On SBS tonight at 7:35pm. Only just noticed it in the guide. :)

Now on their way to Papeete . Anyone hear how they got on at Pitcairn?
I heard they did 2 laps of the island (circumnavigation that is). No word whether the locals got out to the ship or not.
-
Family on board have reported via FB that they missed Easter Island and are heading to Pitcairn. Disappointing for them.
-
Thanks for the info. We are on Majestic in December.
cheers

Once you are in the CBD there are 3 free bus services running Mon-Fri only. Look for the red stops.
Bus route 40 travels clockwise https://jp.translink.com.au/plan-your-journey/timetables/bus/t/40
Bus route 50 travels anti-clockwise https://jp.translink.com.au/plan-your-journey/timetables/bus/t/50
Bus route 30 is the Springhill loop https://jp.translink.com.au/plan-your-journey/timetables/bus/t/30
A pdf can be downloaded https://translink.com.au/sites/default/files/assets/timetables/170109-40,50.pdf
There is no tourist commentary or anything. They are provided to help everyone get around.

If you get any web cam capture, let me know and I can tell you how to upload them to here (Its very easy).
So it's after 6am and they haven't budged yet. I'm off to work so it looks like I'll miss any possible webcam action. :(

I think we will be able to see Sea Princess on these webcams:
http://www.nyharborwebcam.com/
soon....
Thanks for the links. I'm hoping to catch them on their sail out. Roughly at 6am Thursday (Brisbane time) if my info is correct.
-
They should be arriving at Halifax soon.
The Sea Princess has arrived at Halifax.
Best webcam is https://www.novascotiawebcams.com/en/webcams/pier-21/
You need to wait for it to pan across to the right.

They should be at Muscat in the next hour or so.
Weather on the webcam doesn't look great at the moment.

The Mossman gorge is within the Daintree National park.
We did that trip in 2017 and have some info on my blog for that day.
https://occasionalcruiser.blogspot.com.au/2017/04/monday-10th-april-2017-port-douglas.html
There is a website with further info. https://www.mossmangorge.com.au/
I'm rushing off to work but will check in tonight if you have any further questions that the others can't answer.
cheers Judy

Enjoy your cruise!

According to a blog onboard ( thread on Cunard forum ) it is a combination of the 2 day religious holiday and the fact that the Indonesian immigration officials were unable to board in Darwin.
Confirmed by post on twitter that Bali immigration couldn't board in Darwin to do the checks necessary for a call there. Sailing onto Singapore, arriving Friday.

Quote from one of the submissions ....
"in the event the agreement is authorised, Portside is likely to close because all of Carnival's midsizedand smaller ships will go to the new facility under the agreement, and no other cruise operatorhas ships of a size which can dock at Portside. Portside will no longer be under any legal obligation tothe State of Queensland to operate a cruise terminal and will be free to redevelop the terminal site."
The main theme from most of the submissions to the ACCC is that Carnival will squeeze out the competition and we will be back to exactly the same situation as we have now, just with larger ships from the Carnival brand.
So it will be interesting to see how the ACCC rules and how this will pan out.
-
I think it's a shame it's not being built big enough for 2 ships at a time straight up. I can see 2 or 3 years of operation and then needing to expand.

Queen Mary 2 and Seven Seas Voyager in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga today:
I managed to catch Seven Seas Voyager arriving this morning on the QM2 webcam.
-
There is some interesting documents on the ACCC website.
One of the submissions (Jan 2018) has before and after photos showing that the construction, or preparation of the site, is underway.

Any updates on this galah’s adventures?
