Barbados-the Boatyard, then take a tour from the beach. Swim with turtles and snorkel a shipwreck.

Thank you all for the great info, please keep 'em coming. The more info we have now, the better prepared we'll be once we're cruising.

In St. Maarten we also booked through a private tour company for a day in Pinel Island and snorkeling. We learned from the Port of Call section in CC that a taxi from the ship to the ferry (10 minute ride) that gets you to Pinel Island is not a problem but it can be a problem getting from the ferry to the ship since it's not that popular of an area. Some are now saying they had no problem with taxi's. We booked the "Pinel Island Beach Break" which also included snorkeling and use of snorkel equipment so we left mine on the ship and used theirs. We were allowed to keep it with us the whole day and snorkel when we wanted, but I don't know if they'll allow that if it's a busier day for them. We booked through SXM Deals through a recommendation and were told they were very reputable and would have us back to the ship in time. They were very organized, set times for everything. The snorkeling there was very good as well.

 

Which ever decide, I believe all of these islands offer at least some very decent snorkeling. There are snorkeling excursions that Carnival offers as well. One thing about an organized snorkeling excursion is that they will know the best spots to go to. Sorry this is so long, but I had a lot of help from others when planning our cruise and because of that help, we were really able to take advantage and do and see what we wanted and am hoping this is helpful to you in some way.

Hubby and I are sailing on the Carnival Valor soon and were wondering:

1) What are the internet rates for the Valor?

2) We're booked on a balcony on lido deck, does it have a mini-fridge?

3) While I have your attention can anyone recommend independent amazing snorkel excursions for the following ports:

St. Thomas

Barbados

St. Lucia

St. Kitts

Sint Maarten
