Would you be done with cruising if all major cruise lines have long hold times right now? Cuz they do. Everyone is calling because everyone is confused with cancellations, mask requirements, test requirements, etc.... Switching to a smaller ship line might help get you on the horn with someone quicker,  Seabourn, SilverSea, SeaDream Yacht Club, Azamara.

If you think Carnival, Princess, etc are any better right now, I would like to say, you're wrong.

I am surprised they don't have a call back system for long hold times.

Didn't really want to comment on the thread....Was just impressed with the "Moltar" avatar! 😁👍

    Carry on..

When I first received my traditional sea pass card no indicated drink package eg. “CALL” in lower left corner. Went to CS they called casino received confirmation. New card prepared. Re internet. Went to internet lab. Told I needed code. Went to casino and received a strip of paper with code. Gave it to internet lab. They installed 7 weeks worth of internet. Will find out today about free play and The Retreat. I think because almost everyone has All Included it takes a few more steps for a comped cruiser with no AI to get set up.

Appreciate the updates and the info.

    Thanks again and safe travels.

  3. It was pretty easy to use. I just came off the Sky, used Medallion many times on the machines, pretty much its a touch and pin # experience. If you get Free play, the cashier will place it on your account, find your machine, touch the Medallion to the pad and enter your pin #.

When you cash out after play, or go to the next machine, you hit the "cash out" tab, your amount gets placed in your virtual bank. Once you find your new machine, touch the Medallion, pin #, then enter "all" or a specific amount to play. Funds are now placed into the new machine that you are playing.

Always remember to hit "cash out" when you leave a machine each time.

At the end of the sailing, there will be a long line of folks cashing out their virtual bank. Princess does not automatically deposit your bank money back into your on board account.

    Happy playing.

  4. What bad press? 1186 people who read the thread on cruise critic and 1185 of them who pretty much didn't care about what happened or the fifteen bucks?

I won't dismiss the OP's feelings about this but we definitely have different opinions of "disaster" on a cruise.

  5. For those of you that have done the Vibe: "Assuming" the passes are still available, is this a MUST? Was it worth it? I have 4 -- 20 something kids in tow with us - would they like it? Any thoughts are welcome...thanks!

    77 Days to GO!

Greetings-no, definitely not for kids, and it is about 100.00 pp.

  6. Five of us will be cruising together: DH, me, and DS 22 (we will all be in the same midship balcony room and use the third person free promotion for DS) plus my parents -- active seniors who are both 81 (They will be in an adjoining midship balcony room). I'm looking at deck 14 more aft in the midship category near elevators for my dad.

Anyway DS 22 wants me to get Vibe passes if I can for him and my mom. They both like hanging out in the hot tub and have computer / photography interests in common and do a lot of photo editing, playing with apple stuff etc. together (thinking they'd do more of that in the room and on our balcony, but maybe they might do some of that on Vibe loungers, bring up MacBook pros, ipads, cameras, etc.

I heard I should try to get the earliest boarding group I can. Any tips for trying for an early boarding group?

I heard that first thing upon arrival I need to try to get those passes right away and that both my son and my mom need to be there (someone else can't do it for them). Where to we head on the Getaway to get these?

I also realize that they only sell like 70 passes, so I have said that we will try, but to definitely not count on it. And both parties are totally cool if it doesn't work, and in that case they will just use hot tubs in H20 area and elsewhere.

The other three of us just don't really hang at a pool or hot tub, so it only makes sense to get the passes for two out of the five in our party.

Anyway DS thinks the Vibe access would be awesome. (Well he'd really like the Haven, but that's not in budget, but Vibe passes are lol).

Appreciate any tips, recommendations. And I'm trying to level set expectations that this is not by any means something we can count on being able to get. But I would like to maximize chances for them if that's possible.:p

Greetings. You are correct in everything you said. We sailed on her in Nov. We arrived to the guest relations desk by 11:30, and we were able to get the last 4 tickets! So, early is early. You will enjoy the Vibe! Good luck!

  7. Does anyone have any pictures or preferably a video of Stateroom 9656 since the overhaul? I'm really on the fence weather or not to keep this room or downgrade to a 1 bedroom?

Actually, any video or pics of the 2 bedroom owners suite will do, I know there are only 3 of them on the ship!

    Thanks!

I am sailing in that same room this week. I will provide images after the sailing. There exists a video on You tube currently that is pretty accurate.

  8. We're going to be in a two bedroom suite on the jewel in a couple months. I know we will have access to the concierge lounge, but not sure what else. Also wondering about internet and if I should look at buying any of the drink packages or coffee cards. We don't drink a lot of alcohol (2 - 4 drinks a day), but prefer juice and coffee in the morning and my wife enjoys a specialty coffee occasionally. Thanks for any advice.

I am in the same type of cabin on Jewel for this Sunday’s sailing. I will try to give you feedback after the sailing.

  9. Kidding aside, we just got off her, we ate, gambled and enjoyed the ship. We had a very nice time, but did not see any shows. She is in good shape and the officers were very responsive. Safe sailing.

  10. Same scenario basically with me too, 20%. However, right before I ended the call I asked to check for another sail date in off peak, agent then tells me, "oh, we can comp you that one." So, I think you have a comp coming, just call back and ask for another sail date or ask for a way to maximize your rating. It still sucks that they didn't offer this info at first to either you or I. Good luck.

  11. Thanks for the review. We are sailing on her this Sunday. Just an FYI - As far as news of the tragedy, news media policy is not to exploit or make news of suicides-for the most part. Unfortunately, there are many copy cat events that occur. Back to the cruise, thanks again for the post, I already made a change to one of our restaurants! [emoji106]
