ha, I was coming here to ask the same question but you beat me to it. When I was on the Connie in December in FLL, they did not give us the luggage delivery option so it is not always available, not sure why.

Does anyone know of non ship excursions with pick up and drop off?

  19. Do you mind if I ask why you decided not to? Did someone have not good things to say? I was unsure at first but since the reviews were favorable and it is only one night I went for it. I will report back on how it was.

Sorry I haven't been back in a while. We decided to stay Only one night and already had the embassy suite booked. We were thinking of adding a night and staying on the beach but decided not to. Funny thing is we may flip again depending on flights so I may still book this. Have you heard any more about it?
