  1. As of December 2017, Carnival implemented new boarding passes and luggage tags ... one reason is because people were confused when both priorty and FTTF were printed on both... I suppose that's why guests thought they had FTTF when they really didn't

    Now ...

Diamond/Platinum - boarding passes and luggage tags are stamped PRIORTY

FTTF - boarding passes and luggage tags are stamped with FTTF

Suites - boarding passes are stamped with PRIORITY and luggage tags are blank

PRIORITY = check in, boarding and luggage ONLY

D/P/FTTF are the only guests who have early access to cabins

So, what happens if you are in a suite AND purchase FTTF? Which trumps which?

  2. Is there a current coupon code for spa services on Carnival?

YES! Works on the spa PASS as well! It was posted a couple of days ago. Use it quick!!

4SPA15 at checkout, good through 7/5 for pre-cruise bookings

  3. Not on it now, but, this is a repost I did a bit ago on another thread. We were on the 7/4 Sailing. We did not see Northern Lights.

We did do the small boat excursion. It does get closer than the ship. I'm glad we did it and I think it was worth the price. We saw two larger ships get much closer than the Legend did so I was glad we spent the extra money.

MDR is a mess. Seriously, a mess. The second night it took about 45 minutes to get bread and water. The staff is as friendly as possible with the chaos, but, it's a wreck. I think it is lack of training and, perhaps, an unorganized kitchen staff that is the cause.

Lido deck food is okay-not great-but okay. No bacon police, but, they are out of bacon FAST! If you take a break to talk the wait staff is there to take your plate. I wish they would slow down on that a bit, but, I appreciate their hard work. The pizza is great. Gluten Free take a bit longer, but, it's worth it. I DO wish they kept Chopsticks open longer. I think they had the best food on the ship, honestly.

Jen Baxter is a hoot! She was born for the job. She is so easy to spot and approach!

The performers are great! There is one young man, Jordan, who should be on a much MUCH bigger stage. He is amazing. The shows are sung live (I don't know if the welcome aboard show was sung live but the rest were), and, we were impressed with the quality of the productions and entertainers.

The children's staff is great! Very patient and they seem to go out of their way for the kids.

The ship itself is a good size. Not so big that you get lost. But, it's good she is going into dry dock. She needs a bit of work. A deep clean will do her good.

Our room staff was alright. Again-not great. A couple of times he forgot to give us a Fun Time. No biggie as they are found everywhere.

The main lobby bar isn't stocked very well so sometimes we were searching for a bar to just get kaluha. Weird, but, again, not major.

The photographers are RUTHLESS! Seriously! It's awful. Getting off in one port they tried to stop of 4 times on the gangway. 4 times. 4 separate photo opportunities. Within about 45 seconds. TOO MUCH! That said, I bought a ton of posed family photos. LOL.

It's funny-people here talk about how there are no suite perks...we were given waters, strawberries, a bag of laundry. We had FTTF so we got more water. We had celebrations and were given champagne and gift cards. My husband and son did the Behind the Fun tour and were delivered a plate of treats. We felt really spoiled.

It's a wonderful trip with amazing opportunities for once in a lifetime experiences. We loved our excursions and really have no regrets.

Adding: Our excursions were the small boat tour, the botanical garden/hatchery/glacer in Juneau (Great tour! Didn't care for our guide, but, the gardens are amazing and really worth seeing!) , we did a private tour in Skagway through Dyea Dave (LOVED IT!!!!!!! Way cheaper and super fun!). We did the crafting at sea thing with Zoe. We did tote bags. Very VERY little instruction but still a fun afternoon with a cool souvenir.

  4. I'm just off the Legend. Like, yesterday off.

We DID make it into Tracy Arm. It was the first time in 2 years. It was pretty great. We did do the small boat excursion. It does get closer than the ship. I'm glad we did it and I think it was worth the price. We saw two larger ships get much closer than the Legend did so I was glad we spent the extra money.

  5. Does anyone control their kids anymore?

We most certainly do. There is no way in hell my son will be acting like an untrained monkey. We don't allow it at home, we don't allow it in restaurants, we don't allow it in stores, we will NOT allow it on the ship.

What makes me REALLY angry is children who DO behave so horribly, give kids like MINE, a bad rap. People think ALL kids are rotten. As a result, people freak out when they see him in nice restaurants, because, they think he will, also, behave like an animal. Not all kids are like that.

  6. We are scheduled to cruise in 22 days (but who's counting?). If we are looking to book for Summer 2018, do we book now or are the onboard bookings worth waiting for? I know some changes were made, but, I can't find the threads.

    Thanks!

  7. We brought a blow up tub, used it on our balcony. We filled it using water bottles and water from the tap so we could get it warmer if needed. I think we would end up putting just a couple inches of water in-enough to splash a bit but nothing major. This was 7 years ago and I don't recall the tubs not being allowed. It was a small yellow tub that was about 2 feet long by 18 inches wide.

  8. When I emailed a year in advance, the reply I received was they book in the current year only. I emailed them on January 1 and booked the excursion. :D I didn't want to miss out!

You will LOVE it. It is the one excursion that is a must.

Did it finally show up on your excursion page on the website or did you simply do the email that someone put up above in this thread?
