  1. For future reference... just spend onboard and charge to your mastercard for 2x points.  You get more bang for your buck paying off your cruise charges using points than you do using points to pre-buy on board credit.....

another side hustle...  charge say $2,000 to your card at a slot...  play once(maybe you win)  cash out for the $1999ish.    let your MC settle your bill, and that $2000 is worth 4000 points.   4000 points pays off $40 of your MC Statement.

Now say you have a $25,000 limit....   Just saying!!!!

Agree, but then the debate will start about the definition of fully vaccinated. Booster? second booster?

and then the debate on whether it's more likely for a fully vaccinated person NOT to know they are infected due to lack of symptoms, thus MORE important for a vaccinated person to take a test before boarding...  it's all just a headache to think about.

We just got off the Breeze on February 1, 2020. We stayed in a balcony cabin on lido. I didn’t see or smell any mold, and I am asthmatic. But, over 300 people in our FB roll call group came down with an upper respiratory infection or influenza A. I, unfortunately, am one of them.

Wow!!! Could this have been Coronavirus??

  4. We spent an extremely enjoyable day swimming in the ocean and relaxing on the beach. The only negative was our waiter, who completely vanished after putting in our first food order. Last time we were at Nachi, the service was absolutely unbelievable, but this waiter went M.I.A., which left us at a bit of a loss when we wanted to order more food. We didn’t see him again until we went to leave, but other than his poor service, we had a great day. If you’re looking for a place to have a relaxing day at a beautiful beach, I can’t recommend Nachi Cocom highly enough.

Even though we didn’t need to be back to the ship until 3:30, we decided to head back at 2:00. There were seven ships in port that day, carrying over 23,000 passengers, so we intended not to get stuck in a ridiculous return-to-ship traffic jam. This turned out to be a good call, as the return trip that typically takes 20 minutes took more like 45. We made it back without a problem, though navigating the Punto Langosta pier area was a bit confusing.

we were on this cruise too, and also went to Nachi Cocum. Our 3rd time to nachi and by far the worst waiter service. Also, the worst sea sickness ever on the Dawn. Never again on the Dawn for us.

  5. We have a Lido Balcony for June 6th. I ALMOST went guarantee but my sailing had a lot of upper deck balconies left over and I just don't want to risk getting stuck above a band or casino with a small toddler trying to sleep.

We Too have a Lido Balcony for that Cruise... HOWDY NEIGHBOR!!!

Excuse our mess, but we had 5 people in this inside cabin (M50)! We bought the cruise with an Inside Guarantee room and ended up in a great location! I've never been in any room lower than the Empress Deck, but this one wasn't bad at all. We don't spend much time in our room anyway, so we just need a place to rest our heads at night - this room was great for that!

Sushi bar at the buffet. They serve the same sushi here as they do at the sushi bar near the Casino and atrium:

As we were about to set sail in Charleston, a pelican flew down and landed on the deck of the ship! Two of my boys (background) were captivated and watched as the pelican marched around the deck. Amazingly the pelcan was not fearful of the people, music, or the picture-taking! My kids were able to get quite close. He finally few away after a few minutes and my 10 year old said that his wing hit him on the head as he flapped his wings to take off. Funny!

Then, there always seems to be one stange individual on your sailing that always ends up crossing your path during your cruise. We all got a "kick" out of this one - there was one individual that so closely resembled Santa Clause on our sailing! After we first spotted him on the first day, we saw him everywhere! I just couldn't resist taking a photo of him as much as I could. He always wore red and white and seemed to be friendly. Each time my 5 year old saw him on the ship, he would say, "Look! It's Santa!" One time, he said this so loud that the man heard him and waved. I was so embarrassed, but it was funny. Do you ever experience something like this on your cruises? Is there a certain individual that catches your attention on the first day (maybe an ugly couple, funny-looking person, etc.) that seems always cross your path on your cruise? It has happened to us during every cruise! This was ours for this cruise:

    More to come....

Is the Sushi on the Buffet at all times???

  7. Last year, cruising on Carnival Inspiration, I did pretty good.

Got a Straight Flush on 3 card poker with $15 bets(about $700), then a 3 of a kind the next night on $10 bets (about $400 total)....

I tried the slot tournament 3 times, didn't qualify, and while waiting on the wild card drawing, sat down at 3 card poker again, bought in for $100....put down $15, $15, $15 blind.(let the dealer turn them over)...STRAIGHT FLUSH!!! another $700ish, the others at the table were a little pissed....they were all down, and I sat down, played blind, and HIT.

Then they drew my ticket for the wildcard on the Slot Tournament...so the 8 of us began.....they had our scores covered. The guy running it knew the outcome so he started uncovering one at a time, starting with the lowest.....Then it got down to just me and the girl beside me....I offered her a deal....If I win, i'd give her $100 of the $500...and if she won, she'd give me $100.....She refused!....then I WON!!!....everyone gave her a hard time....then I bumped into her at breakfast the next morning...she said "is the deal still good".......I just laughed.

Cruise paid for, excursions paid for, and came home with about $800 extra!
