Hi Alsmez, we too are on this sailing , welcome aboard 😊
Like you we’ve never been to either Vancouver or Seattle so we’d like to see some of what the cities have to offer .
We have booked the Amtrak Cascade train from Seattle to Vancouver . I believe it runs twice daily and takes approx 4 hours . We chose this option over the various  bus companies as we feel the train will be more comfortable , and as far as I’m aware we won’t have to get off the train with our luggage when we get to customs at the border .. this too was imo an easier option ... we will spend 1 night pre-cruise in Vancouver and  4 nights there  post cruise . Before heading to Banff for another 4 nights .
A suggestion for you might be to fly into Vancouver pre cruise and have some time there  , do the crusie and then have some days in Seattle before flying home from there ... or are there no flights from Seattle to your home ?Â
That way it would save your dad having to travel between both cities with his troublesome knees 😉

Can anyone give me up to date info re drinks packages inboard the Vision if the Seas ...my DH doesn't touch alcohol . Would I be able to buy a drinks package (alcohol) for just me and then buy a soft drinks one for him ?
Also if we have drinks packages do they still add the 15% onto our OBA for every drink we buy .
Sorry for so nanny questions , but it's been a few years since our last cruise and there's been a few changes on board .
TIA

We've been lucky in being able to book JS 8592 deck 8 on the Vision for Europe 2015 ....I have searched high and low and can't find any photos of the cabin ...in fact very few of VOS at all .
Can anyone post some photos or links on this or similar cabin please ...I'd really appreciate them .

Aft K 8579 and JS's 8588 and 8592 also were absolutely perfect.
Madflyer ... We have booked JS 8592 on the Vision for our wedding anniversary next year ... I can't find and info or photos of the suite ... Could you please tell
me all about it .. Pleeeeaaaase :)
Eg ... Is balcony larger than side cabins ?
What is room layout like ie is bed in right hand side of cabin and is bed or sofa nearer window ..?
I'm sorry if I'm a pest asking so many questions , it's our first time on the Vision and can't find much info about it other than 'not so good ' reviews !
Please tell me all is ok on it 😄
TIA

Hi Jodi, much as I'd love to say we were on the same cruise but in sorry we are on 1st September , round trip from Barcelona and taking in Venice , Kotor and Ravenna ... To celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary ...
I'm sure you will love the ports of call too !
-
It's been a couple if years since we sailed with RCI so we are out of touch with some of the changes .
So I'll apologise in advance for asking something that may have already been asked !
We will be on the Vision next year and I understand that there will be changes on the ship ...
Does anyone know I these new soda machines ( that everyone has mentioned ) will be on the Vision and also where I can find info on the drinks packages available ... If I look on the web site it tells me I'm too early to book things .. But I'd still like to find out what's available ...
Another apology for this being rather long winded 😄
Many thanks

Does anyone have any info/photos ot the Owners suite B751 onthe Diamond Princess. Our first full suite and our first Princess cruise, so will appreciate all/any info. IE. balcony size/obstructions etc .
We had aft cabins on other lines and just loved them so much !! I hope the Diamond comes up trumps too.

Hi , just wondering if anyone knows whether cabins 8172 or 7208 on Millennium class ships, are next to the area where the cabin stewards keep their trolley/cart etc. If so is there any problems because of this. Will we had a linen cart stuck outside our door 24/7. We had 8185 on the Summit and had no problems, but I'm now thinking that the cart was outside a cabin further along the little corridor and might be outside either of these cabins.
Thanks for any info.

We are sailing on the Constellation in March '08' and whilst I couldn't get one of my much loved Aft CC cabins, I have been lucky to get 6135 and a 'sweet 16' 2C for our friends (their first Celebrity experience)
Thanks to this great post we awere able to see that both cabins had a larger than normal balcony. Now I'm wondering if this post can come up trumps again for me.
There is a terrific link to some 'external view' photos of the sweet 16s with all of the cabins numbered so that you can see at a glance which is 'your cabin'. Our friends are delighted to see theirs.....but poor old me in 6135 can't seem to find any photos or links to see our cabin.
Does anyone have any photos of views taken from either the port or perhaps the decks above, which would show us where our cabin was and how it looks from outside.
Â
Many thanks in advance and THANK YOU again fro all this great info.

Sorry Folks ..... forgot to add that they did NOT mention soda cards or wine packages, is this in hope that we will just go ahead and pay for things individually and thereby pay more for our drinks.
I also had asked if they have alcohol-free wine on board, DH just does not like alcohol, I still await and answer to this question.
Oh well Ce la Vie.
Happy sailings ......

Hi folks, just recieved a reply to my e.mail sent on March 12th to RCCL, I had asked for a copy of their wine list and also their policy on soft/non alcoholic drinks as to whether lemonade etc were free.
Happy enough with their response although not as full an answer as I had hoped.
Oh well just have to wait and find out for ourselves onboard.
-
I too have sent an e.mail to their information desk -sent on march 12th-
It is nothing of great importance but just some information that I am looking for, As yet no reply or even an acknowledgement that they have recieved my enquiry.
My thoughts are - Why advise us to e.mail their information desk for info if they have no intention of responding to it.
Will RCL please take it onboard (pardon the pun) that we are the guys paying the bucks to the company and IMHO they should be doing their best to please the customers.
Glad I'm not alone though in getting no reply.

Can anyone offer some advice for our first time in Vancouver please
in Canada (Alaska/Pacific Coastal)
Posted
Good evening ,
my husband and I are flying from the UK to board an Alaskan cruise .
there are a couple of things that I’m still not sure about and wonder if anyone can help please:-
1. We will arrive in YVR @ approx 7pm and will taxi from airport to Sutton Place hotel . Can anyone suggest a mid range place to eat that will be near the hotel .
we can and do eat almost any type of food , so as long as it’s decent quality and within 5-10 mins walk we’ll be happy although after a 10 hour flight we will be exhausted so don’t want fine dining /walking for ages to get there .
2. Our cruise is a reposition one sailing from Vancouver but goes to Seattle to disembark , we will then take an Amtrak Cascade train from Seattle back to Vancouver and spend 4 nights there .
so can anyone offer advice on taxis from the train station ( train gets in around 11pm so we won’t use sky train ) are taxis readily available ? I’d so where/how  do we get one  and roughly how much will it cost to hotel ?  ( were going back to the Sutton place again ) .
My apologies for a long post , but I do appreciate any  help/advice that you can offerÂ
